He always gave me a 20 minute heads up for his visits. The materials for the project were shown and explained to me before their use. His crew kept and left a very clean work site. The owner even had the loose stones (plywood was laid down on the grass first) moved to the pine straw overnight so as to not harm the turf. The owner wouldn't leave the finished project until he had water tested the new catch basins and run the irrigation for leaks. The price we agreed to was the price I paid and the owner was sure enough about his work that he even gave me a written warranty. I will definitely recommend SOTO Stone to anyone who wants a dependable, experienced stone mason.

He didn't just go for a roof replacement, but pointed out a couple of opportunities to fix a few things. His bid for better products AND additional repairs came in under his competitors. Hired! You wont find a better GC than Chris Branscum with Ace & Hammer. He is…read moresmart, caring, creative and hard working. I hired Chris for a bold, one-of a kind project: a 500sf 4-season sunroom housing a swim spa. Initially, I was GC'ing the project myself and early on in the project I made a big mistake with the foundation. Chris showed up to give me a roofing quote when he told me he was a GC, not just a roofer, and he wanted to take on the GC role for this unique project. He had already read over the plans and had some questions. It was evident that he was knowledgeable and was going to take his time to do things right. I told him I'd think about it. I went to his website and read the About tab. After reading that and other 5-star reviews, I knew I found the right guy. Here's the excerpt from his website and after working with Chris, I couldn't agree more: "You won't find anyone more well-rounded, compassionate, and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. I love what I do, and we have a tremendous team of staff and colleagues that share my passion for this industry. The Metro Atlanta market has treated me well, and I aim to return the favor to its communities and neighborhoods alike. We're all in this crazy world together..... why not spend your time working alongside some of the most truly devoted folks that can create one of the biggest positive impacts for you and your family's life forever?" This project required someone with advanced knowledge in nearly every trade. I always had questions for Chris, and he quickly answered them all. He gave great advice, and we often followed it. In fact, I think his greatest contribution was recommending a gable roof over our spa - something my architect and I hadn't thought of. This completely changed the feel of the room and opened everything up! It also saved us money versus the original plan of a roof deck. And when it came time to execute, his team was great. There was only one instance where something wasn't done to our expectations and Chris owned up to it and had it redone free of charge. In terms of prices - He is not the cheapest and he's transparent about that but I don't think he ever increased prices on us. He rounds up with his estimates and regularly gives credits when he overshoots. You get what you pay for with Chris which is hard to say with GCs these days. He uses the BuilderTrend App for estimates, billing and storing progress photos, etc. It's a great app. We had one issue with an adjustment but Chris quickly fixed it. I have recommended Chris to a dozen friends and family and they all have good things to say. Chris' custom metal business cards with engraved blueprints and a QR code embody his craft. His work is quality, custom and bold.
