They were very accommodating when I called so I was pushed further back on the timeslot till after 3 PM so I could be home for the service. Green Oak differentiation included owner interaction, master roofer certification, 5 star rating, excellent warranty, professional documentation and workflow management. WORK - scheduled efficiently, material arrived on time the day before, crew arrived on time the day of, work was conscientious and completed in 3/4 day (townhome), clean-up (including loose nail hunt) was impressively thorough. AFTER - received certificate of completion in a timely manner, along with photo record of repaired roof. Not being a roofer, it's difficult to assess the integrity of the new roof & shingles, however the end result appears clean and professional. I have been battling two leaks, one on each side of the house where we added an addition in 2006. Jose, the owner at Restoration Roofing, was able to squeeze me in and visited me the same day I requested the estimate on Yelp while the others responded and came in a day or two. Jose arrived early for our appointment and flew a drone over the house, the other roofers relied on a company that specializes in providing sqft and other data to roofers. Jose was the only one who really impressed me and presented me with a beautifully written, thorough, bulleted estimate describing all materials to be used per my preferences (e.g., Certainteed Landmark Pro shingles) before even leaving. Jose was friendly, professional and obviously knew residential roofing based on our half an hour or so together. The other roofers all got back with estimates in a day or two, which was fine - but Jose's estimate was the best-written, clear and concise but thorough, on a one-page form. Jose did not pressure me while I was waiting on the other roofers' estimates at all, when he left he just shook my hand and asked me to contact him if I had any other questions, in a warm and genuine way. The overall sense I had, combining all the Yelp reviews and my own interaction with Jose was that he is a genuine, friendly roofing expert. When the other estimates came in, I was happy to see Restoration Roofing's was among the lowest two for a lot of reasons. One reason was the pages and pages of stellar Yelp reviews from Yelpers who had solid Yelping history. Another was his communication and person skills. In addition, Jose's company is Certainteed Master Certified and Certainteed shingles, from my research, are great value and quality. In addition to a new roof and identification of the source of the leaks and repair/prevention and the upgraded shingles, I asked for new oversized gutters and downspouts, and pvc facia. When roofing day arrived, Santos, Josh and a crew seven others were right on time and were friendly and hard-working! I watched off and on as they did herculean work to remove the old roof, including replacing some of the rotted wood in need of replacement (see pic of one leak and damaged wood). They did a fine job, paying attention to detail and photographing their progress from their lofty perch, and at the job's completion Jose provided me with a link to over a hundred photos documenting the progress. I watched as the flashing, nailing, boot replacement... everything went flawlessly. And they did a great job cleaning up and did a couple extra things no charge, like resecuring soffit. I was confident when I selected Restoration Roofing over the other highly-rated roofers. A week and a half later, my roof is beautiful! All in all from appointment to estimate, to roofing, to gutters, to the photos and the price of the estimate holding true, it was a stellar experience and I can't thank them all enough for being so great at what each excels at. I began to ask Matthew about how much he thought it would cost to replace my roof and possibly gutters. Matthew went out of his was to spend well over 30 minutes explaining all of the intricacies involved with replacing a roof and how many different kinds there are, all of which I knew nothing about. After our very nice and educational conversation, Matthew exchanged numbers with me and explained that, due to my missing shingles and the rain approaching, he should probably have one of his inspectors (Maury White) come out and take a look because based on what he gathered from me he said it sounded like I could potentially have severe storm damage and if that's the case I may be in really good position for a possible homeowners insurance claim. Later that evening Matthew texted me asking if it would be ok if he and Maury came by my home first thing in the morning to do a roof inspection for storm damage and also make sure I didn't have any leaks or need a tarp. They arrived at 9:45am for a 10am appt, let me know they were there and went straight to work. It might have taken all of 30 minutes. They tarped my roof for free, came back down showed me all the pictures and even informed me that I had a leak, of which I was unaware. At that time Maury White explained how he's been doing this 13 years and he definitely believed that I had severe storm damage. He showed me all the pictures of what it looked like In the area he tarped and it was completely exposed the wood was rotten. Maury and Matthew both sat at the table with me while I filed the claim and helped me throughout the whole process. Not only that, they came back out on the day that the adjuster came just to ensure that I would get everything I was entitled to. Long story short: not only did I get a GAF Timberline HDZ golden pledge lifetime roofing system, they gave me "FREE" gutters in exchange for me putting a sign in my front yard. It did not stop there Matthew and Maury both followed up so well throughout this whole process and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy even the owner of DMV, Gian, stopped by and introduced himself and thanked us for the business. DMV EXTERIORS is by far the best roofing company that genuinely cares about there customers, not about their bank account. They care about people, average everyday people. Matthew could have sold me a roof as I was prepared to buy one but he went the extra mile and brought his "Insurance guru" Maury White and they did everything they said they would and more. I have security footage of a representative from this company walking up to my door, looking directly at my sign, reading it, and choosing to knock anyway. If this is how their employees are trained to treat property owners and ignore basic requests, I can only imagine what they would ignore during an actual home renovation project. There is zero respect for property here. I will never recommend a company that blatantly disregards the signs and boundaries of a homeowner. Avoid them if you value respect and professionalism.
