Best Middle Eastern in Syracuse! Super friendly staff, fresh ingredients, authentic flavor.

By far the best Middle Eastern,food in Syracuse. I usually not a big fan of  (Arabic bābā gh Babaganoush but his is filled with fresh tomatoes and olive oil, perfectly seasoned. The only restaurant I'll eat it. The hummus is excelent, lamb moist, kabobs tender and many different desserts not just backlava. They've expanded, good sign but miss they're original space. read more

My wife and I Love Munjeds, the best flaffle and chicken shwarma that I have ever had. We travel from Chittenango right past King Davids in Fayetteville which we no longer frequent. Try the Baklava cheese cake yum. Very reasonable $. Our service has been good and quick though its been pretty empty when weve been there. Ingredients have been fresh especially important with salads. Highly Recomend. read more

Sinew City!!! I ordered a combo that had chunks of beef on it, more than half of which I couldn't even cut with a serrated knife. The waitress apologized, but didn't offer to take a portion off the bill because of it. The hummus as too acidic, the tabouli was 95% parsley, and my friend's chicken was way too salty. The table was sticky and, at one point, the dining room was so dark that I had to move over because my friend was blocking the light from only two out of ten light fixtures that had bulbs in them. I can overlook this kind of stuff if the food is really good, but I'm not going back because Byblos, while a little bit farther, is many times better. read more

The food was very good -- I had hummus and chicken shawarma which came with pita. The hummus was a perfect consistency: a little runny but not too much, great flavor and the portion was generous. The shawarma was also very good and flavorful, though not the best I've had. Our waitress was very quiet and awkward and didn't come to the table until there was dead silence among our party. I was least impressed with the pita, which was okay but nothing to write home about. read more

While I haven't been to Munjed's on the hill for almost 9 or 10 years I have to say that it was always the best falafel and hummus in town. It's the 2nd best falafel I've ever had in my life and believe me I love me some falafel. A must if you are in the 'cuse and in the mood. read more

I came here today and I fell in love, I fell in love with the restaurant, I never experienced anything better than what I experienced, the food was off the charts amazing and the service is awesome also the hospitality is comforting also the prices were very cheap and reasonable. I want to come back here a lot more often since it was just my first time. read more

Convenient location for those of us who live in the neighborhood and has decent atmosphere as well. IMO the food is good - meaning in the same league as King David's (Marshall Street and Fayetteville) but it is grossly overpriced. Good example is a falafel sandwich: $3.95 at KD's on Marshall, $4.50 at KD's in Fayetteville(where they pay very high rent) and $5.95 at Munjed's. I have found their entree items and dinners to be similarly overpriced and not worth the extra money they charge over similar places in Syracuse and other cities. read more

Excellent food, and great service in traditional environment. The authenticity of everything was a unique change with the Munjed's Special platter. It's definitely a place I would recommend for anyone who wants to try traditional middle eastern food with great variety and selection. Not too mention fair prices for the large quantities of food. I have been eating here for at least 10 years, but I must say I am a bit disappointed in recent years. The portions keep getting smaller and the prices keep getting higher. I must admit that the humous here is the BEST in Syracuse, but the prices and portion sizes aren't as good as other middle eastern restaurants in the neighborhood. read more

The food, drinks, and service are great. I've been several times and got the chicken kabob dinner. The falafel is also really good.

I used to love Munjeds but it seems like over the past year they changed cooks. They also increased their prices and are way over-priced for what you get. I recently ordered my favorite - chicken chwarima with hummus, and the chicken was dry and tasteless. I remember a few years ago it was a totally different chicken - moist and tasty, spiced well. Pretty good food! The hummus plate was so tasty and fresh. The salad dressing could have had more flavor. The waitress was extremely accommodating and welcomed us to eat in the last few minutes of the restaurant being open. Definitely will go back! read more

The food is neither good nor bad--edible but so what. The service was horrible. I will never go there again simply because of the rudeness of the staff. The man on the phone was argumentative, telling me I had ordered things I had not. They stiffed us on the food. I just ate at Munjed's Middle Eastern Cafe for the first time. It's also the first time I've eaten at an exclusively Middle Eastern restaurant. I've been to Greek Fest and I've explored the local Middle Eastern grocery store, so I had some idea of what I like. But I wanted to try something new, so I got the Moussaka. It was delicious! Like an eggplant Shepard's pie, flavored with soft spices instead of Worcestershire sauce and garlic. I wish I had room for dessert, but I will be back! read more

This place has awesome middle eastern food. Been to King Davids and thought they were really good, this place is better. Only thing King Davids has on them is Tabouli. Munjeds was kind of bland. Grape leaves, hummus, baba ghanoush was awesome. read more

Want to alert patrons that want to use their Entertainment coupons that this establishment NO LONGER ACCEPTS them. I even presented my coupon when I ordered and followed all the rules. My husband and I had drinks, platters and desserts. The food was good although my order was not correct. When the bill came, we were told the owner no longer accepts the coupon since their move across the street to a new location. There should be a sign on the door, or we should have been notified of this at the beginning of our visit! BEWARE!! read more

Went there late on a Tuesday. It was nearly empty and one server on duty. Service was incredibly slow, to the point that the chef had to find the server to get the food to our table. The kifta burger looked good but was dry and the pita it was in was stiff and fell apart. The falafel was greasy. Not recommended. read more

I will not patronize this place ever again. The food was good, but the service was atrocious. I had a coupon for buy one get one free from the Entertainment book, the waiter took the coupon to the owner and the waiter came back and said the owner would not accept the coupon. The owner is a sleazebag on two accounts: 1) he is advertising Munjed's in the Entertainment book, and then scamming people who try to use the coupon, and 2) he had the waiter do his dirty work of informing me that the coupon was not being accepted instead of informing me of this in person. FORGET this place. King David's is much better!! read more

Date of servc 7/8/15 time 5pm. I give it a 2 stars for the atmosphere. .. it was a neat looking lounge .... i did not really enjoy the food... all of our pita bread had a burnt flavor to it.. even when i ate my lamb gyro,I didn't have that yummy flavor that's usually left over in my mouth... all i had was a burnt flavor. The portion size was small... Our 9$ MAZA Platter Was VERY Small AND They Gave us 1Pita bread cut into 4 small pieces. Definitely not enough to enjoy a platter of 4 sides with 4 people. I would not have been so annoyed if there were tons of people and the waitress was busy, there was only 2 other tables filled with 2 people in them. They took the fries off the menu , which is one of the raved about items on their website ....which was fine... but didn't replace it with anything. The bartender was incompetent. ... she made the wrong drink and we had to still pay for it. Plus the new drink... and to top it off she gave us additude. I would not go back. I know i can find better tasting food and better serv . I would not reccomend this restaurant. I truly belive the people giving this a 4 or 5 star are people who have never had good food and are ok with subpar servc. read more
