Dairy Dip Diner

Good service. Very cute and retro vibe. Bathroom was janky and needed an upgrade badly. Food was decent but menu items do not come with anything. For example we ordered a burger with fries and a drink. Burger, fries and drink all separate prices. Our waitress asked "would you like fries or tots with that" we assumed it was part of the burger price...Not a big deal, just not common. We enjoyed our meal and the experience. I would recommend

If you ever find yourself in Mulberry, Arkansas, you have to stop here for the cool retro vibe, the good food, top notch services and the prices! I'm still it's blown away at the prices but we'll talk about that in a minute. This is locally owned, obviously. I'm almost sure the waitress was the owners wife but I'm not 100% sure. We ordered our food, a few of our burgers got mixed up, but she corrected it in like under a minute. Every person who came in while I was there knew someone else there. The waitress knew all of them. It was so... Mayberry-ish. But in Mulberry. Just a wholesome feeling. And the food was good. But the prices. I read the menu and all I can think of is where are they getting their groceries post-COVID in 2023 and still able to charge these prices?? I ordered the daily special: hamburger, French fries and a drink. And it was.... Get this.... $4.99. I literally ate a filling lunch at a sit-down restaurant for less than $5. Anyway, this place is doing something right.

We decided to get off I-40 to grab a bite and found this " gem"! We got there just as lunch was starting. Becky, our server , was friendly and fun to talk with. We were hoping to get breakfast but they are lunch and dinner only, but she suggested the BLT Which was perfect ( with fries too!). While we were enjoying the ambiance of this nostalgic classic diner, and our food, Leonard the owner stopped at our table to check in with us. What a wonderful gentleman! He shared his story of how he has operated restaurants for many years, and clearly his customer service was tops! We talked with him for quite a while, and as we left my wife and I were touched by the " Southern hospitality"we experienced at this amazing classic diner. Before we left, Becky said we needed to try the pecan pie which was a perfect ending to our wonderful lunch. There are numerous stops along the highway to eat but if you want to take a few extra minutes to experience a true local gem, get off in Mulberry and find your way to the Dairy Dip Diner. Thanks Becky and Leonard for an amazing experience!!

decor

So cute! Haven't been here since I was younger and we used to call it Dairy Dump, but with all the cute decor, that just doesn't fit anymore. I love the old diner vibe. The food is the same as any small town little diner, nothing special, but the atmosphere is cute. Try a peanut butter chocolate malt, tastes like a reese's!

It's been a while since I've been here…read more This is a great place to eat and celebrate and if you plan in advance even have a little bit of a party. Today we came for Sunday lunch and enjoyed quiche. Lorraine and the kids had spaghetti with meat sauce. We had a black forest cake for dessert and also ice cream sundaes for the kids. We drank Whitaker's sparkling grape juice for our meal. It was a great hit. The kids really enjoyed it and they said they wanted to come back soon! It's probably been five or six years since we have been here and the kids really didn't remember it. We did learn that they're not giving tours of the wine cellar since Covid at least not without some kind of special arrangement. The service was excellent and I would add the same lady that waited on me today was waiting on me many years ago when I first visited here when I was 11 years old. That's been more then 40 years ago.

If you enjoy sweet wines like us, we loved the strawberry alpine and the chocolate wine as well as the red muscadine. They had many other wines to choose from as well. Our son does not enjoy wine, but they offered non-alcoholic beverages for him to sample as well. We appreciated this kindness. In addition to the wines we purchased some artisan soaps and body lotion made from wine sediments with amazing scents. We also purchased some homemade apple butter. As it happened today we were not hungry at the time so we did not visit the restaurant but look forward to going there on a future trip. The clerk was extremely helpful and friendly. She took the trouble to make sure we enjoyed the experience and got out of it what we were looking for. This was all the more appreciated since this was our daughter's first wine tasting.

I'm a regular at this location. I also purchased food for my family for tomorrow to pick up as well…read moreas several plates for people that I work with who will be at work tomorrow. I am a bit shocked tonight to write this post... But this was the worst experience I have had at this Cracker Barrel or any Cracker Barrel in a long time maybe ever. The food was not on, and the service was not on. Sometimes you experience a little blip in one or the other area, but rarely both and not usually spectacularly poor in both ways. Blah and bland would be great terms to use. Just downright blah. And disappointing. To top it off, I purchased meals using my app or at least my rewards information. It appears that none of that information has been loaded onto my app, despite having purchased the meals to the tune of 800+ dollars 4+ days ago. When I inquired as a store, what could be done pretty much there were shoulder shrugs. I could've asked for a manager and maybe I should have just didn't have it in me to fiddle with it tonight. The follow up - aka, the next day... I picked up 47 take away meals and was pleased with the service and the food, etc. I am grateful they were there and open to help take care of us for dinner on Thanksgiving day. No to go silverware was provided - though I did ask.

Well, no good way to begin this so I guess I'll just dive in. Stopped in the other day coming back…read morefrom Fort Smith because my wife's son won an award there for his Korn tribute band. So in the interest of fairness, maybe my mood was already a little soured. But the events that transpired in this restaurant certainly didn't help, and likely took years off my life. The trouble began before we even got in the restaurant. A gentleman had parked his truck, revving ostentatiously, in between my car and the front door. He kept giving me and my wife weird, hostile looks. When we walked by, she (my wife is a kind soul) presumably gave him a look of concern, and this guy cracks his window-- doesn't roll it down all the way, like he's scared of the cold or something-- and starts going "What? What?" like he's Taxi Driver. Remember that movie? He was totally freaking out. He was shaking in there. Maybe he really was cold...At any point I took him for a harmless(?) druggie, and we kept walking. We get into the restaurant, and get a seat by the window. We get a nice server at least, girl named Autumn (I know because I made her write it down for us) and order some food. Things are finally taking a turn for the better, or that's what we hope. No points for guessing who comes walking in. The parking lot crazy. Imagine my delight when he starts walking into the kitchen. Maybe a minute passes. I hear yelling from the kitchen, and this lunatic and some other guy are screaming at each other. Judging from the name his interlocutor kept using, crazy guy's name is Lando or Larry or something like that. Lando/Larry is screaming about how he doesn't want to make the food! It was like something out of Kitchen Nightmares. Server Autumn at least was pretty apologetic to me and my wife, and attempted to distract us from the sounds of World War 3 coming back from the kitchen. I suppose it was a little heartwarming to see that someone there was actually capable of doing their damn job. Oh, this bears mentioning. We ordered burgers. Simple right? I wish! Oh my God how I wish it had been as simple it should have been! The burgers come out burned to hell and back and hard enough to stop a bullet. They looked like hockey pucks! Tasted like them too. At least our waitress was fast with the refills so we could drink enough sweet tea to keep us alive for the truck stop sandwiches that would have to be our dinner tonight since our South Park experience was a complete and utter failure. My advice to weary travelers? If you stop at South Park, run in, tip the waiters, then get out without ordering a bite. It's better that way, trust me. And maybe convince the people of Arkansas to invest in some rehab services-- nobody's stomach rumbles when you've got to contend with some tweaked out crazy person looking like he might shiv you in the parking lot. Then burning your food like it's the evidence that leads back to his meth lab. Gerald C, signing off.

Coincidentally named, Memory Lane Café…read more Belleville is a small town with a dwindling population, a wide spot in the road. Google Maps struggles to find it when tasked with the challenge. A population of less than 300. What once was a very nice big brick building, is directly across the street from the café. Worthless today except for the sentimental value that only a few old enough to remember, have for it. A monument of Belleville's past, that is now a marker on memory lane. The café is as small town, down home, rural Arkansas as you can get. Delicious country cooked meals served up by friendly locals. A couple of enjoyable breakfasts for us. Plates filled with eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, biscuit and gravy. Served with an endless cup of coffee. After a quart of coffee, I had to protect my cup from be refilled. The interior décor is exactly what you would expect to find in a small café with a name Memory Lane: signs, pictures, license plates, advertising. Elvis was well represented. An entire wall dedicated to the "King of Rock and Roll." My wife discovered a very unique surprise hanging on the rustic, rough cut pine walls; an autographed picture of Carol Burnett with a letter dated June 25, 2002. The letter was addressed to the owners of the restaurant at the time. Check the pictures. Drop in for delicious breakfast, or one of the daily specials with a side of friendly small-town hospitality.
