Well now I don't have to figure it out and go back, because Mulan's was equally good. Sushi was awesome. I'd come here just for sushi. Egg Rolls are nice. Hot and sour soup was on point. The shrimp salad is worth a try. The broccoli salad was bizarre, but I kinda like it... almost like it had cool whip in it. They had a whole bunch of different yummy chicken options. So the one negative is that they only had one beef options... pepper steak... it was awesome. I actually took the steak and added it to some chicken dishes. I had one dessert that tasted like an instant cappuccino that I really liked. They also had a ton of ice cream choices and they're good! Had a great experience!! The food was very good and very nice variety on the buffet. More than enough choices to find something you should like. From fried shrimp, to several other chicken and shrimp dishes everything I tried was delicious. Service was great but food was awful! All the staff were friendly and made sure our drinks were full and checked in a lot to make sure we didn't need anything which was awesome and much appreciated! However, I unfortunately can not return due to the poor quality of food. For starters They don't have fried rice....they have some weird bright orange rice that tastes more Mexican. Their chicken tastes like it had been soaked in ammonia and their Lo mein tasted like straight bonfire smoke or maybe like an old burnt pan....idk but it was inedible. I have been to my share of Asian buffets. None compares to Mulans. The food was fresh full of flavor and hot. They constantly keep pans full and area clean. Very friendly and made sure everything was good. The variety was awesome. Salmon, flounder shrimp... beef, pork, chicken ten ways. Vegetables were okay a little over cooked, but understandable. The dessert bar and ice cream bar was well stocked and a wide provided a variety. I would recommend Mulans for a quick and tasty meal. read more

With the demise of so many buffet places to go Mulan's has become the one of the better buffets left. The food is good but the price has risen quite a lot. There should be two $$ for them now as it will usually run over $25 for two adults to dine in. If you arrive early for lunch the food seems to not be warm enough. I love mulans. It's one of the best Chinese places of Conway. You can go in and get the buffet or you can go in and get a takeout buffet. It's $6.99 per pound for the takeout buffet. The food can be a little cold, but I mean what do you expect, the food is sitting out for buffet. I love the chicken on a stick and crab rangoon and other things. I do think sometimes that they skimp out on some sushi filling. The staff however is not the best. There are constantly people where you get your food and you almost feel as if you're being judged for getting so much food but like you're in a buffet and trying to get what you paid for??? Oh well. From reading some of the reviews, it sounds like there are some misguided complaints our there. You're reviewing a Chinese Buffet, keep it real...and relevant. Like most Chinese Buffets in the area, Mulan's can be a little hit or miss. However, the margin of error is much smaller than most. There is a wide variety of dishes, a hibachi grill, and one choice of sushi available with the buffet. Also, brown, steamed white, and fried rice are available. There is also an ice cream bar with multiple toppings available to those who wish to indulge. I think the place was pretty good, definitely better than New China, about the same as China Town. There were some differences I wish to point out: The food on the buffet was very well presented. The buffet was one of the cleanest and most well-stocked as I've seen in the area. This is exceptional considering there was a fairly large crowd for a Thursday evening. There wasn't an extremely large selection, but what was there tasted fine. My two benchmarks for a Chinese buffet, fried rice and General Tso's chicken, were mediocre, but edible. The hibachi chicken and Mulan's pork were wonderful. They also had some less common dishes such as a chicken/spinach/cream cheese roulade and a crab in cream sauce dish. I am not a sushi eater, but my wife enjoyed their sushi. Most buffets that include sushi leave some out on the bar, but this place is different. My wife had to go to the sushi bar and fill out a card with what she wanted. They only let you get one roll at a time. You give the preparer the card, you go sit down, and you have to keep getting up and checking to see if the roll is done because he just leaves it on the counter. When it is done and you go get it, you find you only get 4 pieces to a roll. They let you do this over and over again, however. The hand dipped ice cream was a good departure from most buffets' self-serve soft-serve. When you want ice cream, you approach the freezer or ask your server. They dip it for you, and you can have 1 to 3 scoops. They had about 10 flavors when I went, such as strawberry cheesecake, coffee, spumoni, moose tracks, two vanilla flavors, etc. It looks like it may be Yarnell's. They had several toppings you could put on the ice cream too. There was also a baked cinnamon apple dish that was on the hot bar that they suggested you get and put vanilla ice cream on. This would be a great place to eat if you are in the mood for a good and tasteful Chinese buffet. It is in my opinion the best one to go to in Conway. The interior is modern and clean. The buffet itself tastes different and very clean. Now if you are looking for a sushi bar, it is small and not a lot of options in that area. The sushi was warm and could tell it was sitting there for a bit. The hibachi area is actually very nice the options could be a little bigger but for its size there is definitely taste. One thing I enjoy that makes it different is that it has an ice cream bar that you ask your server to bring. The ice cream options are great and highly recommend trying this out. Dessert is fresh and a normal for a Chinese buffet. I highly recommend eating here the price is a bit more expensive than others around but worth it. This WAS may favorite place in Conway to eat until tonight! I was done eating and needed to use the restroom before leaving. I really didn't pay attention to the waitress who was cleaning the high chair. I should have! After exiting the restroom and walking down the hall, I hit the area that had the overspray from the high chair cleaning and slipped on the slick floor and fell. A waitress came over and asked if I was all right and did I need help. I declined, I was so embarrassed. I went to check out and told the cashier what happened. He asked if my butt was okay. And by the time I got home I felt sick. The environment and the staff are the only good thing. The food was either lukewarm or cold. Some of the meats had a rubbery texture. i walked into this establishment and this woman had recently had surgery and can only eat 1/2 a cup of food. She showed her card say that she can't eat more than that and the owner refused to give her a child's priced meal. Insisting to make her pay the senior price that was $5 more. We travel from Maumelle to eat at Mulan's on a fairly regular basis when we head out to Conway. Mulan's has a wider selection of food on their buffet to choose from than other Chinese restaurants we visit. I love their spare ribs, peanut butter chicken, veggies and noodles. They also have a nice selection sushi to choose from. Their food is hot vs. luke warm at other places, the meats are tender and not over cooked. The staff is always very polite, attentive with drink refill and helpful. A great date night get away. read more

February is buy one get one half off buffet month, which makes it that much better. Their buffet has foods most chinese restaurants don't. Their honey chicken, sugar biscuits, and fried rice were exceptional. The crab ragoons and low mein- nothing special.
