Wow I don't even know where to start- So a lot of people were complaining about restrooms, which is a valid complaint, but I think talking about the horrible food is more important. I paid $22 for 2 Togo buffets and it is hands-down the worst Chinese food I've ever had. And this isn't just one or two items. Between my wife and I, we had just about everything. It was all bad. This is probably the best buffet for Chinese food around here. It's not the greatest but will get the job done for a Chinese craving. When the food is fresh it's absolutely amazing. The only reason I give three stars is because if you aren't there when it's fresh it's usually cold and hard. Last night my friends entire plate of food was cold. I didn't get what she did, mine was hot. Just depends on the time you go and when the food is fresh. We will return for the fresh hot food. read more

I used to love this place...yummy crawfish and sushi. I'm writing this review rather late, because the incident happened in early March. We were there right at the beginning of dinner hours but most of the food was lukewarm. With that being said, I stuck to only crawfish and fried shrimp that day. I decided to give the sweet and sour chicken a try, but of course I needed the sweet and sour sauce to go with it. I grab a bowl and begin to ladle myself some steaming hot sweet and sour sauce. I get back to my table only to find a mosquito eater (those big mosquito things) floating in my bowl of sweet and sour sauce!! I bring this to the attention of the lady who seated us. She took the bowl away and that was the end of it. At that point, I was done dining and so were my daughters and uncle who were also with me. Naturally, I asked for a discount since we had definitely not gotten our fill due to the insect putting us off of our food. I was paying for four meals and they took one dollar off. They only gave me a second dollar off when I asked for the military discount. They acted like it was no big deal that a bug was in their food and offered no apology. Won't be going back!! read more

This place used to be great. Today was not the case. Everything is fried and overly salted. Flavor is lacking in every dish. I used to look forward to filling up on this buffet but I left this time wanting what I ate out of my body as soon as possible. Luckily they didn't disappoint in that respect. I'll give this place a solid 4 stars. Bang for buck it's the spot for Chinese food in the J-Ville area. Plenty of items on the line & the wait service is really good. 3 adults + 1 child will run you around $35 (lunch). The place stays packed which is a good sign. If you go to a restaurant and the parking lot is empty...stay away. All in all worth it for buffet. Sushi seems to be on point. They have General Tao's chicken which is my favorite. :) read more

No complaints! Hot and mostly fresh. Everything was delicious. Chicken was very good. Sweet tea was great. I didn't have any dessert, but I didn't hear any complaints from my family. I was very impressed with the food. The interior is outdated, but hey--if the food is good, who cares? I can be pretty picky (I'm from Nashville, TN and a worldwide traveler), so me being happy should say something. Definitely will return when I'm in the area again. Don't hesitate to stop! read more

Good Jesus this was some awful food. The chicken was totally cooked in the same grease as the shrimp. I literally ate rice and potato's so I wouldn't soil myself tomorrow. This was hands down the worst Chinese buffet I've ever eaten and I live in Cabot! The shrimp was like rubber, the only thing I can say was good at this restaurant was the stuffed mushrooms and I'm not sure you can mess that up. I had beef and broccoli and chicken and broccoli and the only thing edible in either dish was the broccoli. Save yourself some time and money and drive a little farther to eat a good Chinese buffet. read more

The bathrooms aren't clean and smells. The kids didn't like the ice cream because it tastes sour as well as the rest of the desserts. Horrible. Just horrible. Worst Chinese food I have ever had! Teriyaki chicken (not sure it was chicken I'm almost certain it was pork or dog) was raw....I started chewing and almost immediately projectiled in my plate! The white rice was nice and sticky but hey there would something majorly wrong to mess up white rice. The other noodles (rice and the flat ones) tasted burnt/discusting! General Tsos chicken was ok. And the bbq chicken wings was decent. Any thing else have a barf bag handy. Good luck on ur next food choices. Food is good. Just watch out for those fortune cookies, husband found an ant in one and spat it out. Brought it up to the waitress and due to communication issues she just seemed so clueless. I realize this is the kind of place where food is just brought out at a good price and customers usually don't interact with waitresses. However when the need arises to ask a question, many are unable to answer or respond. Please clean the fortune cookie location/bin. The cookies are a sealed product and no bugs should be getting in - unless there are crumbs on the bottom and there isn't a lid to secure the bulk of them. If it were another bug other than a harmless ant, you could of had a customer that needed medical attention. read more

Since the demise of the "Chopsticks" restaurant, New China is the probably the best place for Asian food in Jacksonville. There are other Asian restaurants in town, but they are pretty abysmal. (Thia Taste = high price, small portions, low quality. China Wok = poor quality). New China is a typical Chinese buffet restaurant with food that seems mass produced elsewhere and reheated locally. It's decent, but nothing special. The portions are generous and their service is quick. Their "spicy" fare is far from spicy, and I don't have a high-tolerance for spicy food. I guess they tune their spice level to the local tolerance and it's pretty bland. I usually end up adding a few squirts of Sriracha to all the take-out I get there. New China isn't the best Chinese restaurant you'll try, but it is probably the best in Jacksonville. read more

Food seems like it doesn't have any flavor and for the price of getting in and eating it's not worth it. This Asian cross-roads style dining locations is SO beautiful inside!! The first time we went in we were both stunned by the decor and the size of the Buffet. YES, BUFFET!! Their prices are reasonable and you also can order from a menu for take out. We stopped going for a couple of years with the arrival of two more nice Asian cuisine businesses here in Jacksonville. But New China is still up there on my son and I's faves. There are some down sides though. When we did return after an absence, I was very shocked at the area behind the register. The wall was absolutely covered with notices about things like "Please Don't Waste Food", and other alerts. The waste of food issue is also posted conspicuously on the front doors AND the entry. I've traveled in my life and have always been shocked at how Americans country wide will absolutely waste food on their plates, by overloading them, then leaving full plates of food they don't like on their table to be wasted, causing the cost of the buffet and menu items to climb. It deeply saddens me to see this going on, any where. Also, we both commented to each other about the quality of the food on the buffets. In the ensuing years since they opened, the quality has slipped a little. The last visit produced little on my plate, because certain meat dishes looked over-cooked, such as the 'baked chicken', the rice noodles and so forth. Also, their sushi used to be marked telling what it was. Now it is not. I wanted the seaweed salad, but passed it by because it looked like it was fresh mixed with older amounts. Not vibrant green like it used to be. Still, the place still has some great, great items, like Shrimp in Lobster Sauce on the menu, or sweet and sour chicken, grilled steak tips, and so forth. If you can be reasonable about your amounts and only eat what you truly and sincerely can and want to experience, this family place is worth the effort!!!! read more

I wish I could give 2-1/2 stars. The food is alright, some items are good (sushi, dessert cake squares) and some are bad (fried stuff). Hit or miss on your favorites but definitely lots of good food. During busy times of the day they turn over the food more quickly, so expect fresher food during busy hours. Staff is friendly enough. Decor needs updating badly; worn seats, nasty bathroom, just tired all around and needs investment of cash to look the part. From the dirty plates to the dangerously slippery floor to the prepackaged and microwaved menu items and the utterly pathetic excuse for a sushi bar I must say this is hands down the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever been to. Sushi? More like old dried up slabs of 1 inch pieces of fish awkwardly sitting atop a lazy and untrained preparation of rice. Depending on the day of the week, or month, the wasabi ranges from a liquidy, soupy concoction to a hard, discolored substance that tastes every bit of its age. They would be better off getting rid of the sushi bar all together. Anyone lured there by their advertisement of "sushi" should be prepared for disappointment. But if it's a cheap meal you are looking for, by all means, enjoy the stomach pains you will likely feel after eating there. I recommend eating lightly with a side of Tums for dessert. read more

There's 3 adults in our party when we eat here about once a month. We usually find everything better than ok. Things look clean, floor, tables, food bars. Help is nice & helpful, although sometimes we don't understand them (the help) when they talk or they understand us, but we get by. Some the food trays maybe low depending on the time of day, but not for long. We like the way all the food taste. Everything can't be perfect.
