By the way, if you're ever in Zurich on business, you might want to try staying at the Hotel Sonne…read morein Kusnacht. It's about 10 km from downtown, and 11 minutes by trains that run every 15 minutes (and there's a direct train to the airport.) It's right on the lake, sunny in the afternoons, and the rooms are bigger than you'll get in downtown.
Don't get me wrong - it ain't cheap. But all the hotels in Zurich are really expensive, and the Sonne is charming AND...
If you walk up the main street, and follow the stream called the Tobler, you come to a ravine trail that is wonderfully Swiss. The waterfalls are sculpted, there are arched bridges over the stream, and this time of year there are teams of civic workers in the forest valley blowing away the leaves! (Even other Zurich residents think this is a bit much.)
Up and down is about 15 km with 220 m vertical, and just a great way of working off your Zurcher g'schnetzlets mit Rosti!
