My SIL, niece, and I went for a pedi on our annual vacation. We were hoping to get an appt last minute on a Saturday morning but had to settle for an appt in the afternoon. There was only one other patron there in the salon. We each got the Luxury (four star) pedi. This was my first time getting the hot stone massage. It was very nice and relaxing. The massage chair was also nice as well. The salon looked orderly and the staff were all friendly. They asked if we wanted a drink. Took my daughters for mani pedis here today. Our last day at the beach and what better way to return home than with fresh mani pedis! The salon was very nice and nicely decorated. They also have a special section for any couple wanting to get mani pedis together. Elana the owner made us feel right at home and we had a very enjoyable experience. I mentioned that my 14 month old daughter and wife were waiting in the car. She went out and insisted that they come in and it would be no problem for the youngster to run around. Elana and Chris did a wonderful job on my daughters nails. They both said they would like to return when we're back in town. I was in need of a mani-pedi, and hadn't been to any here in Myrtle Beach, so when I saw favorable reviews on Yelp for Mulan, I decided this would be the first place I'd try. We'll, I'm looking no further. Everyone was very friendly, and the salon had a nice family type feeling to it. My technician Brooklyn was amazing. She was very nice, efficient, and did excellent work. After getting there and speaking to another client, I decided to go for the powder dip manicure which Brooklyn did beautifully. Before I retired, I used to get mani-pedi's every other week, so I know, a good salon when I see one, and this is definitely an excellent one. I highly recommend both Mulan and Brooklyn. read more

I went in here as a walk in and was serviced really quick. I go to sit down in Stacy's chair and then there was a gentleman that told Stacy it was not in fact her turn and it was another girls turn. Stacy was continuing to fight it, playing dumb, acting as though it was her turn when it turns out it was not. Stacy fought it for so long I ended up starting with her, then once the owner called and informed it was in fact not Stacy's turn, I went over to Brooklyn's chair. Let me just say I had a wonderful time with Brooklyn and she gave me a perfect dip manicure, and was professional and quiet despite Stacy's little show. Throughout the rest of my time Stacy kept coming back to apologize but also continue to play dumb about her little tiff. I mostly am writing this review so the owner knows that Brooklyn was not in the wrong in this situation and that Stacy was incredibly unprofessional and made the experience in the salon incredibly uncomfortable for me, as well as the other woman in there. I made an appointment for the following day for a pedicure with gel polish. Went I arrived I was warmily greeted, by my name, I picked my polish color and was seated in a massage chair, where my service began with my technician, Leo. He made me feel comfortable from start to finish(believe me, when we stared, my toenails looked like I used them to hunt for fish!...lol) By the time he was finished, my toenails shined and my calloused heels were as smooth as a babies' booty! This was the best salon I've ever been to for getting my nails done. They were quick to respond via messages and flexible with my schedule as much as they could be. We were welcomed with cheer and smiles and offered a beverage. My gel manicure has held up for a month! While I was still in the area I did break a nail, my own fault. I'm giving a 4 star rating because Elena did a wonderful job on my nails. My issue was how she humiliated me in front of two other staff members and 3 customers. I had mentioned she did my eyelashes over a year ago. She looked it up and found I had scheduled an appointment that I did not show for or cancel. Don't get me wrong that was not right of me to do that and I normally do not. I was probably working or something. She went on about it saying it was basically rude of me. Had a great experience at Mulan! We were a last minute walk in and they took us right in and still took their time! The owner and other technician were great! We did the deluxe pedicure which comes with a peppermint mask. I don't like peppermint so they swapped mine out for a coconut flavor with no question! We finished after they had closed and they did not rush us out. They told us to wait as long as we needed for our toes to dry. Probably the best nail salon experience I've ever had! I had high hopes for the salon based on the reviews however my experience was not pleasant. The color I picked out was not at all the color I received and as it started getting darker as she added more coats I said this is not what I picked out this is very dark and she said oh it looks pretty and just kept doing my nails. Then I find out that it's $52 just for a fill which is more than I paid to even get my nails on in the first place but I guess to each its own when it comes to pricing. I was very upset about the color not being at all what I picked out so I paid and I left. I got home and called back to see if she would be willing to fix the color and she was not. She said that no one would be at the salon after 5 PM because they were closed however their hours state that they're open until 630 so I don't quite understand where that came from. Then a gentleman got on the phone and started arguing with me saying that I agreed to the color and that he heard everything I have no idea who this man is or what he was doing in the salon but I did agree to the color I picked out which was not at all the color that I received. Then she started getting irate and yelling at me and calling me ugly so I ended up just hanging up and unfortunately have to now go get my nails fixed somewhere else. The nails themselves were not too bad I do get a coffin shape and some of them were still very square but overall they weren't bad, It was just the color and the way things were handled after. Well, after 3 trips and 4 hours total in this salon for the same issue with bad polish, I spent WAY to much time and money here. Went on Saturday for matching gel polish on nails and toes- by Sunday, one nail flaking polish and all toe polish oxidized. Went back Monday for nail repair and and replace toenail polish. By Wednesday, same problem- toes oxidized and nail flaking. Went Friday to have polish replaced, and after my toes were completed, informed I needed to pay additional $22 for service. When explained why I shouldn't have to pay, I was informed my nails didn't need polish change and labor was invested into removing and repainting my polish. Well, what about my vacation time and gas wasted just trying to get what I paid for?? I wouldn't have needed my nail color changed had the polish been good. Not too mention the nail tech continually over talking me and touching me to get me to understand his position. Too much $ didn't here for the manager to treat customers this way. Never again. This place is clean, doesn't smell toxic, and everyone speaks English, which does help when you need to find a color or discuss anything. It's $35 for mani/pedi! So worth it! Such a great experience with the staff and a lovely pedi. No prices listed on the menu I was given and I surely wasn't looking for a price when given my receipt but tipped over 20% on the bill as it was a good experience. Then days later, my bank account was charged $18 more than what I had authorized and signed for....I called the business and was transferred to the owner who only argued with me that I had apparently received a deluxe pedi that was $45 but they had accidentally charged me $27 and she would only refund me if I gave her my card number over the phone- not happening! and then she started in that she would call my friend who came with me for the pedi to call as a "witness" I got the deluxe pedi that was more than what they charged me and I owed her money...ummm...what??? sorry-YOUR MISTAKE! I said she could send me a check for the $18 difference and we would call it even and she kept arguing I owed her the money. I told her I was calling the BBB and she asked what that was. She will soon find out as I filed a complaint with the BBB as they took out an amount I did not sign for nor authorize and I have also filed a fraudulent activity claim with my bank. I called and gave them a chance to make things right, right their wrong and suck up the mistake.
