We went there for iftar (ramadan 2018) and their iftar buffet was simply amazing. I couldn't have asked for more and was thrilled to see how well they have grown as a restaurant business with years passing by. I was so excited to try this place and i probably should have eaten there but it's far so i ordered to go. Everyone's plates at the restaurant looked full. However our to go food was basically alll sauce!! I got two orders of butter chicken, it was basically butter soup with two pieces of chicken, one container got lucky and had three! I ordered the nihari and had just ONE big chunk of meat. That's it ONE!!! The chicken 65 should be advertised as a side order! The kosh gohst has all bones and sauce - no joke! Went there during Ramadan month. Surprised to see authentic Pakistani style cooking. It was quite good. Although it says Pakistani and Indian, there is some difference in the way Pakistanis and Indians cook and this seems to be the former than the latter. read more

Great Pakistani food. We randomly found it while in Atlanta. We tried the goat biryani and the fried chops. All the food was excellent.

The food was disgusting, the service was terrible, and the staff is rude. I came for the buffet, but was notified that the buffet is only on the weeks, although the menu says otherwise. I ordered the chicken curry (how could you go wrong with that...right?). The entrees are $10 and do not even come with rice, so I had to order a side of rice for $3.50. The food was easily the most terrible food that I've ever had. When I was leaving, the cashier yelled at me for taking more than one mint. Lol, will never come back here and suggest you do the same. read more

I've been visiting this place for over a decade now. Last week I had guest, so I went to this place to order some food. While I placed the to-go order I requested the owner who was at the cash register to make sure the person who packs the order put everything like chutneys, onions, ginger, lime, coriander and etc., as I had problems in the past. He got so mad that he made us wait for an hour. I traveled 14 miles one way for the food. I reached home around 11:30PM, to my surprise most of the things were missing. I don't understand one thing, most of these Indo-Pak places charges high prices for their goods but don't believe in customer service. I request the owner to raise their prices (which is already high) for their food on the menu and include everything that goes with that particular dish as it shows in the pictures displayed in their restaurant. This intimate spot delivers a banging taste. Love the chicken kebob wrap. It's delicious. The chicken is minced with onions and Sauce. The wrap is always very fresh. Try it out - you won't regret it. We usually order take out. read more

My experience at this restaurant was consistent with what I have read in several other reviews. Simple, straightforward, unique from food I have had in any Indian restaurant, though there is a great deal of common ground with northern Indian food. We had a ground beef stew of some sort--helpful photographs of all the dishes at the counter (this is counter order, food brought to you at table style eating) made ordering much easier, as many dishes had names we were unfamiliar with. We also had a vegetable medley in a spicy curry sauce and a a spinach and potato dish somewhat like a saag paneer but with potatoes instead of Indian cheese. All three dishes were tasty and unique but extremely oily--indeed swimming in oil. The nan was just average, certainly not special. Recommended if you like spicy, don't mind very oily and want something significantly different from what you'll find elsewhere. No frills restaurant where what you see is what you get. read more

Went for the lunch buffet and left disappointed. It's a bare bones kindof place - plastic silverware, paper napkins, cooler of help-yourself soft drinks, cricket on a big-screen TV - which made it seem promising in my book. But the buffet options just weren't very good. We had butter chicken (super bland and oily), mixed veg curry (seemed to be made from not fully defrosted canned veggie mix, watery yellow dal (fine), naan (onion naan--pretty good!) and pakora (more chickpea batter than filling). Maybe it's a place to go for takeover of individual dishes, which is cool--every place has its strengths/weaknesses. But would not recommend the buffet. read more

I love Mughals have been coming for more than 15 years but the quality has been a bit variable lately, especially the kadhai gosht, their signature item. May be the chef has changed. read more

Last time we try this place!!! The food is not really that good anymore! On top of that, the people are seriously careless and don't know how to run a real restaurant. When we dined in last time, we waited 45 minutes to even get our order. No one bothers to at least let you know if the kitchen backed up. This time, just order 2 bun kabobs. 15 minutes later, come to find out they were sitting on a table while the rest of the staff just chatted-again careless!! One of the desi delicacies that spell a party is Chicken 65. The search for a flavorful chicken 65 led me to Mughals. The restaurant is not in one of the best locations, it is tucked in the corner of a strip mall which is home to a lot of discount stores, a laundromat and probably the only other restaurant in the mall is a wingz and thingz kinda place. The restaurant is well lit, with flat screens playing cricket. The ambience is warm as the restaurant seems to be inviting a lot of regulars, always a good sign. It is a self service restaurant and the people behind the counter are always busy attending to the phone for take our orders and controlling the line but seem fairly welcoming. If you are not planning to stay you have the option for calling in the order and paying at pickup. In my personal experience one of the good things about self service restaurants is that they make for good conversations without the pressure for getting the bill too early or too late. Location and ambience apart the food here is really worth a try. Biriyanis: I tried both the chicken and goat biriyani. The biriyanis are pretty decent with a good balance of flavor, rice to meat ratio, rice texture, cook on the meat, spice level, aroma and look. One of things preventing the biriyani from being phenomenal is the amount of oil that may weigh down the rice from being that extra fluffy goodness that it could have been. Chicken 65: The chicken 65 here is really worth a mention for the spiced marinade. The chicken and crispiness are OK but the marinade and the flavor of this appetizer is just the best that I have had in atlanta. One of the regular dishes I order here is the chicken 65 and can easily be the reason for our multiple visits. Of the other items that I have tried the seekh kabob and achari chicken are decent. The restaurant only serves a few non alcoholic beverages and does not allow the option for BYOB which might accompany the really good appetizers. That might explain the number of take out orders they receive. All in all, one of the better desi self serve restaurants in Atlanta. Definitely recommend for biriyani and chicken 65. read more

We ate here for Eid lunch, and it was absolutely delicious! It is a classic hole-in-the-wall place with delicious food. Unfortunately we missed the buffet which also includes halwa poori so we had to order a la carte. We had the nihari, fresh naan, chicken biryani, chicken 55, and tandoori platter! Everything was amazing and perfectly seasoned. At the end we each had 2-3 cups of their amazing chai, although it did take forever for them to make it. It's not a fancy place, and not such great service, but excellent food is what it's all about here. read more

Have been coming here for years. While the restaurant is not the cleanest, it very close to home-style Pakistani food that you'll get. Try the chicken samosas or the biriyani. All of their food is spicy, so be prepared. ( I'd have it no other way ) Very busy place especially on Sundays for their brunch. read more

It was our first time and went on Saturday at 3pm. We had lunch buffet which was $9.99. we felt very happy after having delicious food at maughals. We tried all items such as naan, veg. Biriyani,etc. In that kheema chicken ,tandoori chicken and mutton was excellent. Had sweet kesari halwa which was also good. The sad thing was we missed the pawn which was $.150 extra. I have no idea how this place gets 4 or 5 stars. We went out of our way to get to this place after yelping reviews for some north-indian/pakistani food. Went on a weekday buffet. I must say that I was summarily disappointed. The buffet selection was poor and few, food was anything but tasty. Every buffet dish floating in an oily mess. Desserts are brought to you at the table in little styrofoam cups. Talked to the owner (supposedly) who was billing at the walk up counter who seemed nonchalant and least interested in a customer's point of view. Not worth the drive or the experience. There are simply way better options around all around town. read more

My buddy from work had read a good review of this Indian/Pakistani/[something else--Bengali?] place in Norcross, along with nearby Lazeez. Lazeez was our first choice, but they were closed for remodeling, so we ended up here. We didn't have much of an idea of what to order, so we asked the hostess for any recommendations. Not too helpful, she pointed to several items in the lunch buffet and said they were good. We probably would've done better to order from the standard menu, but we didn't know what was what. The buffet was pretty limited, and more expensive on Fridays than other days ($8.99). Some items were too flavorful in a bad way, other items that I was hoping would be flavorful in a good way were not that flavorful. The naan and the chicken were good (my buddy thought the chicken was too greasy), other dishes weren't that great. So in the end, I'd say we regretted our choice. (Note: They have "brain" on the menu. Good luck with that.) read more
