Five stars for their espresso Cortado. They do a great job at making espresso here. It's smooth, strong and delicious. Since it's a coffee shop, I'm giving them five stars because the coffee is amazing here and the espresso is fantastic. However, I will never get a Matcha latte here. They mix their Matcha with sugar so you cannot get it unsweetened. Another pitfall is they use Styrofoam cups. When hot liquid is put into Styrofoam cups they leach chemicals into your drink. I will never drink out of a Styrofoam cup so I will never come here if I'm getting a drink to go. This coffee shop needs to get with modern times less sugar and better environmentally friendly products. One of the other good things they do to end on a good note is they make all their baked goods in house from scratch. Mostly sugar items they do offer a banana bread that might be a little less sugar, but I don't know for sure.

Highly recommend stopping by here if you are looking for an excellent coffee or tea beverage. They also have delicious peanut butter cookies here that are gluten free. Other cookies and pastries can be purchased, as well as bagels, and hitch looked delicious. I did noticed that there are other gluten free options available besides the peanut butter cookies. The coffee beverage I ordered was on the seasonal menu. It tasted amazing! Great balance of ingredients to the coffee. The staff here was friendly and helpful. They can create delicious beverages. Look forward to returning soon to try other items!

Excellent coffee! Met a friend here for a latte and we did not regret it. The place is a little hidden in a strip plaza but it is a gem! They make their syrups homemade and have a variety of non-dairy milk options...including my favorite - macadamia nut milk :) I got a vanilla-caramel macadamia nut milk latte and my friend got a blackberry latte - both were incredible! We could definitely tell the syrups are homemade...such good flavor. We each got doubles and they are pretty big, just FYI. A little pricey too but you get what you pay for! We shared a cinnamon roll too which was absolutely delicious. The barista even warmed it up for us! Super friendly service - I'll be back!

Ugh. There is so much to say about this awesome coffee shop! I discovered Muggswigz while I was in the area and looking for coffee. I'm all about trying every coffee shop in Akron, so I was excited to try another shop. I've since made Muggswigz My Coffee Shop. The coffee and food are delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. I respect their response to the pandemic. However, more important to me is that this coffee shop allows me to enjoy coffee and food while still pursuing Zero Waste ideals. I can bring in a reusable cup (or bring in a to go cup and have it disposed of properly). I can bring in my own to go containers to take out food. All of these options help ensure I cut down on waste while still enjoying coffee and super yummy food. I love this and will keep coming back!

Was in the area and wanted a coffee. Cute seating areas and hard working staff, my coffee drink was good but it was so sweet I couldn't finish it. A bit pricey for a coffee shop in Akron.

The third location of one of America's best coffee houses is now open! Muggswigz has for years been one of my favorite places to get coffee and tea from but don't go as often since I moved out of Stark County. The new location in Portage Lakes is now close enough to at least visit more often! The Portage Lakes location seems a little more quaint and has more of the "Muggswigz feel" than the Lake Cable location. There is enough seating for about 30 people too including some big and many small tables. Muggswigz sources and roasts their own coffee and makes many of their delicious syrups and tea blends. So if you're a fan of Muggswigz and are in the area then definitely check it out. If you're new to Muggswigz then be prepared to enjoy some of the best coffee you can get anywhere!

Tres leche cake and a chai latte

I had no idea this little gem was hidden on my regular route out to portage lakes! Large but not losing the cozy, coffee shop feel, Muggswigz is a great place to grab a cuppa. I ordered the chai tea latte, something I order everywhere I go. Just strong enough, perfect amount of foam (meaning not much), and made super fast to boot. The tres leche cake is to die for. Moist, rich, sure to give me diabetes. In a word: perfect! And the presentation is just as appealing. The barista is super sweet and the whole feel is very pleasant. I'm so glad I stopped in to check out this place. I'm sure I'll be back to try more of their delicious looking baked goods and coffee blends!

Espresso tastes burnt and it was really expensive for a caramel macchiato. $9! Cost more than a venti from Starbucks and tastes awful

Love their lattes! A little on the pricier side, but I spend that at Starbucks and they are 10x'a better!

The owners placed musical instruments including two guitars throughout the seating area and a PAC MAN machine in the corner. While I was there a father and his sons did a great job displaying their talents while they waited for their order and entertained us well. The atmosphere is relaxing. The choice of seating, music, and decor creates a very relaxing environment. The music I heard, I think, was a mixture of new age and smooth sounds. The seating is a mixture of black leather love seats, couches, and tables with black seats. What I think is so cool is the PAC MAN game that sits in the corner!! The owner must be a PAC MAN fan because his phone has the PAC MAN sounds on it. I heard them when he was in the store using his phone The menu is a traditional coffee shop that combines coffee, teas, smoothies, and sandwiches. But they put their own Akron and personal twist to all their menu items and so you'll find menu items here that you can't find any else. I'm really curious about their craft herbal drinks and what looks like a craft citrus honey with lemon drink. They also have a variety of baked goods that look decadent and delicious. I love their top notch BB merchandise. BB is the only establishment that I've ever seen do temperature checks!! It's like those radars that check your car speed So cool! Kudos to BB!

I discovered Pearl a few years ago through word of mouth and my employer where Pearl Coffee was sold and served. This is a review of my personal visits to their place of business on Broadway. In the last 5 months I've bought a pound of coffee every several weeks. I usually showed up on a weekday shortly before closing. I've tried a single origin Ethiopian, their Pumpkin Spice blend, and their Diana Blend. For my experience purchasing coffee and asking about available coffee it seems Pearl primarily roasts medium to dark coffees. The Diana Blend is their lightest roast. I usually drink single origin light roasts from microroasters and their Diana Blend is more like a medium roast. The Diana Blend is a really enjoyable blend and it's no wonder it is their best selling. It's consistently good as well. I think they have over 30 different coffees, from Pumpkin Spice to single origins from Ethiopia. I like the variety. Whole bean and ground coffee available. They also sell syrups, some tea bags and other season items. Buying at their Broadway location is easy and simple. When I first visited I didn't know what I wanted and they were able to offer me a couple coffees based on my preferences. I've stuck with the Diana Blend because it's good and right now it's $7.50 a pound. I believe you can order ahead and pick up at the store. I've seen orders sitting out. The staff are very nice and friendly. Walking into the store is like walking back into history with the pictures and newspapers clippings on the walls telling the history of Pearl Coffee and the old coffee equipment on display. Their connection to the local community and relationship with their patrons is evidenced by the many pictures of their patrons on the walls. Their is also a little section in the back with other coffee decorative items, I believe. I sort of remember wandering back there while waiting. Try some coffee from Pearl Coffee. I recommend their Diana Blend.
