Located in an ordinary strip mall, the seasonal drinks at Muggswigz were anything but ordinary. We ordered a small baklava latte and a small pumpkin pie latte. They were absolutely incredible. Delicious flavor, generous size for a small, and served at the perfect temps. Lovely Latin music was playing the day we visited and it wasn't busy at all, so we had our choice of seating to enjoy our beverages. The atmosphere was eclectic and open, which creates the potential for it to be loud with many people present. Recommend for their coffee. We will be back. read more

Cute coffee shop that has tasty specialty lattes. The service is very nice and the wifi is spotty. The music is chill with many genres playing. They offer different pastry options which look good although I'm not into cookie dough. My only complaint, which is a massive complaint, is the to-go cups they serve hot coffee drinks in is made of styrofoam which leech toxic chemicals in our steaming hot beverages! Please for the sake of your customers health and well being switch to paper cups!! Other than that it has everything a coffee shop should offer. read more

Five stars for their espresso Cortado. They do a great job at making espresso here. It's smooth, strong and delicious. Since it's a coffee shop, I'm giving them five stars because the coffee is amazing here and the espresso is fantastic. However, I will never get a Matcha latte here. They mix their Matcha with sugar so you cannot get it unsweetened. Another pitfall is they use Styrofoam cups. When hot liquid is put into Styrofoam cups they leach chemicals into your drink. I will never drink out of a Styrofoam cup so I will never come here if I'm getting a drink to go. This coffee shop needs to get with modern times less sugar and better environmentally friendly products. One of the other good things they do to end on a good note is they make all their baked goods in house from scratch. Mostly sugar items they do offer a banana bread that might be a little less sugar, but I don't know for sure. read more

Highly recommend stopping by here if you are looking for an excellent coffee or tea beverage. They also have delicious peanut butter cookies here that are gluten free. Other cookies and pastries can be purchased, as well as bagels, and hitch looked delicious. I did noticed that there are other gluten free options available besides the peanut butter cookies. The coffee beverage I ordered was on the seasonal menu. It tasted amazing! Great balance of ingredients to the coffee. The staff here was friendly and helpful. They can create delicious beverages. Cute little coffee and tea shop. In a little strip mall. Plenty of parking. Nice and comfy on the inside. Prices around Starbucks levels. A few big chairs in the back. Maybe a few big chairs in the front be nice too. Our group got some chai tea and hot chocolate. All tastee and good. Made quickly. Didn't fill up the cup to the top. Could have used another little bit more to the top. Also could have been a bit hotter. Didn't look like there was a lot to eat or snack on. We weren't really looking for a snack but didn't seem like a lot was offered or there was anything. Overall tasted good and I'd go back and try something else. read more

Excellent coffee! Met a friend here for a latte and we did not regret it. The place is a little hidden in a strip plaza but it is a gem! They make their syrups homemade and have a variety of non-dairy milk options...including my favorite - macadamia nut milk :) I got a vanilla-caramel macadamia nut milk latte and my friend got a blackberry latte - both were incredible! We could definitely tell the syrups are homemade...such good flavor. We each got doubles and they are pretty big, just FYI. A little pricey too but you get what you pay for! We shared a cinnamon roll too which was absolutely delicious. The barista even warmed it up for us! Super friendly service - I'll be back! read more

The service is very slow and inefficient. The barista is often alone working on the morning (at least, every time I have come). She takes one order at a time and then goes and makes it. Each person takes 4-10 minutes. Not kidding. I ordered a latte and it literally was filled with just foam - more like a bone dry cappuccino. Not good. Not worth the wait. read more

Ugh. There is so much to say about this awesome coffee shop! I discovered Muggswigz while I was in the area and looking for coffee. I'm all about trying every coffee shop in Akron, so I was excited to try another shop. I've since made Muggswigz My Coffee Shop. The coffee and food are delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. I respect their response to the pandemic. However, more important to me is that this coffee shop allows me to enjoy coffee and food while still pursuing Zero Waste ideals. I can bring in a reusable cup (or bring in a to go cup and have it disposed of properly). I can bring in my own to go containers to take out food. All of these options help ensure I cut down on waste while still enjoying coffee and super yummy food. I love this and will keep coming back! read more

I don't usually frequent the Akron area but was killing some time before a tattoo appointment when a yelp search said this was the closest coffee shop. I unfortunately deleted the photos I took but this is a really cozy space, the guy working was really nice. He talked me through the different chai options, and since they sell loose leaf tea he suggested the chestnut black tea based on preferences. The chai was delicious and I've been brewing the chestnut tea almost every night since I got it. I will most definitely be making another stop here if I have a reason to be back in Akron! read more

The third location of one of America's best coffee houses is now open! Muggswigz has for years been one of my favorite places to get coffee and tea from but don't go as often since I moved out of Stark County. The new location in Portage Lakes is now close enough to at least visit more often! The Portage Lakes location seems a little more quaint and has more of the "Muggswigz feel" than the Lake Cable location. There is enough seating for about 30 people too including some big and many small tables. Muggswigz sources and roasts their own coffee and makes many of their delicious syrups and tea blends. So if you're a fan of Muggswigz and are in the area then definitely check it out. If you're new to Muggswigz then be prepared to enjoy some of the best coffee you can get anywhere! read more

I had no idea this little gem was hidden on my regular route out to portage lakes! Large but not losing the cozy, coffee shop feel, Muggswigz is a great place to grab a cuppa. I ordered the chai tea latte, something I order everywhere I go. Just strong enough, perfect amount of foam (meaning not much), and made super fast to boot. The tres leche cake is to die for. Moist, rich, sure to give me diabetes. In a word: perfect! And the presentation is just as appealing. The barista is super sweet and the whole feel is very pleasant. I'm so glad I stopped in to check out this place. I'm sure I'll be back to try more of their delicious looking baked goods and coffee blends! read more

Got the Russian Tea Biscuit Latte which was bomb and we had their breakfast sandwiches and a slice of chocolate babka. The food and drinks were delish. Service was remarkably slow though. We waited so long for each item and then when we were finally down to the last missing peice and sat down outside they didn't even bother to bring it out to us even though there were no other customers after us and the inside was empty. I'm so glad the Portage Lakes location was opened! My husband and I would make the 30min drive to Lake Cable just to get coffee. Don't get me wrong, we have a good local coffee shop but this is the BEST place for a mocha!! I want to try other drinks but the mocha is sooo good I can't pass it up. Their baked goods look delicious, but I've not indulged in them. However, my daughter tried a peanut butter morsi and loved it. read more

First timer and will return. The feel, the smell the product and service are first rate. Our person at the check out, knew his stuff and since it was a little slow not only answered some questions but provided a lot more useful info from the art work displayed that you can buy and the teas and coffees.
