Decided to trade in the GMC pickup for a Dodge Ram to pull our fifth wheel rv. In mid camping trip, after picking up the truck and having them give us back our hitch, we needed to find someone to quickly install our hitch on the new truck, in order to get our rig home from our current trip!!! We called Mufflers West in Temecula and got Chris! He politely and clearly explained that our Reese hitch would not fit the 2013 Dodge Ram properly. He arranged to get us in the next day and got us into a (American made!!!) Curt hitch that works perfectly with the tow system in the Ram! We also take our hitch out sometimes when we need the entire truck bed, and he explained very thoroughly to us how to do that as well. Knowledgeable, Experienced, and Honest! My 2010 Nissan Altima Coupe had an exhaust leak caused by a crack between my catalytic converter and exhaust manifold. I called Rancho Smog who has performed smog checks on my 2 vehicles for years, and I asked them if the knew a good honest mechanic who could weld the crack. They referred me to West Muffler. I called and spoke to the owner Chris, and I told him about the crack. Chris then explained to me in detail the crack as thou he was actually looking at it. I told Chris that's exactly what the crack looked like. Chris said it was not to uncommon, and he has weldeled a few of those on my make and model. I knew right then I had someone who was both knowledgeable and experienced. He gave me an estimate over the telephone, and I set an appointment. Chris is an honest guy who knows what he is doing! I am very impressed! I needed to install a fifth wheel hitch to my truck to tow my trailer. I had been to several places and gotten several different quotes from people and no one seemed to know what they were talking about. Different businesses were all telling us different information and changing their minds about the kinds of hitch we would need installed. I found Mufflers West by fate when I looked up the road as I was waiting at the DMV. After 30 seconds of speaking with Chris, I could tell he knew EXACTLY what he was talking about (Fifth wheel hitches are much more complicated than a standard trailer hitch). When I walked into Mufflers West, I had spent nearly 4 months and a lot of money trying to get a smog problem fixed on my 25 year old car. I went here thinking that I was going to have to replace catalytic converter(s) as told by the last place I had gone. Had my 96 Chevy truck with a Flowmaster Super 50 cat back installed with chrome rolled tip. Nice side angle exit & a perfectly balance of deep tone and rumble, not too aggressive. Chris matched the right muffler to type of truck and engine, he knows his stuff. Certainly not a hot rod truck to consider other series aggressive sound options, so Super 50 is a perfect fit & workmanship is excellent in comparison to an 18yr old Magnaflow cat back setup that was in desperate need of repair. Super great experience and didn't even have the car worked on. We had our muffler fall off on the highway, and Chris was honest in saying that he was too busy to fix it in the next two days. We were on a tight schedule, road tripping from Indiana to Los Angeles, so we asked for a few places that might be able to help. He suggested Midas, which was closed, so we went our own way and took it to Meineke. Bad idea. The guys at Meineke wanted to charge us at least $2,500 over the course of 2-3 days to fix this piece. And by "fix" I mean they wanted to order an entire new 18-foot tailpipe with the muffler and CAT, all from the Mercedes dealer, and install it. That didn't sound right... I called Chris back, who answered immediately and said I definitely needed a second opinion, that it shouldn't cost near that much to simply cut the pipe and weld on a new muffler and small tailpipe segment. Again, he suggested Midas. This time I followed his direction. Of course, it was a huge hassle negotiating with Meineke to please give me the keys back (our dumb selves already put down a $1000 deposit by the way), and we drove it to Midas. Bo and his team at Midas fixed it that day, in less than 3 hours, for under $450... Holy shit. Life saver. We are still working on getting our money back from Meineke, but In the end I'm just thankful for honest and helpful people like Chris at Muffler's West. Thanks fam. read more

Chris's prices are always on POINT! Whenever I go there, he is always the lowest price, and does the work in a VERY TIMELY manner. As far as these other people griping over $100.00, that's their fault. Cars are a very complex machine, and they are updating the cars constantly, if you don't go to an auto center prepared to spend a few extra bucks once the hood gets opened, that's on you. He quotes the work, sticks to or stays very close to what was quoted, and gets the car done, which in the end, is all that really matters. They do great in a very difficult world to do so. I just purchased a 2014 F350 and a new La Mar Dump Trailer and was not able to have the brake controller in the truck modulate the brakes on the dump trailer. I had a couple of people look at it and they could not figure it out - after several attempts. Chris the owner diagnosed it and after about 15 minutes said that the existing brake controller in the truck was still good but that it was wired incorrectly. That likely caused a fuse to blow. He said he wired it up correctly and replaced the fuse and it was good to go. I asked if he would recommend a different brake controller and he said the one that was in there can work but if you want a more robust unit to go with a Tekomsha P2 I said lets go ahead and replace it. 20 minutes later he showed me how to program it. Everything worked. I will definitely take my other trucks to Chris. Quality work at a reasonable price. I have been looking for someone who knows what he is doing. This is the place. Mufflers West is AWESOME!! I've used them a couple of times before and they were great but recently I needed help and they totally saved me. I was going to Arizona to pick up a fifth wheel I bought and the hitch I ordered for my truck didn't work. I am a flight attendant and had just flown in two nights before I needed to leave. I was going to install the hitch the day before but then realized it totally didn't work. I went to Mufflers West around 11:30 and talked to Chris and by 4:00 he had a new hitch installed. Drove 35 miles to this shop after calling them the day before. Once I got there they turned me down because I had headers which I had told them the day before on the phone.. All I needed done was to install some high flow cats, not purchased from them, and a magnaflow resonated xpipe. Everything installed would be past the headers and would be exhaust work. Called multiple muffler shops in the area and all of them were willing to help me. Way to lose a customer and thanks for wasting my time. read more

I can't say enough about Chris and Mufflers West. I originally stop by with a 73 CJ5 rebuild. Within a few minutes you can tell Chris is knowledgeable and really cares about his business. Criss went over a few options and explained the pros and cons over each. Do to the limited space this was not the easiest job. After a few days and Chris wanting to do a clean and professional job he recommended a few changes to the jeep. Switching out exhaust manifolds, remote location oil filter and showing me exactly how the exhaust would run underneath. I took it back home and made the changes and took the time to secure, heat wrap some of the areas that would be close to the exhaust. I dropped it off again and Chris worked his magic. Chris took his time and his attention to detail shows in his work. Let me say again Chris takes pride in his work and business.
