My daughter needed a replacement catalytic converter for her 2010 Jeep Wrangler which had developed 2 leaks. I was referred to Muffler World by a friend. I called and spoke to Angel who was professional, accommodating and explained the cost of parts and labor to install a new catalytic converter, making sure it was coded and compatible with California emissions standards. I made an appointment with Angel to drop off the Jeep overnight. They installed the new converter the next day at total cost that was reasonable. My '07 HHR had an exhaust leak, I suspected either the flex connector or the exhaust manifold. I spoke with Angel at Muffler World and he said he would diagnose and get back with me. The leak turned out to be the exhaust manifold, which was cracked. Angel replaced it in a few hours at a very reasonable price. The car is a LOT quieter now! I bought a GM truck from Ohio and knew from the previous owner that the exhaust was trashed. Well, it was definitely that when it arrived. I needed a new exhaust and catalytic converter so I could get raped by the State of California when I went to register it. Brought it in and spoke with Angel. Angel has a similar mode truck to mine and walked me out to his and started it up so I could see how he did his own exhaust. We walked the rough everything and I left him with a cash deposit. It is pretty obvious that Angel loves what he does and is dedicated to his craft. His customer service skills are second to none. He even went so far as to call me and ask if I wanted him to replace the spark plugs since he was going to be working on installing the headers. They were in bad shape and I appreciate that he was considerate enough to ask. Got the truck back today and you could tell by the grin on my face when he started it up that I love the work he did. I didn't want the loud exhaust in the cab. From the way installed it it sounds like a stock exhaust from the can but she growls from the outside. I highly recommend you visit with Angel. Muffler World in Indio, CA Understanding fully that a mechanic has to be able to see a car to answer a question concretely, I can't be the only woman who is still interested in asking a few generic questions in advance of a scheduled appointment. My first question was, what were the POSSIBLE repairs costs, (just a rough window), two, what parts may be needed (so I could or they could perhaps order them in advance to coming in) and can they, or will they, do the repairs with 'Universal Parts' (which are significantly less costly) My third question was about how long do they think they'll need the vehicle so I could arrange for a ride home and/or a rental car. Fair questions, right? I thought so~ Just don't ask the owner of Muffler World.. Not only will he not even let you finish even one of the above questions, he will insult you for even asking! In my experience, anyone who would speak to a customer like that, (particularly a woman who knows so little about mechanics), has gotten away with speaking like that to many customers for some time. I have 97 lexus and to do both catalytic converters was 840 and to do a muffler delete 180. I was fine with it all but once i was ready to pick up the car. He told he fix two things and charge me an extra 120 dollars and wouldnt even show me what it was. Also with the muffler delete, i thought i was getting new exhaust tips but it was just the originally ones. Like 180 just for the muffler? Thats expensive. Well where to start? I've never left a bad review for a business, most of the time I just wouldn't take my business back. This one was worth the effort of a review. I purchased an aftermarket exhaust system from a well known Company. I called around and this business was rated high on google(my mistake should have checked Yelp as well). I went in person and explained, I had an exhaust system, could they do the work, the owner said yeah yeah. He would talk over me most of time. So I figured he was that good, yeah right. Well I dropped system off day prior so he had a chance look it over, if there were any obstacles we would tie into or add on into estimate. He then stated,"this is a lot it might be more", I said; "that's fine whatever it takes to get it right", I had no problem paying more for a good job. Left my vehicle next day, noticed the box for my exhaust wasn't open, well I guess he's that good. I get call later, it's complete. I get to shop and there are no exhaust tips on my car. I go in and he states, the "factory tips won't work they're welded". I told him they would and it's a tig weld you have to break, he says way too much work, ok so I go outta my way to call the company that manufactures my exhaust they talk me through and provide a number to their service dept. to walk you through any issues, you might be facing. I attempt to give Owner the number. Then here we go, "I've been doing this for 37 years" and blah blah blah. A lot of attitude for no reason besides trying to resolve an issue, I calm him down and let him know I don't appreciate a incomplete job or the attitude. No effort whatsoever to call the manufacturer to resolve this small issue. To top matters off, he's done for day and I'm expected to take car incomplete and pay. Lol this guy, he offered to leave vehicle there but I didn't trust him anymore. Not to mention I dropped the vehicle off when they opened. I took rest of work down street to Pacific Exhaust II and took em 30 mins to finish rest of job as well, fix issues that were made by prior installer. Definitely do your homework folks, this shop is probably good with their preferred systems, but that's as far as it goes in my case. $190.00 to install a muffler they provide the muffler. Not bad right. The only thing that I did not like was that i noticed my tool bag was ransack why ??? Milwaukee tools plus had my payroll notebook in the bag. I had seen it nicely fitted and when the truck was brought bk to the front. The muffler did not sound at all i have a chevy 2020 regular cab. I asked the owner hey how can i make it louder. He tells me it will cost you an additional $150 to add new pipe to the bk. Came here a couple months ago to get a muffler and resonator delete on my Camry. It was good work to what I seen but I noticed the way the old welder did it and my piping was hanging. Turns out he did a bullshit job. So I come back this morning and the owner realized what had happened and fixed the problem. He was very respectful and explained what was going on. They refused to pull the invoice which was a duplicate copy. These guys are shady. They wouldn't even take the dollar amount I was charged with proof from my bank for proof that I got a crappy spot welded muffler.
