I had previously went to another store to see if the work I wanted done on my Tundra was possible. After finding out a few unrelated stores couldn't do the work I came across Tint World. I went through the same process of coming by with my truck and explaining what I wanted done to make sure it was possible. I met Nadeem and told him I wanted star lights and ambient lighting throughout. He looked at my truck and assured me it could be done and that it would take "two days." He quoted me $2200 and I agreed that was a fare price and I'd come back after the weekend to leave him the vehicle. I dropped my truck off on Monday morning. I reached out towards the end of the business day for an update and had no response. The following day Tuesday Nadeem told me it may take an extra day and that they were working through some issues. I told him that was fine and to just keep me informed. At the end of Tuesday Nadeem had messaged me and apologized that he didn't realize the material on the moon roof which is about 80% of the headliner space with these panoramic moon roofs wasn't possible to achieve the starlight feature. He said he added them on the perimeter. This was done before asking for approval after he knew what I wanted at the beginning. He told me to rush over that evening because the truck was now complete. I hurried over from Round Rock only to find a numerous amount of concerns. This was far from a "white glove experience." The headliner fabric had obvious tears that needed to be addressed, a number of stars not completely penetrated, the shooting star feature which he sold me on was non existent. He later admitted they installed it incorrectly for that to work. The lights were functional through Bluetooth but the music feature for the lights did not work. The ambient lighting wasn't symmetrical in the front of the vehicle and was cut short and uneven. It was also Bluetooth functioned. When the ambient lighting music feature was used it caused my music to cut in and out on the stereo. Nadeem explained after the fact that both the star light Bluetooth and ambient light Bluetooth would cause music cut out because it can't work simultaneously with musics Bluetooth. Wow. This would have been great to be updated on before installation. I cannot use these features I've now paid for simultaneously with my music. Multiple door pieces and the trim over the odometer were missing stock clips to keep them tight and connected. He had an employee who also works for Toyota "come up" with those pieces to later reattach my vehicle. I explained to Nadeem how this experience felt and he just blankly stared at me with little to no response. He accepted fault and offered me $100 dollars off. At checkout the price went from 2200 to 2500 because he forgot to mention taxes. I told him in the future when quoting a customer he should give them the "out of door" price because taxes on 2200 is game changing. He didn't have anything to say. As I was leaving he offered a window tint. I told him my windows were already tinted and he told me he could match the back windows with the front. I agreed. When I got home I noticed the ambient lighting on the doors doesn't automatically turn off with the car. They stay on in the front and turn off in the back. I called Nadeem and he told me the doors hold reserve power and that I would have to manually turn them off each time when I turn my car off. Nadeem had one of his employees call me to come back in after taking my car back to fix some of the issues. He wasn't there when I arrived to make sure things were fixed. My headliner lights and visor lights were no longer working after the new installation of ambient lights. My music still skipped and wouldn't play from the starlight app, and Nadeem wouldn't respond to my messages. His employee kept saying Nadeem is the only one. He clearly ran away from providing any type of customer care. I was shown text messages that nothing further would be fixed and that I'm no longer welcome for service. Nadeem cuts corners and doesn't take responsibility for his mistakes. I have the texts to prove it. I warn anybody who has any plans to service their vehicle here. At this point with the price I paid I was completely frustrated. He told me he would give me my money back but to never step foot in his store. I felt like this response was completely unnecessary. I don't need my money back I just want the things I paid for to work and meet expectation. I don't usually write reviews but I felt this was necessary. I made the mistake of adding after market features to my tundra with less than 1000 miles. Shame on me. However, as a business it's upsetting to know owners don't go above and beyond to make things right.

Infinity Conversions has applied a decal (purchased by us elsewhere) to our baby's helmet not once, but twice, done an excellent job, and refused to accept any payment for it. Specifically, I've worked with Patrick both times, who has been accommodating, caring, and an all-around pleasure to interact with. We have yet to go to them for auto needs, but we will be their customers for that in the future! Just wanted to give them some praise because I believe in supporting businesses that have excellent people and customer service.

I walked in and asked "is Mike here today"? He responded "he is here today...just not right now". He had a smug attitude and at first I just thought he just wasn't good at being funny. Then when I took him out to show him what I needed and an issue I was having, he said I was doing something wrong. Again maybe I was but his smug attitude showed through again. After waiting 1 1/2 hours for an install of my toolbox that I was told would take 20 to 30 minutes I approached James and asked if everything was going okay with the install. The reason I asked is because the first tool box ordered didn't fit. He again had an attitude when telling me they were working on it. When told him that I only asked because of how long it was taking his reply was simply "ok" and he walked off to help someone else. Not a "I'm sorry" or we are doing this or that, just a dismissive "ok". If you can only treat your customers good and not all customers of your business then James should find another job. On the bright side, Mike is great, their products are great and their prices are great. Just make sure to ask for Mike when you go see them. If I had to deal with James anytime I came in I would choose another business. Update: I watched him deal with an elderly lady (after 2 hours...still there). He was dismissive to her as well. She became frustrated with how he was treating her as well. You could tell it in her voice. He may be a great installer but he really has no business in customer service. I am an executive in a retail company for 20 years now and if I saw any of my employees treat people this was I would make a change.

I dropped my car off on Sunday for a simple radio and backup camera install, and days later, it's still not done. That's not just inconvenient--it's unacceptable. They even broke my AC vent, and no one took accountability. No fix offered. No apology. Just excuses and delays. What's worse? I personally witnessed techs lounging around, laughing, playing on phones, while one poor guy did all the work. Others were nowhere to be found for long periods. If this is how they run their shop, it's no wonder nothing gets done. They've made me drop off, pick up, and return vehicles multiple times, wasting gas, time, and patience. I'm not a car expert, but I know it doesn't take 3+ days to install a basic radio and a camera. This is pure carelessness. At this point, I want my money back. Custom Sounds has wasted my time, mishandled my car, and failed to deliver even the most basic service. If you value your time and your vehicle--go to Mother's Window Tint or literally anywhere else. This guy that he sent had to come back because break line and components came off next day while driving. I have pics and texts to prove. My GM 6.2 V8 come to find out common problem for that motor lifters went out so I went to him for the engine replacement. His price quoted was pretty good so I gave him a shot. My car was not even drivable this whole time (we had to wait on engine and things for months) yet I get a call the day he test drives it for the first time and he tells me I need new steering column. The car did not go in for steering issues. It was completely fine. He blames it on wear and tire from my lift and big tires. I call the people who did my lift and I called covert Cadillac certified mechanics and gave the history of car and lift and all and they called BS. My fault for not driving to Frank's place to see for myself. So I pick it up after engine replacement and steering column replacement. I get not but a mile down road from his shop and no acceleration and engine is just revving up loud . I coast off the road to luckily a gas station right there. What looks like oil and grease is splattered all over undercarriage and side and back windows. I have pics of all this. Transmission line came off. I won't give any more specific on this because I'm in process of filing the lawsuit and taking him to court. So He has a guy come meet me, I took video of his mechanics actions and what he did and Frank telling him on the phone I'm good to go, needless to say he screwed up. I get home and next day the car does it again right as I drive out of my home. I call Frank to get it towed back to his shop which is about 45 min to an hour from Lakeway. Frank gets car back, now he tells me I need new transmission. After transmission I go back to car to pickup and I go to open my door and there was mechanic grease all over headliner and seats, spilled oil on my rubber mats, bird shit all over the outside and dust and pollen caked the interior. He left windows cracked. I took pics of everything as proof. He decides to offer me a detail, so he sends me down the road. He paid for it yet I waited 3 hours. What I'm paid for my time in work you could say was a bigger loss. The fact alone my car was in that condition when he called to tell me it was ready is reason alone you shouldn't use him. I've included pics with this post. I could go on with several other smaller things I asked him to do while he had my car for engine replacement and transmission repair that I needed done. He never fixed them. I again have proof where he acknowledges he forgot so now I have to reschedule to have him finish the job. I also recorded most of our phone conversations that prove he apologizes for messing up. It came to the point where I was recording the convos because prior to me doing that it was just word salad on his part and I knew it this point I needed to document for the court. You would be amazed how many texts I have where I have had to constantly follow up and check on him after he would give me a supposed timeline or update with a promise he would keep me updated. I'm convinced all these reviews on here that are high stars aren't legit whatsoever. I have meticulously documented everything with pics, texts and phone conversations. If you're smart and reading this don't give him your business no matter how well quoted he may be . He may try to defend himself with a reply like some others he's done to on here. I've got it all though m, the truth. I was always extremely nice in all my texts to him, I was at the mercy of his screw ups and didn't want to be a jerk. No matter what when your rude or a jerk you run the risk to be even more screwed over so I chose to take high road and he knows it. I've verified and shown all my proof to several different master General Motors Master technicians and they all came back with resounding response that Frank was at fault. So now it will be in the courts hands and I will update this once it's over. For anyone that would like to know more you can contact me. I've got all you would need to run as fast as you can from this mechanic. I've even documented some new mechanics that showed me what things he did that they couldn't believe from when he did the engine replacement. His shop spliced so many wires and I took video the moment the mechanics found these issues and they talk on camera about it. I've asked Frank over the last several weeks and really last 6 months to send me an itemized list of repairs like a receipt. His reply was he texted me the cost every time he had to charge me for something. Last thing, he never once showed up on time for any of the jobs that he did. I have proof of his reasons for being late and apologies for every one of them. What kind of professional does that. All the more reason to believe these reviews are fake

The next day they called to tell me there were no brake lines available for my Jeep anywhere with MOPAR, or any other manufacturer. People in my situation are all waiting months for these things on back order. Most shops would have probably told me to come tow this Jeep out of their way until a brake line was available. Not Juke! They thought outside the box and let me know a hydraulic shop they work with could build the part for me, and it would only be $80 more! Perfect! Even though they had to run around town with these brake lines, and rely on another shop to hunt down parts and fabricate custom brake lines for me, they had my Jeep back to me after just 6 business days! The other great thing is Miguel kept me updated the whole time and I never had to worry about if my vehicle was being taken care of. The people at Juke actually care about their customers and I recommend them to everyone I know.

This shop is great! NO other place would use my catalytic converter that I bought online even though it was direct fit. Muffin said bring it in and they would take a look at it and get it installed. Turns out the Magnaflow cat I got for my '03 Civic Si was not exactly direct fit and was like 2cm too short. Tom took me under the car and showed me and asked me if i wanted to cut the cat or the catback exhast pipe to weld in an extension for proper fitment. It was nice that he took the time to show me and even gave me options to choose what to modify. Also the hook part of the cat (that attaches to the frame for support), had for some reason designed by Magnaflow to hang down well below the frame of the car. Well that's not great if you happen to drive over something on the road, it'll definitely catch onto that hook and mess up the exhaust system. Tom cut that piece and welded it back so it served its purpose and did not hang below the frame. Now I was expecting these modifications and welding costs to be a bit much, but how much extra was this over the quoted price for the install? $20. that's it. These are great, honest guys that run a solid shop here in Austin. They specialize in one thing and do it right. My car is running solid again and I m glad I took my car to Muffin to have the work done. read more

Went to go have my resonator deleted to make it a bit louder. I worked with Tom and had nothing but the utmost service and care. While getting everything done, I talked to him and learned quite a few things about catalytic converters/mufflers/etc. They knew their stuff and knew exactly what every combination of mufflers/resonator would sound like. Rather than trying to mislead me in a different direction and sell me another resonator, Tom got straight to the point and was willing to do what I asked. I would recommend this shop, to anyone. I had zero complaints what so ever. Having an interest in cars, this is a great shop to learn a thing or two about cars from. Prices weren't unreasonable (half the cost as a quote from Midas. It took longer to get my quote from Midas, than it did to get the whole job done at Muffin) and for anyone looking for a custom exhaust they had a plethora of parts in the shop, you wont have to wait for the shop to source parts. I was more than happy with the quality of the job, the work done, and the people there. Tom was MORE than hospitable. Thanks for the great work guys! I recently needed a replacement catalyst converter on my 2003 Isuzu rodeo. I know my baby girl is getting up there in age so I am willing to spend whatever I have to in order to keep her running. Well, I took it to a well-known auto repair chain who will remain nameless and got a quote of $1500.00. After changing my shorts and regaining my composure, I told them that I would like to do some comparative shopping before I committed. To start my journey, I typed into the web search engine "catalyst converter repair austin" and wouldn't you know....Muffin Mufflers comes up. I look at the reviews and no one had anything but raving comments. So I figured what the hell, let's take a chance. Can't hurt. To make an already long story short, it was the best decision I could have made. The employees and Troy were extremely friendly, helpful, and after talking with Troy, I got the feeling that I could really trust the shop. the final bill.....$530.00!!! 1/3 the price of the big chain auto repair had quoted me along with quality work to boot. Well........get a cheap price, get a crappy job. Went to a no-name and had a new exhaust put on my '89 GMC truck for $340. Welds crap, 5 leaks - kept on bringing it back (well, 3 times) and still not fixed. Also, have coil over shocks - $200 - and the exhaust was hitting on the coil of one shock, didn't know it until it wore a hole in the exhaust and the hot exhaust destroyed the shock - got it hot and blew the seal. Oh yeah, and a crappy weld broke holding the exhaust at the tailpipe and it drooped. Whole job - CRAP. Now I'm screwed because the guy who did the job either took off or died - literally. So I show up to Muffin. Spoke with Tom, very knowledgeable. He went from the cat back - put on a shorty turbo muffler, no leaks - excellent welds, plenty of room for my new shocks - just an excellent job all the way around. I *highly* recommend them. I went to another muffler shop to get an exhaust leak fixed (it was the flex pipe). I ended up with a quote to change both catalytic converters and the flex pipe. I was quoted 2600 for the job. I came down to Muffin Muffler and spoke to Tom for a second opinion. I had actually came to him for a quote to replace both catalytic converters and the flex pipe based on what I had been told at the earlier shop. Tom, being the honest person he is, mentioned that I did not need to change my cats and that he could cut out the leaky flex pipe, replace it with a new one in 1hr for 240. I could not believe it! True to his word, he got it done in less than an hr, showed me the new flex pipe and the old one as well to compare. The car sounded wonderful and you could fill the improved power when pressing on the gas. I felt so good I tipped him! First time in my life I tipped a mechanic. Thanks Tom! Muffin Shop Rules! Hot Rodders look no further, you have found your shop! I used to restore 50's cars. Troy and Tom have done fantastic things for me over the last 30+ years. The short list of just my personal cars they have done beautiful custom work on: 1958 Chev Apache, 1959 Bel Air, 1950 Plymouth Business coupe, 1956 Continental Mark II, 1957 Bel Air Station Wagon, 1966 Mustang. The wagon exhaust is 20+ years old and still sounds great. We had the Mark II exhaust for over 20 years before we sold it. It was a very complicated exhaust: Upswept exhaust, then down and along the running boards, then up and out the bumper. A work of art that still does not rattle like most of these cars did. These are absolutely the best! They literally just finished helping my mom out with her vehicle. They are some of the coolest, honest, easy going and most understanding people we've ever worked with. I would 10/10 recommend them to anyone who needs muffler repairs of any kind. Nothing is too, or too small for these guy! Tom and his team at Muffin Muffler are first class! I dropped off my new BMW for a bit of custom exhaust work. I explained what I was looking for and Tom and his team really listened to me before figuring out how to do it. Once they came up with a plan, Tom called me to talk it through, explaining all the challenges and what he was planning. Well he nailed it! I'm super OCD (being an engineer) when it comes to my car, and I'm usually disappointed by the quality of workmanship with these kinds of jobs. Not so with the guys at Muffin, I'm very happy! They obviously have equally high standards. What I'm most impressed by is that they came up with a plan, presented it to me with the expected price and then delivered right on point. I cannot gush enough about these guys. My check engine light came on a while back and I had taken it to a Kwik Kar to get a sense what the problem was. They said it was the catalytic converter and it was going to be a $1500 fix. I wanted a second opinion on that and my friend suggested I check out Muffin Muffler. They scheduled an appointment the day after I contacted them, and within no time, Eric came in and said, "We may be able to get you out of here for free." Mind blown. He showed me that a sensor had come loose and was dangling. He connected that back up, cleared the errors, and said if I drove it 50 miles and the light didn't come back on that I should be golden. I was dreading going to a repair shop because I had heard horror stories about the long wait, expense, and getting conned. But this particular afternoon, The rattle from my exhaust as my car started was a little too discomforting. I called Muffin Muffler and they spoke to me about the process and offered to take a look at my car free of charge. I went in to the shop and was greeted right away. They proceeded to look at my car and took the time to show me the damage and explain what needed to be done. They also provided me with options for exhaust replacement. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I'm throwing in my recommendation as well. Last year my exhaust pipe under the car literally eroded and fell off while I was driving it. I had to pull aside and duct-tape the dang thing back in place so I wasn't dragging it on the road. I took it in to them and they got right away to work. Didn't even snicker at my little duct-tapped rig, just got down to business. They have a trailer on site with a fridge and couches to hang out at while they're at work, so if you don't have a ride you can wait comfortably at the site. Truely an Austin original! One of the few old Austin establishments a gear head can trust. Recently purchased 2011 Shelby GT500 (my dream car) and had them install Borla exhaust. Stopped by for a quote and after the install the quote was on the money. These guys are no BS old school craftsmen who take pride in their work. The shop was highly recommended by friends and my speed shop. If you want a latte, back slapping, upselling and a massage this is not your shop. Not only did Tom spend several hours on my 55 Thunderbird he exceeded every expectation and charged me what I felt was beyond reasonable. These guys are total PRO...if you have custom work to do look no more. They made my S10 V8 conversion truck sound RIGHT. Some fool had aimed one tail pipe right at the gas tank and these guys were able to turn it over the frame and out the sides and what a difference in tone....nice smooth welds extra hangers and even snugged the header flange up.....much less cab noise and sounds like a big block thumping away instead of an irritating slap against the pavement. Got a quote from a big name muffler shop, Muffin Muffler beat it by over 100$ without breaking a sweat! . I came in with a 3" catback that didn't fit quite right. All my hangers had to be re-positioned and the mid pipe was cut to add a resonator.I was very comfortable leaving my car with Muffin. About 1.5-2 hours later I get the "All done" call! Picked up my Forester... NO more rattles, No more squeaks, proper alignment and gap to the bumper! I will be telling anyone who needs exhaust work to swing by Muffin! I just left Muffin Muffler and I have to say that I rpobably had the best mechanical experience EVER! Eric got my van on the lift right away and found the problem. I headed to the airconditioned waiting area (completely separate from the shop) expecting to be there for awhile. I wasn't there 5 minutes when he came over and said I was ready to go! These guys are awesome. I have a 2012 VW GTI and had a local shop install a hitch on it. My muffler was banging against the hitch and drving me crazy. I talked to other exhaust shops in town and none of them would help. Muffin Muffler gladly helped and modified my stock muffler to clear the hitch. Best of all, they did it quickly and did an excellent job. It took about 1.5 hours and their price was cheap too. I couldn't be happier and will never take another car anywhere else for exhaust work. I heard about Muffin Muffler from both Yelp and recommendations on other message boards. My wife's 2006 Nissan Pathfinder was diagnosed at the dealer as needing both cat converters replaced. I then took the vehicle to Muffin, got an instant second opinion. Turns out, only one cat converter was bad, and Muffin could replace it for less than half of what the dealer wanted to charge me. I had an issue where my dual exhaust separated from the resonator due to some rust around the connection. After getting it up in the air and some discussion, we decided to re-weld the joints. One thing to keep in mind, this business has only one lift and very little in the way of a waiting room. I would highly recommend that you call to schedule an appointment since the facilities are limited. This might be considered a no-frills mom and pop operation, but the prices are very good and the work is great. I was in and out in half an hour for $70. Definitely a place I would recommend and return to.

I can no longer recommend Atypical Mechanic after how they have recently treated me…read more I originally used them in 2021 and left a 5* review for them, but the short story is they quoted me a flat $120 diagnostic fee, showed up and did the diagnostic and asked for $240. We were able to work that out, I thought, and I left a 5* review as they did do the diagnostic I paid for. Fast forward to February of 2022 and I had them back for a different problem, and they diagnosed the problem as needing a right front wheel bearing. Took the car to Juke and did the job and that didn't fix the problem at all. After some diagnosis at Juke, they said I would need the left front wheel bearing and new engine mounts to fix the problem. $2,000 in repairs later, the problem went away. I never left Atypical a bad review for their diagnosis even though it was only 1/3 of the problem. Lucky for me, Juke was nice enough to waive their diagnostic fee to find the real problem. Fast forward to 2023 and I emailed them for a few price quotes for other jobs. After some back and forth, they told me they are "not the best fit for [my] mechanic needs moving forward." I don't remember anything happening when they did the diagnosis in 2022 other than their tech leaving an expensive tool in my vehicle which I contacted them to return. I guess they finally decided they were mad from 2021 that they didn't get another $120 out of me? I don't know. I asked for clarification on what their issue is but they refused to explain if it was anything other than the first incident. I've paid my invoices and have no issues with Atypical Mechanic, so I'm not sure what their issue is with me. UPDATE 03/29/23: Jeremy makes two points in his response. First, that I knew the diagnostic fee was hourly. This is incorrect, and his original message says: "Our evaluation fee is $120. This is also our hourly fee so if your evaluation is under an hour the remainder of that fee would go towards the repair." The first sentence says the evaluation fee is flat rate $120, not hourly, and only talks about a discount applied to the hourly rate for repair. It's poor wording on his part, and when we spoke on the phone Jeremy seemed to understand where I was coming from. Apparently that was not the case, and two years later he still feels like he is in the right and I'm combative. Second, he says I cancelled multiple appointments within an hour which is just a blatant line. I looked over all of the emails, and here are the timelines for all of my appointments: 01/31/22 @ 3:02pm: appointment scheduled for 02/11/22 @ 1:30pm 02/10/22 @ 2:57pm: rescheduled appointment for 02/14/22 @ 11:30am (22 hours in advance) 02/14/22: appointment kept and paid $120 diagnosis 02/14/22 @ 3:49pm: appointment scheduled for 02/24/22 @ 1:30pm 02/23/22 @ 7:34am: appointment cancelled (29 hours in advance) With Atypical's appointments running 2 weeks in advance at that time, it was hard to know my schedule that far out. I rescheduled and cancelled when I found out I would not be available. 22 & 29 hours does not seem egregious to me, and I'm sure you filled those holes if you were booking 2 weeks out. But to say I cancelled MULTIPLE TIMES and WITHIN AN HOUR is an outright lie. You can say that you found me combative, but don't lie, Jeremy. Not a good look when I can pull up the times from my email to prove you're wrong.

I left my car about 2 days this was in March and then I picked it up, they told me they fixed the leak, that the smell of oil would linger until the car had burned the oil that spilled down, I drove my car, and consistently saw leaks and smelled oil, I thought it was my AC water in the floor, I worked from home so I don't drive my car a lot, come July and the oil change light came on, it has never come on before, even when I had not changed my oil.. I took it to Excalibur for the oil change, I made an appt for 8AM as reccomended by the front desk guy James - I get there at 8, I greet him, he looks at me, doesn't greet me, no answer, he looks miserable, he just barks at me "last name?" I give him my last name, they take my car, I sit and wait. Another lady comes in and he's all the sudden all smiley and nice.. when my car is done. He barks at me that my car is done.. I go to pay, he tells me my car is leaking oil.. and that I could have blown the motor.. I tell him that I thought they had fixed that 3 months ago.. he looks surprised back tracks and says oh it's probably not the same leak.. the leak probably went to another weak spot- but to bring the car in again and they look at it- I do... he calls me and tells me that it's a different leak- I ask him that why didn't they fix it back then - he says my car is old, he tells me it's "100% on you" that I didn't call them sooner - James was super rude and standing behind subpar lazy service- he wanted to charge me upwards of $400 to fix the leak - I said no, took it to my other mechanic- my other mechanic said that the leak was visible and that they had only changed the top part and not the actual main leak on the car - never going back there again, James if you don't want to be professional and patient, even my boyfriend that doesn't know you said you were super rude to him when he went to drop of my car - just save everyone the agony of your services. I knew I wasn't gonna get my money back and I wouldn't trust my car back in their hands.. never again..

They diagnosed the issue as a bad DPF sensor along with finding a couple other items that would eventually cause us some issues if not addressed. Unfortunately, we only had the truck and the thought of being stranded at the shop all day waiting for my truck to be fixed was not good. Luckily, they had a loaner car that they offered to us. That was a life saver as we were about 20 miles from the shop. Needless to say, they were able to get my truck fixed in a couple of hours and were able to send us on our way. I would highly recommend them if you need your truck worked on.
