Wow!! This is a hidden gem pretty near where I live. I picked this restaurant and I did a good job…read more Haha We walked in and the smell of delicious food overwhelmed me. Truly. It smelled so, so good. I had called and the guy said they were not busy. We walk in and the lady asked if we had a reservation. Wish he would have mentioned that but anyway, we were sat right away. Our server took quite a while to come over. When she did, she was very nice. We started with Kirin beers that were ice cold. He ordered some fancy eel roll. I had a piece but I am not a fan of eel. It did seem well put together. My JB roll was the best one I ever had. Truly delicious and fresh. We also ordered Mongolian beef. This was really delicious and not overly salted. I was surprised the portion wasn't bigger for a $25 price. Still, very tasty. The side dish of brown rice came about 10 minutes after the dish arrived. This was a bit annoying. We ordered the fried rice with chicken and shrimp later on. When it arrived, I thought it didn't look great. That all changed when I tasted it. The flavors here for the hot food items are very authentic. This dish doesn't seem to photograph well either but let me tell you, it is awesome! There are big tasty shrimps in there, maybe 6 of them. They don't even really show up here. The chicken is also fantastic. This is an excellent restaurant I want to go back to soon.

A lot of regulars around me based on conversations with servers which is a great sign. Ordered some pork buns, a few rolls and the Rock shrimp. It was all delicious and sushi is something I will always crave but do yourself a favor and start off with the Rock shrimp. Packet with flavor, creamy crispy slightly spicy shrimp was a star dish for me. We almost ordered another plate of it. All in all this place is worth every cent. I cannot wait to be back!

I usually approach fusion restaurants with a healthy amount of skepticism. Too often, they feel…read morelike culinary speed dating, two cuisines forced together in the hope that chemistry magically appears. More often than not, one side dominates, the other disappears, and everybody loses. At Amazonia, a Japanese-Peruvian restaurant in Miami, that fear evaporates somewhere around the first bite. The opening argument came in the form of Gyoza Huancaína, pan-fried dumplings stuffed with lomo saltado and served with a vivid yellow huancaína sauce. It is the kind of dish that sounds gimmicky when described aloud. Then you eat it. The dumplings delivered deep savory notes from the beef, while the creamy sauce added brightness, spice, and richness. It felt less like a fusion experiment and more like a dish that had always existed. Four dumplings arrived on the plate. Four was not enough. My entrée, the Midori Risotto, continued the conversation between Japan and Peru. A strikingly green risotto made with kale and edamame arrived topped with grilled shrimp, microgreens, and dots of black garlic aioli. The rice was cooked properly, retaining a slight bite, while the edamame added texture and sweetness. The shrimp brought balance to the richness, and the black garlic aioli quietly tied everything together. It was a dish that managed to be both comforting and elegant. To drink, I ordered the Nikkei Lemonade, a blend of yuzu, Peruvian ginger, and huacatay. Bright, citrusy, and refreshing, it reset the palate after each bite and served as a reminder that the fusion extends beyond the food. My wife chose the braised short rib, a dish for diners who may not be ready to take the full leap into the restaurant's more adventurous offerings. Braised for 72 hours and served over mashed potatoes, it collapsed under the gentlest pressure from a fork. The beef was intensely flavorful, and the braising liquid was rich enough to make you consider asking for a spoon. Dessert brought one final East-meets-West moment. The Flan Nikkei paired a silky custard with miso caramel, whipped cream, and fresh strawberry. The miso added just enough savory depth to keep the sweetness from becoming predictable. It was a thoughtful ending to a meal built on thoughtful combinations. Amazonia succeeds because it understands something many fusion restaurants do not. Combining cuisines is not about piling flavors on top of one another. It is about finding where they naturally intersect. Here, Japanese precision and Peruvian boldness meet in the middle, and both emerge better for it. Fusion rarely wins me over, but Amazonia makes a compelling case for keeping an open mind.

Our server Claudia was so nice and helpful with explaining the different dishes. You also are treated to a complimentary mocktail and sweet yam bite to start. Claudia even provided us a tablet to see the pictures of the various dishes offered which helped us decide what to try. We started off with a mocktail that had coconut, passion fruit, hibiscus tea and pineapple. That drink was delicious and I didn't miss the alcohol. For starters we had the salmon crispy rice and that was so filling and delicious. Then we had the scallops in the black truffle sauce which was perfect a seared to perfection. We also ordered the kumogani roll which is crab based and that was very tasty with or without soy sauce. We loved everything we tried and will definitely go back to try other items on the menu. I highly recommend trying them out if you're in the area.

They went over the food and drink menu and gave us time to think about it. We ended up ordering the chef experience with a couple of add ons, while pairing it with a bottle of Sake which was served in this interesting decanter/chiller which had us very entertained the whole time there. The chef experience comes out in different phases and each time it was served to us they were able to identified the type of fish being served. We thoroughly enjoyed what was served and we were impressed by the quality of the fish. The restaurant is not big, but it does have seating for one large group in the back. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, it isn't boring but also not overwhelming. There is plenty of free parking. Overall, we were impressed and definitely we will be coming back.

It was a party in my mouth. The strawberry sandwich is not too sweet, it's the perfect level of sweetness. The strawberries give it a nice tartness. Would definitely order it again. We liked the Osaka roll; the mango gives it a nice touch. The nigiri is good too. Nothing was fishy or chewy in a bad way. Gyoza were tasty. The curry katsu udon bowl was bland. We would not order it again. The egg sandwich was bland and we would not order it again. I wish they had funaguchi sake here. Cute ambience inside. They also deliver on uber eats but I haven't tried delivery yet.

The restaurant is intimate and the service is great. The rotating sushi boat bar opens at 5pm, perfect for date night, solo date or a decent size group if you get there before the rush. The menu is huge, something for everyone but the sushi bar allows you to try a little bit of everything for a fraction of the price. Each color plate represents a different price, ranging from $3-8. This has become one of our regular weekly spots, highly recommend stopping in to Blue Ginger for a bite.

I really enjoyed my to-go order from Blue Ginger…read more We ordered 1 JB Roll 1 JB Tempura Roll 2 Tuna Crispy Rice and 1 Bowl of Tofu & Vegetable Pad Thai. Service: The service was impeccable. The woman we spoke to on the phone to put in the order was so kind. She gave us her recommendations and she even added a side of spring rolls to our order for free! When we asked for extra sides of soy sauce, eel sauce, and spicy mayo she gave us four of each! Food: The food was delicious. I love trying every restaurant's version of Tuna crispy rice, and theirs was very unique. They had a whole circular bed of crispy rice, and big scoop of spicy tuna, avocado, and masago on top. It was the perfect amount of spicy and crispy. The sushi rolls were really good too. I accidentally got my JB roll as it comes vs. inside out, which I normally do because the seaweed tastes too fishy, and for once, this one didn't. Ambiance: I didn't go inside because it was a to-go order and I waited in the car, but I'm sure it's really nice inside and I can't wait to go again to sit down.
