My vehicle stayed in their shop for 4 days, and after the inspection they told me that my driver-side lower control arm was broken and that the thermostat needed replacement. They charged me $3,600, but never provided any proof, photos, or explanation showing that the arm was actually broken. They also refused to give me the parts invoice, never showed the cost of the parts they used, and provided no breakdown at all. They charged me $2,200 just for labor, yet this job normally takes around 3 hours, not multiple days. When I asked for labor rate, time, or details, they didn't provide anything. The whole process felt unprofessional, unclear, and extremely overpriced. The worst part is that after I picked up my car, it had even bigger problems than before. The vehicle started having new issues immediately, and now I have to take it to another certified Mercedes mechanic to fix whatever was done to it. I honestly have no idea what they did to my car, but the quality of work seems extremely poor. I am very disappointed and strongly warn anyone with a high-end vehicle: do not trust this shop with your car. They provided no transparency, no proof, no proper documentation, overcharged for labor, and returned my car in worse condition than it arrived.

Posting on here because my google review was somehow deleted. I was never going to review this…read moreplace because i went couple of times and believed they were honest people. I was yelled at over the phone by the owner because he thought I had an issue with bringing my car in and leaving it for the day. When really I was told that the piece they told me needed to be replaced, may not even be the piece that's causing issues with my breaks. I had asked the guy on the phone okay if that's not what's causing it then what other part could be causing that issue. That's when he told me he would have me talk to the mechanic because he's not sure. Right as the owner got on the phone he was right away yelling at me about how it could take all day because my car may need to be programmed and if I wanted it done quick I need to go to the dealership. And he had said this after I had already paid $140 for diagnostics to figure out I needed my RF wheel speed sensor replaced. I tried to tell him that the time wasn't an issue I could drop it off on a day that I'm off work. But he just kept interrupting me and yelling about how my car is very difficult to work with because it's a Volvo and it could take all day to program, and he will not do work on my vehicle anymore or any volvos. But again, I stayed quiet, I went and got the repair done at the dealership and I did not review this place. Until I saw that this auto repair shop stole my brand new winter tires. I went in for a tire change and when I came back to pick up I seen that they had wrapped my tires for me in a plastic wrap and put them in my trunk I didn't think to open the bags and check them at the time. When I finally got to opening the bags and checking them I found 2 sets of completely different brand tires which were already worn down. They stole my brand new tires and gave me garbage tires that I couldn't even use I had to buy a complete new set for double the price and when I posted my review they did not reach out to me to resolve the issue they ignored my comments and deleted my review you can't find it on google anymore. I still have my receipt from when I had them swapped to my all season back in March 2021. There's no way I could have put those old cracking tires on my vehicle. I hate that I have to resort to leaving a review on here but I am trying to warn anyone going here to make sure you check the work they do every time because they're thieves. Not to mention all the issues I found with my vehicle after taking It to the dealership. That's a whole other story on its own. DO NOT TRUST THEM, they will steal from you and waste your time only to tell you in the end to go to the dealership. Or do a half assed job that could cost you more in the future when you take it to the dealership for an inspection. For example changing my bulb and not putting the headlight cover back on which could have caused electrical issues because it was pouring the day after, hammering my tire in place, bending the metal to secure it, instead of notifying me that my tire is loose and replacing the wheel hub I was driving with a loose tire and could have been in a serious accident because it wasn't secured properly.

Avoid this place at all costs. It's my own fault for trusting them and not looking. I had my winter…read moretires swapped out for my summer tires in March, this morning when I pulled my tires to be swapped again, my one season used winter tires, that I bought 4 of, 2 of them are magically 5 years old and a different brand. This is a family owned business, and I feel bad for the children of these crooks. They will swindle you by yelling at you on the phone, keeping your car for longer than originally quoted and making you pay for more labor. Minh is a rude short tempered misogynistic thief. Paying twice the price anywhere else first is worth it, as you'll have to pay and pay and pay for everyone else to fix the mess they have made of your vehicle.

Supposedly a fender that needed to be secured. Yesterday the check engine light came on and I took it today to have it scanned which takes 2 seconds to do and they charged me 90.00 after spending 340.00 last week with them! It's not like I just walked off the street for this scan. I was a repeat customer with them. They charged 8.00 for shop supplies??? It was a simple scan to tell me it was an O2 sensor that would not affect driving it. They knew it wasnt anything because they had just performed an out of province vehicle on it but instead of being honest and above board they ripped me off for 90.00. Hiw these two brothers sleep at night is beyond me. Zero stars from me. And, they just lost customer and word of mouth speaks volumes. STAY AWAY FROM THESE THIEVES.

When I went into Kal Tires to purchase new tires (the same season) they told me the alignment was off and the direction of the treads were completely wrong which Downtown Auto completed. Waste of money. This same auto repair shop told me they could not open the glove compartment but that they would have to break the lock and replace it with a new one that would cost me about $200. I refused the service. A day after my mom opened it herself with a screw driver! When even trained car technicians could not open the glove compartment, my mom did without breaking the lock. Was it they wanted to me to pay for more for nothing? Why would I even I go back when now I'm suspicious of possibly getting scammed (if not already)? The bottom line is they simply cared so little about my car and the service they provided me at the time, how can I ever think of going back? The service was awful to say the least and I did not feel they cared enough for my business or any returned business I would have given them in the long term. The only person that was kind was the receptionist during my first and last experience with Downtown Auto Edmonton repair shop. When servicing is done with care, that would be the auto repair shop you should take your business too. And in my experience, this ISN'T THE ONE. Consumer Beware!
