I first met Dale and his dad Ken in 2006 when I blew a timing chain on a old Nissan. Dale personally came and towed my car off a busy street near NAIT at rush hour. I have never taken my cars anywhere else since that day. Dawson Motors has been on 97th street since the 1930s! Their foyer is like a museum with Old parts, tools, oil cans and pictures of the grandfather that started the business, the son Ken who continued it through the 60s to 2000s and now Dale the grandson who runs the shop.
One of the really nice features is that there is a machine shop on the premisis so any work that needs to get done is done in house. This speaks to me about convenience, accountability and skills. Also the auto parts business next door is owned by a family member so parts are readily available further speeding up the process.
I have taken domestics, hondas, mazdas, and nissans to the Dawson family for a dozen years. They also did the initial inspection and ongoing maintenance on my 30' motorhome.
Prices are fair, they always show you the parts they replaced, more than once I have brought something in thinking it needed a big fix only to have them tell me I can get more miles out of it and the repair is not required yet, and now and again invite you into the shop to show you the work they have done or something you need to keep an eye on.
