Where other contractors canceled appointments, arrived late, or were just no-shows - Mikel (out of their Hudson office) arrived on time and did a thorough assessment of the roof including taking drone footage. He sat with me and walked me through the whole process clearly, explaining all my choices in materials and didn't push any product or add-on. I did receive marginally cheaper quotes, but they did not leave me feeling like my home was in good hands in the same way that Mikel did, and I felt the extra money was likely to be worth it. Once I decided to go ahead with them, again, everything was done very professionally. I was kept informed of times and everybody showed up exactly when they said they would. I made a small change to the scope of the work in replacing additional plywood sections of the roof, and these were easily accommodated on short notice. On the day of the work, the crew showed up on time and Jurgan (the site foreman) kept everything moving with minimal disruption to us. I was working from home, and my wife and kids were in and out of the house for school and errands. Despite replacing the entire roof of the main building and two additions over approximately 9 hours, there was minimal disruption to our days. The house was protected during the work, and even with snow still on the ground, their cleanup crew constantly walked the property picking up and disposing of any debris, nails, old material etc. Ultimately the roof was replaced successfully and looks good. Every step of the job was explained to me, every question answered, and every decision explained. The team was professional, punctual and courteous throughout. A couple of weeks in and we've had snow, rain and strong winds. Everything is still perfect. I can highly recommend Mikel and Jurgan from Golden Group, Hudson.

They introduced themselves and then they got to work. Dawson, Brandon and Travis were knowledgeable about the 'how' these windows work. I say this because the place I live the windows are 20 years old. My front door in particular has the storms on them that slide up and down. Dawson and Travis worked together tediously getting the storms in and out. They have done these types of storms before, but these being an older style they have not had experience with. The important trait here is they didn't give up. . My sills were extremely dirty. In some areas the pollen and dirt were caked on. They were very particular in making sure they cleaned it all out. My screens were taken off and hosed down. They were finished all windows and doors in less than 3 hours. I paid them and they each shook my hand saying it was a pleasure to meet me. Being older it is so nice to have individuals work in my home who are genuinely enthusiastic about their job and very polite. The roofing material they use is CertainTeed ( best product on the market). The new skylights started leaking after the first snowstorm. We needed buckets, and a plastic sled under multiple leaks in our kitchen and porch. We tried contacting them 3 times and got no response. The material and work is less than 2 years old and ALL of it needs to be replaced. Improving communication with customers would benefit everyone, especially since this happened to a senior citizen who is a veteran. This company is not part of the Better Business Bureau.

He then helped me by emailing directly with the insurance company to point out where their estimates for what it would cost to replace my roof were too low, and they eventually came up by several thousand to match his estimate. He also replaced my skylights and advised me on how to get tax credits for the new, energy efficient ones. His team was polite, worked really hard, and got it done before the cold winter weather set in, working through the weekend when it snowed during the week. They also cleaned up very well afterwards and warned me to check my driveway for nails after the dumpster was hauled away (there were over 20 that had fallen through the container so that was a key piece of advice). He and his foreman were both easy to contact by text and phone throughout the process. Overall, I am an extremely happy customer, both because I have a new roof that looks great, and also because my homeowners insurance picked up most of the cost, thanks to Shawn's willingness to wrangle with them.
