I met Matt when I had a leaky roof. I put out a panic "call" on facebook and before I knew it Matt came, found the issue and immediately fixed it, then told me to have a nice day. Who does that any more? Most recently, I wanted an extra set of stairs added to an existing deck so of course I contacted Matt. As soon as the weather broke, Rene & Manuel arrived to complete the task. A bit of an issue, because of the original build, but instead of me flipping out, we worked around it. They are gorgeous!! had problems from the start they fired the first guy materials came. they couldn't get the waste container in. I'm gonna leave it on my neighbor's we did not have permission instead they backed into my and hit their an outside contractor. The team that they appeared nice. They cut my trees away from the house. They cut my outside water pipe and try to Mickey Mouse it I had to get them to hire a plumber to fix it. I had a leak in the front of the house where they put extra window to have them come and seal it now a year later I go to use my generator they cut the generator wires now I'm paying Electrician to fix it and the water came pouring down when they were working on the house and flooded my basement now I'm finding it got into my electrical panel and I have to replace my electrical panel . they filled the nail holes so when you look up, you see little white putty holes all over the place instead of using the color of the house . I put Harvey Siding. The house does look better but with a lot of problems later they subcontract out so you never know who you're gonna get and the guy that sold it to me lied. Capitol siding is top notch. They did a number of small jobs as well as our roof and porch this year. Our 1910 house has some quirk's so none of the jobs were straightforward and easy. I wish I had a more glowing review to give, but I unfortunately do not. I had contracted with Capitol Siding to have my roof and gutters replaced in the early fall of 2018. I am satisfied with the roofing job so far. My only complaint with regard to the roofing installation is that the clean up was less than stellar. The installers smoked and littered my yard and driveway with cigarette butts. Of course, there are also nails everywhere, but I can understand it would be difficult and unrealistic to expect to find them all. My real issue is with how the gutter installation situation was handled. During the quote process, I made a point when inquiring about the gutter replacement, that I have a covered deck that may or may not make the gutter replacement tricky. I even sent a photo prior to the onsite quote. I was assured that the gutter installation team were seasoned professionals that have done it all, and would have no problem with the installation. The roofers removed my gutters on the front of the house, except for the downspout. They did not remove the gutters from the back of the house. A couple of days later, I got a call informing me that the team would not be doing the installation of my gutters, as the job was not considered safe due to my covered deck. They did offer to do only the front, but at that point, I was not interested in dealing with the company any further. I am disappointed that the job was accepted in the first place. I would have preferred to be notified that during the quote process that they felt the job was unsafe. Instead, I was told it would be no problem. I was left with my front gutter removed, and the downspout dangling off the front of my house, and scrambling to find a new installer. Overall, I cannot recommend this company. read more

Great quality and customer service! Very nice to work with... Super friendly...efficient... I needed some work done immediately to resolve a home inspection concern and Al at Capitol Siding scheduled the work very quickly and the work was completed satisfactorily and at a very reasonable cost and I had my service report in hand within a couple of hours. When I called Al back to request further documentation he took care of it right away. He even followed up with me to see if my issues were resolved and if the P&S was signed. Still finding nails & debris in the yard & on overhang from job in the Fall, '15. VERY POOR follow up calls, & not showing up for job on dates & times agreed on. Incorrect color roof materials! Had to settle for the sake of getting the job done before cold weather. Sales contractor Insisted it was the correct color he ordered. That might have been true for him but it was not the color I ask for!!! Was told it would "it would fade out in a few years" UP CHARGED on job, & downspouts not replaced as originally promised. Felt very UNDERVALUED AND DEMEANED as a customer since it was a "small" home roof, & not a big commercial job. Will not meet with me in person on my property to discuss post job concerns pointed out by insurance inspector. Sales rep. Full Of EXCUSES "reasons" from beginning to end of job. Will not recommend neighboring residents, BEWARE IF YOU ARE NOT A HIGH END Property owner. You will likely get "kicked to the curb" as a "fill in or side job! These people are scammers, buyer beware. My parents have been using this company since the 70's for all the renovation needs. They had Capital siding do work on all three properties that they lived in. My parents recommended them to me since I recently purchased my first house and it needed siding and windows. The salesman my parents used had passed so I was referred to Dale, the original owners son.. I met with him and felt very comfortable that he was going to give me a good deal. He even said he will give me the "family discount" since my parents also used capital siding. So he gave me a price and I was planning on going with them but I got a comparison price from another company just to be sure the price they was giving me was good. The other company gave me a quote on the same brand windows and siding that capital siding gave me a quote on. The windows for capitol siding was a bit higher (not by much) but the siding was $4,000 higher on capital sidings quote, I met back with the sales manager at capital siding and mentioned I got a better price from another company and Dale said he was very surprised that another company could use the same product and do it for $4000 cheaper. He said he will review his notes and see what he can do. The next day he called me back and said he had made a calculation error, and now all of the sudden he could do it for the same price as the competitor. So I went with them and had the siding and windows installed by capital siding. They did a very nice job, and I was very pleased. So why the one star review- because about three years after the job was completed someone had pulled into my driveway and hit the side of the house with the car and small area of the siding had cracks. So I called capital siding and they had a service man replace the broken panels. But I was not happy because the color did not seem to match the original siding, the new piece was a bit darker. I was told that is because the original color had faded from the sun. It looked better then having the cracked siding but it was still a very noticeable difference in color. So I decided to remove a piece of siding from the back of the house (in a less noticeable area) and I removed the new piece that they had just replaced and I switched that to the back of the house. It looked much better. But when I was installing the new piece on the back the siding felt slightly thicker. So I used a micrometer to measure the thickness and I found indeed the thickness of the new panel was greater. I thought the repair guy had installed the wrong siding but then I was thinking about how when I met with the sales manager all the sudden he dropped the price by $4000 before I signed the contract, so I located the contract and compared the original sifding they installed they actually installed a lower grade of siding on the house! It was the same brand but a thinner panel. So it was not that he made a price calculation error, he wanted to get the sale so he lowered the price and used a cheaper material and told me the problem was his miscalculation. If the statue of limitations had not expired, I would be taking them to court. This should be a class act law suit. I am SURE that they do this with other customers and they don't even know it.
