I've seen what a standard epoxy flake floor looks like using Home Depot products, and I knew that to be low quality that can fail in 10 years. It's thin and essentially just a thin coat of paint with a thin coat of epoxy. I was willing to pay for commercial grade quality, and that's why I went with Silicon Valley Resin. Now I have a thick, durable, and cool looking garage floor that will last longer than me! If you want a REAL epoxy floor in your garage, I highly recommend this company.

For a variety of reasons we never found the right time until the first ten days of January 2021. Ron and his guys showed up on time each day ready to work. They were tidy and worked hard with very few breaks. The price I paid was a bargain simply based on the other two estimates I got for the work. There were hundreds of screws that needed to come out. There were a lot of screws that needed to be put back. Mudding and taping and hoisting of shaped sheetrock were the order of the day. I'm so impressed at how Ron kept his word and stood by his work and his workers. This business should be the gold standard for how business is to be done. We hired Cal Painting and Plaster to repair the plaster on the interior of our 1940's house and…read morethen paint. The plaster came out beautifully. Better than we could have ever hoped. The paint has been an utter disaster. It has been peeling off in strips all over the house since the job was finished in 2024. Even the repair that was done a year later has not held, and today installing shelves caused the paint on the repaired wall to peel off in a huge strip. The paint detaches from the wall if you bump it, it you put a sticky note on it to show where an outlet needs to be installed, and if you use painter's tape. The repair, where they stripped All the paint off the wall, applied a new primer and repainted is just as bad as before the repair. I don't know why this is happening. Neither Jake, Billy or any of the painters could explain. We heard something about using the wrong primer (on the whole interior), but even the "new" primer didn't hold the paint. Perhaps this is a fault with the paint itself, but since we only picked the color and they ordered and selected the paint, the quality was in their hands. We are teachers. We spent $40K on this job and it took us a LONG time to save that much. We can't afford to have this repaired by another company and we don't trust Cal Painting to do it either.

After doing a great job on the exterior of our home in Santa Clara last year, Cal Painting &…read morePlastering earned another five-star review for painting the entire interior earlier this year. Jake, the project manager, ensured that every aspect of the job was successful. From the first walk-through of our home to the very last details, Jake asked good questions, made excellent suggestions, and always communicated clearly and professionally. The estimate we approved was clear and complete, and there were never any "surprises" in scope or cost. Having lived in our home for more than 30 years, we have enough "stuff" to make emptying the house for painting impractical. Fortunately, Cal Painting & Plastering was willing to work with us to paint the interior of our three-bedroom, two-bath house in several phases. Cal Painting & Plastering employs skilled craftsmen with extensive experience. We were again impressed by the ways in which those craftsmen paid attention to details, including outstanding wallboard repairs and texture matching. Roberto, Jenaro and Christian were always efficient, and they always took excellent care to protect the furniture that had to remain in some of the rooms. It was inevitable that some unforeseen issues would arise during our interior painting, as they had during the exterior paint and stucco work. Once again, Jake was always responsive to the situation, communicating well with us and with the craftsmen working on our home. Inside and out, our home is more beautiful than it's ever been, thanks to Cal Painting & Plastering!
