I just had the greatest interaction with this business. I live on the west coast and I wanted to send flowers to my family in Cincinnati due to a death in the family. With COVID as an issue, being there in person really isn't an option for me. It's also important to me that I research/ support a local business instead of using a national, online, store. Not knowing what flowers are currently in season, I dictated an idea of what I wanted to see in a bouquet, over the phone, and even though what I wanted wasn't really in season, I was assured they'd take special care of the arrangement, as its for a special occasion. I'm absolutely blown away by the outcome. I couldn't have imagined a more beautiful arrangement. It exceeded my expectation as to what I even thought I wanted. Surprised I didn't do a review on them. Been going to them over 20 years ago when they first gave free dozen roses from the Anderson coupon book. They didn't realize their liability and after awhile claimed they had no roses :) They have been at this location for several years; moving from Beechmont. Weird name given that they are in Anderson and not near Mt Washington. We recently order a Christmas centerpiece. It was very well done. We have ordered other arrangements through the years and they were always well done. My kids had ordered corsages and boutonnieres from their over the years and they were always well done. Had to order flowers from out-of-state. Always a tricky thing considering the only interaction you will have with the florist is a phone call and the hopes that the flowers turn out alright. But after speaking with Teresa at Mt. Washington Florist, I knew I had fallen into great hands. I needed two sympathy flower arrangements that had to be delivered asap. Teresa patiently sat on the phone with me as I asked a million questions about each flower basket while slowly communicating the separate addresses, card messages sentence by sentence, and other details. She also was a doll and waited while I put her on hold to double check other specifics which I thought was so extremely kind. She later explained that they had been in business for quite some time and that they were family owned, which for some unknown reason made me feel all warm and fuzzy about them. I had requested an email confirmation and invoice which was promptly delivered upon delivery. When it comes to customer service, this place is a gem. I was on the phone for about 20 minutes going over this order and not once did I feel rushed. They sent the flowers out on schedule and Teresa made the entire experience extremely pleasant. read more

While my Mom is in the hospital, and not permitted visitors during this pandemic, I had flowers sent to her at Good Sam. I sent a dozen, long stem, pastel carnations (my Mom's favorite). Mt. Washington Florist provided BEAUTIFUL, big carnations, arranged with baby's breath in a pretty vase. All the nurses compliment the arrangement! The cost and delivery charges were incredibly reasonable. They also knew all the policies and delivery specs for patients receiving flowers during this pandemic (very helpful). I ordered flowers for my son's girlfriend who was going through a rough time. I sent them to her home but the day of delivery she was staying at her grandmothers house. When they went to deliver the flowers and Megan wasn't there they called the cell phone I had listed for her and she told them where she was and they drove over to her grandmother's house to deliver the flowers. If I were writing this review before today, I'd have given them a 5-star rating. The flowers have always been beautiful and I have used them many times. This week, I ordered a large Easter arrangement for my 81-year old mother. It arrived on Thursday as planned. Friday morning when Mom went to add water, one of the three large lilies in the arrangement was dead. On her way back from Dad's nursing home, she stopped in for a replacement. All she wanted was one lily to stick in herself, as the dead lily left a large gap. The store personnel told her they'd have to ask the boss, who wasn't there - so they called. Whoever the boss was said that she would have to bring this large arrangement back so they could "evaluate" it. I am not even sure she could get it in her car by herself. She said no, and said all she wanted was a lily. She gave them all the order info so they would know she wasn't scamming them (though who would scam for one lily, I have no idea.) Still they said no. They told her to try taking it out, trimming it, and putting it in water and maybe it would revive. She said no - it's Easter, my husband is in a nursing home and is having serious health problems - I don't have time to try to revive a lily. Just give me a lily and I'll go. They never would give them a lily, even after she told them I repeatedly buy from them. She DID tell them as she left that she would no longer accept arrangements from them, and would tell me never to use them again. She would also ask me to tell all my friends in Cincinnati, (which includes a lot of Fidelity people who order a lot of flowers!) I do not mind at all that one flower had problems - that happens. I mind a great deal how poorly they treated my 81-year-old mother and turned what should have been a lovely gift into a source of angst and frustration for her. Needless to say, I will not be using them again. In the end, their lack of willingness to replace one lily will cost them hundreds of dollars. ---------------- Follow Up the Next Day From Owner: Good morning, Caroline, I've made arrangements with your Mother for us to deliver a replacement arrangement to her at her convenience this afternoon. By picking up the arrangement, I'll have the opportunity to evaluate it to try to determine the cause of the problem. It is our shop's policy, when we receive an occasional complaint, to gather information regarding the order, and the manager will contact within one business day, after I've had the opportunity to look into the situation. My staff was working within the procedures that we've developed to handle this sort of situation. From Me: Dave - thank you for ultimately taking care of it, though originally a lily would have been fine. Customer service is not only the ultimate outcome, but how you make the customer feel and how easy it is to do business with you. This is why organizations renowned for service, such as The Ritz and Disney, give their frontline employees the ability to make something right on the spot within a certain dollar threshold (in the case of the Ritz, $200). As a service professional, I would respectfully suggest that you read the book The Effortless Experience, which talks about the key to client satisfaction and loyalty in the modern, overloaded, high-tech world. read more

My best friend's grandpa died and I wanted to send her sympathy flowers. It's hard to find a place online, but I stumbled across Mt. Washington florist and I am glad I did. Not only did they have great prices, but the flowers turned out even better than they looked online. It only took a couple of hours before they were actually delivered and she posted a picture on facebook thanking me for thinking of her. The delivery lady was very nice to my friend, even giving her dog a treat at the door! So many times you read negative reviews, but I wanted to take the time to let everyone know that Mt.
