Mike -- posted on Ladies of Hunterdon. You've been tagged. I hope it helps!…read more (I hope this post is permitted) Hey Ladies! I am a firm believer in supporting local businesses that do STELLAR work, and over the last few weeks I've had that "write home about" experience with THREE local businesses! FIRST -- When selling our home, (Today was closing - YEEESSSSS!) Richard and Kathy Schafer of RichKat Homes (Clinton) were they BEST tour guides that we could have asked for through the rollercoaster ride of selling our home. We had many challenges, including failed septic, and outdated interiors that needed a facelift. They walked us through the good and the bad, including my denial that we owned the PERFECT HOUSE that needed nothing. We closed today, and I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism and guidance through every step. They pushed and made adjustments long the way that ultimately resulted in a SALE with a family willing to make concessions (the right buyer). While selling our home and going through Inspections, it was determined that we needed modifications to our smoke detection system that would make or break our approval from the Fire Marshal in a QUICK turnaround. Doyle Electric was ON IT! They did not take the obvious high-priced solution at face-value, and challenged themselves to provide a COST-EFFECTIVE solution (way under what was proposed by other electricians). Their team came in quickly and resolved the issues to receive a PASS from the Fire Marshal one week from closing (five minutes after they left). I would highly recommend Doyle Electric to anyone! I feel very lucky to have stumbled upon them, and hope to help others find them quickly!

If you need an electrician, Mike is your guy. He and his team are very skilled, professional,…read morepersonable and cost effective. Mike and his team provided me with the ability to power my home easily using a generator for instances of power outages which are kinda frequent in my neighborhood. They installed a new panel with added breakers, an interlock device and a connection plug on the outside of my home. A brand new Westinghouse generator I bought "fried" some and Mike was there the next day to test out my generator (which, even though brand new likely had a "bad" voltage regulator). He went WAY above and beyond in helping me work through my situation and even came back the same day I bought a new generator to check it out before I connected it to the house. Mike Doyle Electric are MY electricians for life!

Alex came over and looked at the old AC unit and furnace. His professional guidance including a recommended solution was both honest and accurate. I accepted his solution and scheduled the install. The entire time I was kept in the loop by text and phone calls. The day of the job they showed up exactly on time 8am. The team was fronted by Amando and with him was Pete and Tyler. This was clearly not their first rodeo. Amazing, the three men quickly removed the old units both inside and out and installed the new units. They put down tarps and the area was left cleaner than when they got here! And it works. Great! I'd recommend Davis to anyone who needs to have HVAC work performed!

Also deducted stars for lack of responsiveness. We worked with them for roughly 5 years, and Kevin is overall a good guy, but once his client base expanded, it seems customer service has gone by the wayside. Roughly a year ago, he identified a simple/quick fix after the central air had failed not once, but twice. Contacted Kevin via text & email multiple times over several months, only to get a rude response on a Saturday morning, in his words: "It's 8AM on Saturday, right?" Clearly he doesnt care for my business, which is too bad since we had previously built a decent rapport. I had been putting off this review for some time because I fully understand the challenges posed during the pandemic as well as to this day. He last told me he was booked out for 6 weeks, which I then asked that we could be put on schedule 6-8 weeks out during a time where heating/cooling systems don't get used as regularly, but no response. All in all, they're probably great to work with if they value you're business or if you're lucky enough to get them to come and repair something for you, but if you haven't used them before, don't bother -- build a relationship with a different company who will value your business.

We are under an annual service contract where they come 2x's per year. Technicians and electricians are courteous and professional and don't pressure you to perform extra services. And one advantage to having a service contract is that in an emergency you get priority treatment. We have had one AC emergency in five years and received a repair within 24 hours. We also contracted with Pezz to install a whole house humidifier, a whole house surge suppressor, several lighting fixtures and exhaust fans and they replaced all of our interior switches and receptacles in our 30 year old house. The prices they charge are fair and competitive. We have been very happy with their services.

Where's the button for 10 stars? Heartland Home Inspections was the best money we've spent since…read moreour wedding. In a market where Buyers are waiving everything and Sellers aren't providing any concessions, Heartland Home Inspections' work shifted the balance. We purchased a home that had a pre-listing inspection done. For the uninitiated to the current market, this generally solidifies that you're going to have to buy the house as-is, with no wiggle room whatsoever. But the pre-listing inspection wasn't done by Heartland Home Inspections. Ed Novak was thorough, meticulous, and cut zero corners. He found issues that were missed by the previous inspector- giving us the opportunity to either wiggle out of our contract, or push forward. For a variety of reasons, we pushed forward- but Ed's work gave us over $12,000 in completed work and cash at closing. Need I repeat that, in this market, with a pre-listing inspection, that is beyond unheard of. As a homebuyer, the unknown can be daunting. But Ed (aka Columbo) provided us with as much information as possible, making us feel prepared and ready for what's coming next as we assume ownership of the property. Why wouldn't you want to know everything that needs to be taken care of in your new home? It's like having a mini to-do list that we can cross off as we go. Hiring Heartland Home Inspections was an investment that has already more than paid off and will continue to for the foreseeable future.
