As a young kid back in the 80's, I remember the parents taking me and my brothers up the mountain on the chair lifts to see some snow. As an adult, I've only been up here to participate in a trail race that took place on the Labor Day holiday. The race had us running up to the summit. It was more of a hike as it was a gain of about 4,000 feet over 7 miles! As to be expected, parking was pretty plentiful during the non-winter months. It's been a while since I've last gone skiing. Out of all of the Southern California ski resorts, this one is the closest to where I live. However, I had always gone to Snow Summit or Mammoth. The conditions just aren't very ideal here or Mountain High, but they'll do in a pinch.

It was awesome staff was friendly the food was delicious as well. Can't wait to go back. Thank you ...

No tubes No sleds. Nothing but taking your money. Don't go.

Nothing is ready. No tubes. No sleds. Save your money don't go. Deceptive advertising. Big promise but no delivery. Really shouldn't post website with kids sliding on sled when sleds, tubes, and runways aren't built nor available. Not to mention on thanksgiving week. Absolutely not business minded.

Mt Baldy Resort is a small, family owned resort that people can come to during these winter months to ski, snowboard, and tube. The drive up to the first lift is not bad, and the lift itself has an amazing view of Angeles National Forest. At the top of the lift I got to enjoy the beginner ski area (lift #2) on a day where we hadn't experienced a storm in maybe half a week. The snow makers did a good job and there was still some decent terrain to snowboard on. If this was Mt Baldy on a bad day, I'd love to see it on a good day.

Considering how close this mountain is to LA proper, it's a decent enough option for snowboarding if you don't want to drive much farther. The quality of the powder is extremely variable though given SoCal winter conditions but they do a great job processing rebookings when the weather isn't ideal.

A true hidden gem. Mount Baldy is a legendary mountain. Occasionally it feels like a myth with less than usual now year after year and the rising temperatures. But rest assured, this myth is real. Tips: For a legendary ski day, visit directions after it snows. They have a small staff, and it may take a while for the safety checks and dig out the lifts. However, it is worth the wait. While visiting this epic mountain, you will not see jumps or jibbs. Mount Baldy is a natural ride. When you park and jump on Chair lift 1, you will be transported to the past. The lifts are old and slow, but they make you enjoy the views and cherish each and every ride. To get the most out of this mountain, you will need to be able to navigate through trees and ride down some steep terrain. Mount Baldy is the closest Mountain to Los Angeles, CA, and is always forgotten about, which is somewhat good because fewer people are on the slopes. Some people may not like this mountain because there might not be enough snow due to climate change, and it is a south-facing slope, which melts quicker, but the snow is out of their control.

Mt. Baldy is a family-run resort and has an old-school feel. It's also the closest ski resort in LA. Takes only about an hour from home base and it's right off the 210 freeway. Yes, it's smaller than the more popular resorts in the region, but the lines aren't as long. The parking lot is smallish, so it's best to get here at least 30 mins before opening time on weekends. You buy your tickets online and you redeem it at the resort where they give you a printed ticket and lanyard. Parking is also $10. Was free only 2 years ago, but these days nothing is free anymore. Once you get your ticket, you take a two-person lift all the way up to the top where the runs and the main lodge are. The ride is very scenic, and it takes about 15 minutes or so. People go up and down just for the ride, although I believe you have to pay to do that. Up top, there's also a tube park for the kiddos. Pretty fun looking. There's also a small area for instruction. They also have rentals here, but I suggest you come early or rent somewhere else as they don't have a lot of gear. Also, they have a small staff so things will take a little longer. But they're all very friendly! Now for the runs. Like I said, there aren't many and they aren't very long, but it's great for intermediate to advanced riders/skiers. They don't exactly have bunny slopes here, but there are a couple of spots that aren't too intimidating. There's also a long intermediate run that takes you on a couple of cool switchbacks and ends up all the way back at the lodge. Really fun, chill ride. Pricing is reasonable. It changes depending on the day of the week, so check the website. On a Monday, I was able to get in 12 runs! Very good bang for the buck.

    Bar menu

Probably the best value in the region to ski. Unfortunately, only 3 lifts were open and 2 runs due to lack of snow. Easy to scratch the ski.

So we went to yeti snow play for the first time February 21 of 2026. It was a perfect weekend…read morebecause there was a lot of fresh snow and it was cold but also sunny. So we were so excited to go tubing and play in the snow. We bought our tickets online to reserve a spot. My biggest complaint and issue and that's why there's not five stars, is it took us 2 1/2 hours to go 2 miles from our Airbnb. And when we got to the destination, the parking lot was completely full and we were very, very disheartened that we would have to turn around and take another two hours to get back and then have to come back the next day and hopefully be able to get a spot. I was very disappointed because the infrastructure doesn't seem to be very organized to deal with a big amount of crowds, especially knowing that fresh snow attracts a lot of people at one time. However, I was able to get out of the car and talk to three employees. The first two employees just told me that I can just use my ticket for the next day. But I didn't want to give up so I talked to the third employee, unfortunately I forgot her name, but she told us that since we already had tickets and it wasn't for snowboarding or for skiing that she would make a spot for us for parking. And that just made my day! I was very, very thankful for that because it was going to be very difficult to tell my six-year-old that we weren't gonna go tubing that day. So luckily we were able to get in and park and have some fun! So after finally getting in, I have to say that every staff member that we interacted with was super friendly, super helpful and just very professional. The tubing was super fun for my son. He loved it so much! And the cool thing is that the lines were super short because everyone was skiing and snowboarding. The tubing was super fun and my son went up and down 14 times! There is a little place that you can get food, but we brought our own food since we have allergies. And we were able to find a really nice little bench in the eating area and have our food and it was great. I can't really talk more about the food since we didn't order from there, but it looks like a lot of people are ordering. So for the cost, I think even though it's really high price for what we paid for I think it's worth it because it's a safe and controlled area versus trying to find a random hill to go sledding at. It was nice and definitely we'd love to come back. But when we come back, unfortunately you have to get to the parking lot at 7 AM and you don't start doing any of the tubing until 10 AM so that is unfortunate and that's something that I don't know how we'll plan for that but that's something I wish that they would try to fix her future. But overall, I would say it's a great place to go tubing ski skiing or snowboarding or just playing in the snow. But you need to plan a way ahead and know that it's gonna take you a very long time to get in . I highly recommend buying tickets online!

A small portion of the trail leading up to the Ski Hut is covered in ice/snow, so I would recommend using hiking poles if you have any. More than half of the trail is not shaded and it's filled with loose rocks & gravels. And so, make sure to bring a hat and/or sunglasses, a good pair of hiking shoes as well as enough water and/or snacks. Traffic getting into the resort was rough, and the transport buses from the east to west parking lots weren't operating. To top this all off after my husband left a review they called my husband asking him to change his review and exchange they will give him two hour free yacht ride, so we can go in the open ocean. We tried so many times contacting them, they told us let us know when is a good day. After us letting them know, he told us he will let us know when is a good day for him THIS month. I had told my parents we would take them on a yacht ride, so now I look dumb because it is the end of the month and the guy never got back to me on Instagram, over text we tried contacting them.
