Big Bear Snow Play was such a fun experience! We did night tubing, and the kiddos had a great time. It's definitely cold, so bundle up There are two sides to get to the top, and I highly recommend the far left side when you're facing uphill it was noticeably less crowded. The slopes are really good too; you definitely pick up some speed, which made it extra fun. Night hours are from 5-9 PM, so if you're planning to go in the evening, get there early to really get your money's worth. Overall, a great family experience and lots of fun! read more

My kids had fun and that was all that mattered. However, for a party of 4 at $50 a person, was on the pricy side ($200). That's not counting food and drinks. So plan accordingly. Parking was free, the line to purchase tickets was long because you have to sign a waiver first. There is no outside food or drinks allowed, but you can leave to go to your car. There were 6 tubing lanes open when we went. You pretty much grab a tube (two if you have a young child that needs help), go up an escalator like lift to the top, wait in a long line again, slide down, get rushed off so the next group can tube down, and walk back to the escalator lift to repeat the process. We went tubing down 4 times and the excitement was short lived and got boring for us adults fairly quick. Overall, if you're looking for something fun to do for the kids. This place was decent. My three kids (ages 3,4, and 6) and my husband and I spent a few hours here for the glow night event! We LOVED it. We showed up around 6:30 and stayed until closing. We brought our dog (she had to stay outside of the gate, no biggie there are tables) and our toddlers took turns going with an adult. My 6 year old was able to ride alone and loved it!!! Keypoints: - LONG LINE for tickets - $50/person - Horrible parking I came on a Friday morning the day after new years, to get a ticket it took 2 hours. Once you get the ticket it's another 30 minutes everytime you want to go down the hill on the tube. Parking is very tight and there is no worker coordinating the spots so it's very easy to get blocked in from poor parking from others (which happened to me). Areas of improvement needed: - The waivers kill a ton of time for everyone and cause the long line and kill the customer experience from the start. There were 4 employees in the room for the waivers, if those waivers could be completed online first and printed out and customers can bring them in, then you can utilize those employees for extra ticket booths, parking coordination, etc. - the lines at the top when you were waiting to tube down were horrendous, no staff coordination, tons of parents arguing over who cut which line. Overall if you know what you're getting yourself into, it's not horrible. I think there's a lot of ways they can make the whole experience better, but it will cost more money which is why they don't want to do it, but for $50/person there should be funds for improvements. Here's my honest review. The reality is that Big Bear is a small mountain town that attracts a lot of visitors during peak winter season which is usually during the holidays until the end of January. We cannot fault these attractions for being busy which isn't their fault. Overall, we had a good time. The kids had fun going down on the slopes. They allow you take pictures and videos which was a big plus to remember this fun activity. I mostly chose this location for tubing because it was so close our Airbnb. Maybe we got lucky but I felt the workers were all friendly and professional on the day we went. A lot of them are young high school and college students and doing their best. When asked questions, they answered and helped when they could. The parking lot is big and free but gets congested. You are allowed in and out privileges and can bypass the line. We visited some other tubing places and I thought this place had the best tubes which were large, well inflated, had handles, and a bottom cover so you can sit on it without getting your butt wet as you go down the hill. They had one covered escalator and one open escalator going up to slopes which helped a lot with the kids who got easily gassed out lugging their tubes. A few tips: - come early to avoid the long lines and maximize your time here. There was already a line forming at 930am and they open at 10am. The line quickly filled up by 10-1030am. You first sign the waiver then get in another line to pay for your tickets and lastly get in line to get your re-enter tag put on. - your whole party must be in the line to sign the waiver and get the tickets. - ideal activity for children 5 years old and older - they do not allow any bags or purses (even small ones) or outside food or drinks so keep those in the car. - bring sunglasses and sunscreen if it's a sunny day to prevent sunburn from the reflection on the snow. - pack your own lunch and snacks in your car to avoid the long food lines. You can go back to your car to eat and re-enter. - wear waterproof pants, snow shoes, and layers. - during peak hours (after 1130am until close), holidays, and weekends expect to wait in line for over an hour to get your tickets and then approximately 15-30 minutes each time you're in line to get down on your tube. Yes it's costly at $50 per person. If you want to get bang for your buck and avoid the crowds, I'd recommend avoiding anytime mid-December to end of January when everyone is on vacation. This place could be great but seems as if they did some stuff half ass. Here are some tips. Get here early. We got here within 15 minutes of opening and still waited 45 minutes in line. As we got onto the slopes the line was easily 2 hours. Rides were about 10 minutes a ride for the first hour and got to 20-30 per ride around 12pm. Line to get in was still an hour and half. The waiting area has no heaters and standing water of two inches and ice so beware. Food options are like eating at the little league snack bar, but you can bring your own stuff in. read more

There is some type of waiting room with a food booth offering pretty much nothing (pizza and dog?). What an absolute overpriced mess of a place!! $50 per person. Took my kids paid $235 for the fam. First problem was when I handed the staff the tickets they were putting them on us and managed to lose one. Took 3 people to look at my receipt and realize someone messed up for them to call the manager. The manager came down and went back to the ticket window and said "I need a child's ticket it was lose and IM FEELING NICE" as if it wasn't their incompetent staffs fault. One of the things that I was looking forward to was the people mover because I really didn't feel like climbing up the mountain every time to go down. That was a piece of junk. It kept freezing up and we'd have to walk the rest of the way. It was overcrowded as well. Once at the top of the hill there is a long line. Staff is up there but it's still chaotic. People throwing snow (one piece hit my 4yr old) and they almost seem upset to have to work. Once I was at the bottom of the hill, I was struggling to get out of the NRT with my daughter and walk down the slippery slope back to the beginning again one of the staff members made sure to be extra unpleasant and tell us to rush, knowing I had a little kid with me. The only thing I did kind of enjoy here is was the snack area. The woman who helped us was friendly. I will not be coming back here. Luckily the ticket booth lady was kind enough to understand and refund us no hesitation since we did not make use of our ticket. Terrible. We arrived at 2:30pm on a Sunday, waited in line to sign a waiver, then walked straight to the counter to pay. We didn't see the small print on the pricing sign, so we paid the $45 for 6 people and that's when we were told they close at 4pm. That was about 1 hour away and they charged us the full $45 per person. I wish I could say we got our money worth but the LONG lines to go up the hill coupled with the longer lines on top of the hill were insane and not worth the money. We only got to tube down the hill 3 times, for the $270 paid that's $90 a trip. Additionally, when you're waiting in line for 20 minutes at the top kids are board and want to walk/ play but they aren't allowed to as the employees with the mega phone instruct them to come down from the hill and there is no where else to go. Our kids were so board and did not enjoy the endless lines. This was a TOTAL waste of money that feels like a shyster operation. Recommend business put up a sign at the waiver line with prices / and times. If patrons arrive in that last hour window offer 1/2 pricing or discount on "night" rate, most people will wait the hour and that will bring more business to other attractions or the snack bar. My kids did have fun going down the slope twice. Yes you read that right, they only went twice. It's a scam. You pay $50 to enter and go up this escalator and it looks great, the line is moving. What you don't see is the Disneyland serpent line at the top behind the slope. You will wait over 30 minutes just to slide down the slope once you arrive at the top. It's outrageous! We had no choice but to be here because it's bone dry out here and there is NO snow any place else. There is also minimal glow. We couldn't see who was coming down the slope and being up there it's really dark too. If you can, avoid this place. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at this location, largely due to the rude and unprofessional behavior of the staff. We purchased three tickets, but my other two children couldn't participate because they were under the height requirement. While signing the waiver, the staff insisted on measuring one of my children who didn't have a ticket, despite us already explaining that she wouldn't be going in. A young staff member then called over two other employees to confirm she couldn't participate because she was under 36 inches. When her colleagues disagreed, she called her supervisor, who confirmed from a distance that my child couldn't participate. We had already made it clear that she wouldn't be going in, but they repeatedly checked her height anyway. Later, when we got to the tubing line, I was told I needed to purchase another ticket for my child because she was now supposedly considered 36 inches tall. After buying the ticket, the same staff member radioed the supervisor, who arrived yelling and making a scene, telling us we couldn't proceed. We asked the supervisor to re-check my child's height (because we just purchased another ticket) and he confirmed that she was indeed 36 inches. However, he still refused to let her participate, saying, "I'm the supervisor, and I still get to say no." When I asked if this treatment was because my family is African American, the supervisor responded, with a sarcastic laugh. This experience felt incredibly biased and discriminatory, with staff who seemed inexperienced and a supervisor who was unprofessional. It was an upsetting and frustrating ordeal, and I would not recommend this place because of the negative and disrespectful treatment we received. This place is also very expensive. In the ladies restroom, there was a stall with a trash can on top of the toilet, I think the facilities's way of saying "out of order" but when I flushed it, the toilet was perfectly fine. I felt it was a lazy way to not clean up the issue. On the outside deck where you can view the kids going down the slide, there was a big empty deck that has every potential to offer a concession stand. A lot of wasted space that the owner can capitalize on. Also, the staff were fairly young (early 20s) but they lacked the hospitality to draw in guests, especially my two young children. I expected more since we came during a slow season and there were no crowds. Hopefully the place can improve the customer's experience. However, for day visitors, it's $50 per adult and $35 per child, which is steep considering the limited hours. While I'd normally be willing to pay $50, it's hard to justify when the park is only open from 10 AM-4 PM and then again from 5 PM-9 PM. We arrived at 3 PM and were told we could still go up, but only for 30 minutes and that we had to be back down by 4 PM. If we wanted to return at 5 PM, we were told we would have to pay for the service again, which felt unreasonable given the full price charged. We've had such better experiences at every other tubing place in Big Bear; even during peak season. Night tubing was horrible. It took us over an hour to wait in line to sign the waiver and buy tickets. The lines at the top of the tube slopes were over 30 minutes long to go down. We got to go down 2 times in total before the kids got too cold and wanted to leave. The staff were extremely rude. I feel liked we paid over $200 to freeze while getting yelled at by staff. We should be able to buy tickets and sign the waiver online. Ya'll need to hirer kinder staff. There's a lot of families that go, and they speak very rudely to everyone. read more

Was VERY skeptical and hesitant to visit after reading so many horrible reviews but it was less than a mile from our Airbnb and I have adults children so how bad could it be? Arrived right before opening, stood in a short line to sign waiver, then a longer line to purchase tickets. Only 1 window was open but it went pretty quick. Then we were free to grab a tube (plenty to choose from) and hitch a ride on the magic carpet. All employees were very young but also very friendly. We had so much fun, we went up and down 4 times in 35minutes. It did start getting more crowded closer to 11am but still plenty of parking. We had a GREAT time so my advice to you is to check this place out for yourself! The way that one worker who I have to assume was a manager was speaking to people was insane. Upon asking if they were on Yelp, he told me they sure are and holding strong on 3 stars - which I find entirely unsurprising that they are in fact not. He then asked if I needed anything else as I told him no as we continued to lock eyes through his robo-cop sunglasses. Once it got too uncomfortable for him he thought it was a good idea to let me know that we all decided to come on the busiest weekend of the year (do not believe to be true) as if somehow that opens the door for him to be a total arse to the people supporting the business. I can get past the rude staff and the lift that breaks down half the time so you have to walk up dragging your tube, but it's just not worth the money. $50 a person works out to about $5 a run if things are moving quickly at the top of the hill...which they never are. After waiting in 1 line to sign waivers, then moving to a second line to pay, and then a 3rd line to enter the tubing area...we made it to the top to find massive disorganized lines. In my experience, the people working here are very rude. This place use to be one of the funnest places to bring my kids to. Not sure why they can't just have people sign a waiver at same time when buying tickets, they make you get in separate lines for both. Horrible system they have set up and just plain mean people. Management should really do some simple training on customer service. We went yesterday and had a great time. No lines to pay, sign waivers or tubing. I'm sure us going during the week played a key role in this but our experience was great. Staff was a bunch of young kids. They weren't rude or anything, but managed to be helpful and smile here and there. The pass thing we got was for about 4 hours. We were there for a little over an hour, left to go eat and came back and still managed to go in without a hassle. The larger woman working the counter allowed two of my siblings to purchase drinks for five dollars without charging them tax.
