This is a great local resort without all the mountain driving. Great service from the staff. Arrive early for free parking.

Everything we experienced, from the lift passes, rentals and lodge were great. Employees we encountered were very friendly and super helpful. The whole experience was great

Such a good ski resort! The lift tickets are still pricey but much cheaper compared to Big Bear/Snow Summit. There's a lot of open space, decent food and bev options, and seating for the usual crowd. I visited during President's Day Weekend and was surprised at the crowd turnout. I went to Big Bear in January and felt like a sardine squished in crowds all day. The online ordering was also very easy and lockers are super accessible. My only recommendation is to come before opening so you can get a spot at the West Resort and don't have to take the shuttle to the East Resort. Parking is $20 cash/card which isn't terrible.

Their customer service is horrible. Their employees are rude and unhelpful!! The snow conditions are terrible this season. They should not be open! Their prices went up season 25 even though the snow conditions were horrible. Overall, I give this place a 2.5 out of 10. Drive a little more, and you'll find yourself up in Big Bear with better snow conditions.

I have just been there today (1/22/23). And WOW!!! It was sooo busy. Parking was full, before and after the resort, the road were flooded with cars. Although I didn't see skiers and snowboarders, I saw kids sledding and more kids coming to join them. I saw some merchants selling their food along the road and they were all over. For me, that's not bad as long as they are allowed. As I am sure the food prices inside the resort are very high. I would definitely come back when it isn't busy. I took pictures and we just drove around a little bit.

We only went up the ski lift and did the tubing but I heard they have skiing as well snowboarding possibilities. The ski lift to the top was beautiful and relaxing. It's of course colder on the top but they offer warm drinks and food at the top. The view is impressive and it was such a perfect day. The tubing on the other hand I would say needs more organization so that it moved faster. The two lines, one to get the tube and one to go up the hill seemed repetitive and unnecessary. If you have a line to just move the tubes up the hill so that people just go up one hill and that's all makes the lines go faster and people would move faster. Enjoying the tubing experience is what you're paying for but we took one hour from start to finish and it made us not want to go again. So yes, that's my only complaint about the whole experience.

Initially getting to the rental location had a full lot so we had to park at the lower location and take the shuttle up which ate into the amount of time for skiing and snowboard. What would've helped a little for my noob experience of understanding which of the three lifts went to which elevation which my dumb soul went to medium difficulty without realizing it on rented skis with zero knowledge of how to ski so I had a bad time even with future cousin in law trying to teach me. End up getting rescued by a snow mobile staff! God bless you sir lol! Was about to continue walking down the slope from the middle of the mountain. Ended up switching to snowboarding because I'd had one previous experience snowboarding which thank goodness this place allows for one switch and that switch of gear made the difference in overall experience with enjoyment. I was able to relearn snowboarding on the carpet ramp up to the kiddie slope and then get a few good runs on the easy snowflake lift 3 before calling it a day. Note to newcomers: Right side carpet is best to start, then to the left of that slightly up the slope is lift 3 which is the easy slopes. So the difficulty as it stands is from the right to left is easiest to hardest which is also lowest elevation from the right to the left is the highest elevation.

It was my first time here and my first-time skiing too. Overall I had a good time, and I had fun. The place is not prepared much if you ski off the snow; there are no wall, some trees has blankets around, some doesn't. Even I saw a hole in the area that was just covered with red net like that can stop anyone... The instructor we had was helpful but got into an argument with my friend; while I understood her frustration, she acted childish, and there was no need for all that. Lastly, they tied my boots so tight that I got blisters on my hill! When I told the girl, it kind of hurt, and she told me it was normal and added that I could break my ankle if it were loose. Of course, I was scared to break my ankle so I bared the pain for 5 hours... Next time ill do my boots myself.

Ski Lesson with Tanya! You're the best!

Had the absolute best experience this past weekend at Mt High taking a ski lesson with our amazing instructor Tanya (go gators!) Tanya and all of the instructor staff were not only extremely welcoming but friendly and encouraging during our two hour lesson. We had only skied once before with no formal lesson so wanted to really learn the fundamentals and improve. Tanya was SO encouraging and patient with us every step of the way. She truly made our day and we had the best time! Thank you to the Mt. High staff for making our day one to remember!

All these years, I have put off coming to Mountain High to snowboard because of all the inferior reviews from friends and online forums. However, upon spending the day here, I actually enjoyed it more than the Big Bear Resort. The drive to this location was so much easier: no winding roads! We live in West LA and were able to get there in less than 2 hours (so you could easily make a day trip here and go back home on the same day!). There was plenty of parking and if the main resort's parking was full, there's a parking lot 1 mile away and you could take the shuttle to the resort! Additionally, I have read somewhere that the snow tends to be thin here and that it's very icy . Admittedly, when we were there, the snow wasn't thick, but it was definitely not icy! In terms of difficulty, I thought the beginner friendly tracks were enjoyable. The more advanced tracks were also clearly labeled as "not for beginners". As for the lift tickets and equipment rentals, I suggest you do that online and then make sure to keep your tickets for future visits ($10 discount per person if you keep the used tickets; they are rechargeable). Overall, I definitely recommend Mountain High Resort if you don't want to deal with long drives and don't mind the thin snow (you'll still be able to enjoy skiing or snowboarding here regardless!).

Is snow play, tupping, sleding still open untill? How to check road conditioner for chain required?

Yes, Snow Play is now available weekends through March. Please click here to learn more. https://www.mthigh.com/site/mountain/events-and-activities/yeti-snow-play

    Is there snowmobile rentals here?

I saw one but From my own understanding its only for staff users

Is the snow/playing an tubing open for this weekend?

Yes, the Yeti's Snow Play at Mountain High is open 7 days a week through Jan 7th then Thursday - Monday for the next several months. Hope to see you soon.

Is snow play/ tubing/ sledding still open for this season? I was hoping to come the weekend of April 21/22. Also, is it lift serviced?

Thanks for asking. No...unfortunately, snow play has ended for the season at Mountain High. The mountain is still open for skiing & snowboarding though and lessons are available until closing weekend. See you in the snow.

Is there free access to the snow? My kids just want to see/touch snow for a few hours, was wondering if I can just pay for parking and play in the snow without purchasing the Snow Play / Yeti tickets. Thanks

You can park on the side of the road and your kids can play on the snow. Bring some sled too.

What kind of shoe is required? Do they rent shoe here?

Not sure about "required". My snowboard boot size is 0.5 + my regular shoe size. But sure, they rent here. Usually long lines though (Sat 8am).

What's there to do if you're not playing in the snow? Anywhere comfortable to lounge, stay warm, and be entertained? Are the indoor areas are open? Thanks for the input

In Mt High West, there's Bullwheel Bar & Grill (indoors) and a beer bar (outdoors). You can socialize and relax while watching ppl have fun. As for Mt High East, there seemed to be souvenir shops (indoors).

For the Snow Play. If both adults are buying a full day pass, do we need to buy one our 5 year old as well or would he be free?

no the 5 year old would need a pass as well.

Mountain high still gives the birthday free lift ticket?

    Lol

Is the Yeti area what used to be North Resort or are they different?

No, the Yeti's Snow Play is a much bigger snow play operation at the base of our East Resort. We are no longer using the North Resort for tubing or snow play.

Does snow play include tubing and sledding?

There are areas for that as well

I have an electric vehicle not sure I can make it there and back. Do you have car charging?

No, I'm afraid we don't have electric charging stations yet but we plan to next season. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Is Mountain High open this Sunday, 3/15/2020? We ask b/c Mammoth is closed. Thanks!

Does anyone know of coupons for a Friday?

I don't know about Friday's, but we did get a good deal thought Groupon last year. Good luck 👍🏻

How much is it for only snow tubing? We don't snowboard or ski so do we pay for the rate for snowboarding?

You don't go tubing here. They don't offer it.

    Are dogs allowed?

There is a sign that says they must be on a leash when are on the property, but I would call the operator to be sure.

How much are the tickets for snow play ? Does it include sledding? Or tubing?

At the Yeti's Snow Play we offer a Snow Play ticket for $30 or an All Activities ticket for $79 which includes tubing, sledding, snow play and one scenic sky chair ride. Please see here for details… Read more

    Is there snow right now?

Tons. For tubing it was great and for snow play it was so deep it was hard to walk in. Speaking for NORTH RESORT

Are all of the Yeti's Snow Parks the same? Is tubing "lower intensity" at any of them?

Great question. We only have one Yeti's Snow Play area, now at our East Resort. We offer tubing, sledding, snow play and scenic sky chair rides. All are low intensity with tubing being the most exciting.

[img 1 of 4] Sat, Mar 7 -- When I finally make plans to go, the resort closed. Not just that, they (unintentionally) pulled a bait and switch a couple times. My complaint isn't the weather. My complaint is the repeated false hope from their announcement approach. Seeing how bad the weather had been, wish they had just announced early that they will not open the next day, well before the dilettantes had already gone out and rented ski gear the day before. Save me the trouble of repeatedly refreshing their mountain report webpage every hour beside my expensive snowboard rental eagerly waiting to shred. - "WIND HOLD - UPDATE AT 10AM" For a while it had already been well past 10AM and no update yet... - "We are planning to open Chair #1 at 11AM ... with full operations by 12PM" almost made me start the ~2hr drive to their resort already. Imagine the infuriating waste of gas that would've been. - "Snow Play will be open Saturday" Sounds like an assurance... - Finally! Unfortunately we will not be open" Again?? Mer alors! + Silver lining: Thank you Mt Baldy at least for notifying me before I already started driving up the mountain. - "we're still hopeful!" Their website kept saying "Please select at least one rate type to continue", so I kept selecting the single parking ticket rate, but the website wouldn't relent. - Occasionally it'd give me a tease by loading a new page... only to reveal "Not Confirmed" or "404 Page not found". . Note: I eventually realized by "rate" the website meant to buy an actual ski ticket, meaning you can't buy a parking ticket without buying a ski ticket... Well that defeats the purpose of a free ski ticket, innit? (lol I did slang in Spanish, French, and British) - lol so much for the online marketing tease "prepaid parking is discounted!" After 5 days without response, I tried again. ~ Finally, 13 days since my thumb-twiddling had begun, they finally get back to me. Kinda. The lift tickets and rentals are significantly cheaper than the bigger resorts in the area but you will need to book both online in advance. You can also book parking in advance and it is cheaper to do so. I wish there was more information on the website to tell us what to expect. So here is my experience. Once you arrive at the parking lot, they will ask for payment. If you have booked in advance, you just tell them and they will wave you through. Just follow the staff's directions to park. We arrived at about 8:30am on a Saturday morning and there was plenty of parking available. You will then walk up a short but steep hill into the check-in hut. At this point, the will request that you fill in a waiver, which you should fill in online prior to arrival to speed up the process. You only need to fill this in once per season. Then you will be handed your parking ticket (for proof when you exit - but no one checked, as well as your lift ticket. You will be directed to the sugar pine chairlift #1, which is about a 20 min ride up to the resort area. This was probably the coldest part of the trip in the morning as the sun had yet to reach into the valley and the wind was quite strong. Once we got up onto resort level, we headed to the right which was the renal hut. The rental fitting process was quite smooth. You had to complete a form to, and when it's your turn, you hand the form to a member of staff who would send the relevant size to you. You start with the ski boot and then skis (or board). While you are waiting, you can grab helmets off the shelves in the waiting area. The last piece of equipment would be your poles (if needed) as you exit). On the day we went, the snow was packed powder and pretty good to ski on. As the day wore on, it got a little slushy in places but still very nice to ski on. It was quite warm and there were people who removed their jackets. The trails are not well marked so we spent quite a lot of time staring at the map. Turns out we went onto a wrong trail at one point! There were barely any lines at the lifts, nor was it super crowded, so we could get our runs in quite quickly. On the other hand, there isn't a wide variety of beginner runs. As for food, well, the food is standard ski lodge food - not great and quite expected. There was a line but unlike other ski resorts, we were able to get seating pretty quickly and the line was not too long. I imagine it could get worse in peak season when you have more folks coming up for snow play. So maybe bring some food. Talking about bringing food, there aren't any lockers for your valuables. We were told we could leave our bags in open cubbies. I carried my bag since I wanted water on my, but in hindsight, since the mountain wasn't big, I could have left it and just carried my wallet and phone. Overall, it was a lovely first experience skiing here. I would like to check it out in peak season when there's more traffic to see how the infrastructure handles the crowds. It's really nice to be able to ski without my toes and fingers freezing up or waiting in long lines.

The fact that some people can be A-holes isn't what bothered me, what bothered me is the incredibly slow and lackadaisical response from the staff. The attendant from the lift was doing her best to separate them while I watched 1 staff member slowly walk over. Second, and this was the most troubling, was the lack of attention to beginner-level skiers on lift 2. My wife took our 6-year-old, first-time skier on to lift 2 while I followed right behind. We both let the attendant know it was his first time on the lift to which she just responded "chase the chair and you'll be fine". As the chair came around I watched my son almost fall off the seat. My wife and I both yelled stop as she pulled him back on. Without even turning to look, the attendant nonchalantly said "he's fine, he was on". When we reached the top of the lift, there was no assistance to help them and they ended up taking a big fall off the chair, both hitting their heads and my wife injuring her tailbone. They stopped the lift just long enough to get them to the side before resuming again. They let us know in the future we should give them a thumbs down on the approach and they'll slow down the lift. It would have been REALLY nice if the attendant at the bottom of the hill had let us know that. As we gathered ourselves on the benches, we watched beginner after beginner fall as soon as the chair pushed them forward. Often times there were 4-5 people on the ground, creating obstacles for other skiers to avoid as they exited the lift. Several times we watched the exiting skiers fall over previous skiers that weren't able to clear the area. All this to say, the concern for safety and level of professionalism left a lot to be desired and we do not plan on returning.

There was free parking that was easy to find and gear up at. This particular location doesn't feel large and since it was kind of sunny and a weekday, I think a lot of the trails and some of the lifts were shutdown during my visit. Not a big deal at all since my goal was to avoid large weekend crowds and shake off my personal cobwebs and just enjoy myself at my own speed. Getting my pass ready at the entrance using my phone, emails, and the app was pretty straightforward. Once I got that situated, I was able to start making my way to the first main lift and head up. The crowds during a weekday (early 2/2026) were so small, I was able to take my own chair up without having any traffic behind me. I can't speak for experienced skiers and snowboarders since even a decade ago, I would consider myself a solid intermediate snowboarder (that didn't do any tricks) and I will say it's a solid resort especially what I was looking for. I was able to go down the trails and constantly go up the lifts so quickly and my muscle memory all started coming back albeit with a few minor spills. After a while, I wanted to grab a beer and make my way over to Big Bear since I had the pass that allowed me to experience both parks. Definitely a solid snow resort that isn't too intense and is great for the proximity of people who live in the LA/ IE area.

I also like one of their runs being spacious and wide for ease of maneuverability. Base of the mountain during peak season also have a wide variety of food and beverage options. Their bloody marry are really good here. I would recommend you get one of these for those cold days for a light snack with a kick to move you along until the last run. I have seen the lift ticket system change throughout the decades and I'm glad that they are updating their process to move the lines along. During peak season, there are multiple locations that you can park where shuttles will take you to and from the base. Parking in the main lot does come with a fee. Slow days or weekdays are usually $25 per vehicle. Overall, it's a great place to board with a nice view of the lake. Can't wait to get back on the slope with good snow.

Usually the first class is free but I did pay $30 - $40 for each trial class. My son didn't like the robotics class at all. He said the instructor was having a hard time keeping the kids engaged or on task. He also said the classroom was dirty and there were not enough parts or components so they had to get some from other rooms. As a new trial student you would think the instructor would give some background or guidance but he said there was no explanation or instruction from the instructor on what was going on. She was just helping kids that needed help or find parts for them. He knew one of the other kids in the class so he just sat next to him and observed (not sure why I had to pay for him to just sit & observe). He was supposed to take the coding class right after, but he was already done and didn't want to go back inside. We went after school on a Friday so he was already tired. Since I already paid for both trials, I rescheduled the coding class. They were very accommodating & rescheduled us a couple of times. He said this coding class was much better and the instructor was better. All the coding was done on the computer. My impression from the 3 times I walked in was it's chaotic: kids darting here and there and some parents picking up their kids. There are tables with robotics and coding plaques or instruments by the entrance and hallways, cluttered & dusty. The 2 young gals there were very nice but just sitting at their desks looking at their computer monitors amidst the chaos. They didn't ask him how the trial class went. Didn't seem organized or clean. I had high hopes with all the 5 star reviews on yelp but was not impressed. It's in a narrow and long strip mall with different businesses: a dentist and 2 - 3 other tutoring type afterschool places. Looks like a lot of local kids hang out after school. My son has gone to a dozen or so lego, coding and robotics camps over the last 2 summers and he said he prefers those classes/camps.
