He arrived as scheduled to evaluate, measure and prepare the estimate, and he brought samples of his work. He also made several excellent recommendations for enhancing safety and appearance. His estimate was quite reasonable for this type of custom fabrication and installation. We accepted and he arrived to begin work as agreed. After meticously fitting and tack welding, he took the rails back to his shop for finish welding, then out for powder coating. During this time he kept us informed of the status, and delivered and installed the rails when promised. The quality of his finished product and the installation far exceeded our highest expectations and Grant was personable, professional and very pleasant to work with. I highly recommend Mindsight Metal for railings and custom metal fabrication.

I contacted TSE from a recommendation of another trades person, and I can't say enough about the high level of service I received. Generator Technican Morgan Anderson came by at the appointed time, and he quickly serviced everything. He found a problem with acid leaking around the battery post. I said I had that repaired about a year ago with a new cable for lots of $$ from the original install company (not TSE), but Morgan said that would never fix the problem as it was the battery. He replaced the battery and trimmed the battery cable back three inches, attached a new post clamp and finished. I wish I had called them last year to avoid the expensive repair (base fee to send out a technician was $450 not including parts!) Morgan is so friendly and competent and is happy to explain what he is doing making suggestions to keep my Generac, which I love, working at peak level. I also got great service from the office manager who took my call to schedule the appointment. And when I made the appointment, the manager said that they charge a flat fee including many normal wear parts for a fraction of the company that installed my system. Of course, I had to pay for the new battery. I highly recommend TSE for Generac installation and maintenance.

I called them regarding our very old but wonderful refrigerator, knowing it might be time for "last rites". Mike was able to fix the immediate problem temporarily. The technician was professional, clearly experienced, and identified a legitimate issue with my refrigerator that I was not previously aware of. That said, I will not be moving forward with additional services because of my experience with pricing transparency. I originally scheduled service for a dishwasher diagnostic. Over the phone, I was quoted approximately $150-$165 for the dishwasher diagnostic, not including any additional parts or labor if repairs were needed. While the dishwasher diagnostic cycle was running, the technician began discussing Samsung appliances with me and mentioned that my refrigerator model may have a common issue. He asked if I minded him taking a quick look at it while he was waiting on the dishwasher cycle. My understanding from the conversation was that this was a quick courtesy look while time was already passing during the dishwasher diagnostic. I agreed. He briefly inspected the refrigerator, pointed out ice buildup, checked the temperature, and explained the likely issue and what the repair would cost. I appreciated the information, and I do believe he correctly identified a problem that may need attention. The issue came at the end of the visit when my final bill was just over $250. When I asked about the difference from the original dishwasher diagnostic quote, I was told the additional amount was because he looked at the refrigerator. My concern is not that the refrigerator inspection had value. It did. My concern is that I was not clearly told beforehand that looking at the refrigerator would be an additional diagnostic charge. Had I been told, "I can take a look at the refrigerator too, but it will be an additional charge," I likely would have approved it. The problem is that the way it was presented -- as something being done quickly while waiting on the dishwasher cycle -- made it feel like a courtesy or part of the same visit. Overall, I think this company knows appliances and appears capable. However, based on my experience, I would recommend confirming all charges in writing before agreeing to have them look at anything beyond the original appliance you scheduled service for. Clearer upfront communication about additional diagnostic fees would have made this a much better experience. For anyone wondering why I chose two stars: Yelp labels two stars as "could've been better," and that accurately reflects my opinion of this experience. The technician seemed knowledgeable, and I do think the company is capable, but the pricing communication could have been much clearer. That is ultimately why I feel two stars is warranted.
