To Crystal, the business owner of Ace Handyman Services- if you must try to unpaint yourself out of…read morea corner, then know that I will certainly respond. EVERY TIME. Yes I "fired" (not sure why that was in quotes- that's what I did) a contractor who told me our tiny bathroom would be finished in 5 days tops. Because the other bathroom is only a powder room, we already had to shower at the cabana at our condo complex. One worker was sent who started at 9, left for a good 2 hours to go to Home Depot to buy supplies for other customer jobs (all my supplies were pre-bought) and left at 3:00 every day. My husband took a week's vacation to sit in the condo while the bathroom was being worked on and after the 5 days was over, he was not even close. We were then asked to leave our key under the mat so someone could work while we were gone. We reluctantly did this, only to find our key under the mat when we got home, and finding that no one had showed up. That was DAY 12! And the shower mixer wasn't installed correctly, so the water barely got lukewarm. I had to call a plumber to get that fixed, and was lucky enough to call Evan from ProMax Water Heater who walked me through the repair on the phone and I fixed it myself. That guy is the absolute best!!! (Check out my review of Evan from ProMax- he's AMAZING). So YES CRYSTAL, I fired that company. Jeesh. Now, back to you. There was no leftover tile work. The guy set the baseboards and didn't grout them. I finished it myself and it wasn't hard. Now, if you needed to send a tile "expert" to grout 4 feet of baseboard then I'm not sure you understand what grouting 4 feet of baseboard entails. My bathroom needed someone to finish the drywall work. Period. I've explained that several times, so I'm surprised in all your meticulous note-taking that you are still completely confused by that. I did not need a tiling pro- I needed a really decent drywall guy, or maybe I needed the King of Drywall- I don't know, check your notes... And as for all my "really specific" timeframes, I had 10 days off for the holidays. I was told it would take all of 2 days to complete this little job (including draping plastic over the toilet and vanity, which I calculate would take 5 minutes if your guy was also a plastic-draping expert too). There would be one day in between for the mud to thoroughly dry, so 3 days total. I'm a pretty fast learner, so no, I wasn't going to leave the key under the mat again- I had 10 days off and was told the job could happen during that time. If it was such a heartache for you to schedule around the holidays because employees want to take time off, then here's what I would've said, "We'd love to take a look at your job, but we won't have anyone available until after the New Year." See how easy that is? Clients have the right to expect excellent, transparent, professional communication. I am not being difficult in my request that work done IN MY HOME is conducted during a time that works best for me. That doesn't make me high maintenance, it makes me organized.

I was looking for someone to help me transform an 18'x12' space in our lower living floor in to a…read moresmall home theater for a while when I was fortunate to find Adam. I was really hoping to take advantage of real home theater equipment with a dedicated receiver and speakers instead of having to settle for a sound bar yet again. To say that Adam was the perfect find in my quest for this project would be an understatement! From our first meeting where he swung by for a walkthrough of my space and I had the opportunity to first describe my end goal I knew he was who I wanted to work with. His undivided attention to my vision and patience answering all my questions peppered with critical advice wherever needed was exactly what I needed. I decided to proceed with hiring him for my project after our initial sync. Right from the beginning he was very cognizant of my budget and needs and did a fantastic job helping me choose just the right equipment I'd need to truly get the most out of my investment. The amount of time and effort he invested in addressing all my questions/concerns and helping me narrow down things to the best components for the space and my price range is something I will always really appreciate. We went over a few quotes and settled on the final setup after which we collaborated on purchasing the equipment(some of the components I purchased directly, while the rest he procured for me from his distributors). Adam kept me posted at every step of the way from ordering through delivery of the necessary equipment until we finally scheduled the install date once we had all the equipment delivered. On the install date, Adam arrived promptly, and set out to work tirelessly until the entire room was wired up, equipment installed and perfectly callibrated and my mind blown with the final result. He did a fantastic job of running the required speaker wire under the baseboards and mounting the equipment(including an 83" panel) cleanly, and then calibrating the entire system for the space. Additionally I'd requested some help with lighting in a few spaces. Even though the overall work went over by a few hours compared to what was originally quoted(which is perfectly reasonable for the quality of work performed), and for which I'd have gladly paid him for his efforts, Adam only charged me for the hours that he'd originally quoted me. That type of integrity is just rare to come across! His work ethic, attention to detail and honesty is inspiring and I'd recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone that has similar needs for a project. I've included a few pictures of the before and after setup of the space mentioned above.

He also wired internet line from my router in my office through the crawl space to the cabinet. So happy with the install and the way it looks....really clean. Also wired another volume control for my home speaker system. I got a couple quotes and his was the best. Had some guys wanting to drill holes and set up conduit through the outside of my house. A year later and Adam is still prompt with answering occasional questions. Highly recommended. You'll be happy with the end product.
