Looked foward to eating here when we came back to Franklin. Not disappointed. Had pecan oancake special with eggs & bacon. Pancakes still tall but light. Eggs cooked perfectly. Bacon a touch to crispy for my liking but very tasty. Will try to stop again before we leave. Defiantly on our next trip. read more

Well the service is is top notch! The gals are going around like crazy and on top of everything and very nice. NO problems with service whatsoever. They are great. I just didnt find the food appealing. I felt it's like school cafeteria food. Just average at best and served in those tan unbreakable dishes like many schools used to use. Much of the food seems to be of the cheapest quality, like the cole slaw, potato salad, chicken, syrup, butter, sausage and more. The sausage seemed like it had been frozen awhile too. The potatos and gravy and the corned beef hash both SUPER salty, could have done with less than half the salt they put in there. Nice service can often disguise less than stellar food and this is what is going on here in MY opinion. I know others might disagree. The strangest thing of all is all the hack marks on the blueberry pancakes. Not only that they were served wrong side up. A professional cook should be able to get the temperature of the griddle where it needs to be easily. So can many occasional home chefs. One guess as to why they hack up the pancakes is to check if they are done. Its only a guess but a chef who knows what he is doing doesnt have to hack up each cake to check doneness. If it wasnt done for that reason, then its just plane scary!! The chef had a red headband and lots of tattoos. I doubt his name is Lois! Each pancake had about 10 hack marks on it then he puts them face down so you dont see then as well, but then the wrong side is up. Just weird. Really weird. I'll post a pic but dont know how well the hack marks will show. The sunny side up eggs though were done well. They also have outdoor seating but it was hot out and everyone was inside. The place is STILL cash only. I am amazed how many places think they are saving money this way. In reality more than 3-4% of your people opt to eat elsewhere, or order less as they want to conserve the cash they have, or want to make sure they dont run short as that would be totally embarrassing so they order less. Cash only shows the owner doesnt understand, and/or doesn't care about the needs or desires of their customers. Cash only does NOT add to the charm. Three stars is really being generous here as the only good thing is the service. read more

Quick friendly service. Food mostly homemade. The green beans and corn were the best things on our plates. Fried squash not good, freezer stock, not fresh. Biscuit tasted like Bisquick mix. This restaurant was highly recommended by the ladies at the Beauty Shop. My Mom and I decided to get a take out order to try it out. The friendly welcome set the stage and the food was delicious! Momma said it was the best chuck wagon she had tasted since the 80's! The turkey, dressing and cornbread were delicious. The restaurant was busy at 2 PM in the afternoon which is a pretty good sign. Not great. Biscuits crumble and the home fries are just deep fried potato chunks with no additional flavor complexity. Sausage patties were gross. Gravy didn't have but one chunk of crumbled sausage. Stopped through on our way back home from the mountains. Staff was very friendly and food was tasty. We got a Reuben,cheeseburgers, and kids chicken tenders. Also got a slice if coconut creme pie. Everything was good and kids ate up theirs as well. Restaurant is small but the tables turn over quickly so you'll be seated soon even if there's a tiny wait. read more

I had the opportunity to go to breakfast here this morning with my mother and her neighbors. They eat breakfast here everyday except Sunday and that is because they are not open Sunday. They serve breakfast and lunch, the food is fresh and delicious. I had the french toast, which was very good. Once person at our table had blueberry pancakes, which looked amazing, but I happen to not like pancakes. They were loaded with fresh blueberries and a pretty large portion. The others at our table had eggs which looked to be cooked very well. I saw another patron eating biscuits and gravy, which looked so delicious, but I don't eat meat, so they were not on my plate. If you find yourself in the Franklin area, I recommend a stop here for breakfast or lunch. read more

Note to restaurants in the south: gravy (as in 'biscuits with') is made with sausage drippings, flour, milk, salt and pepper NOT a powder mixed with water. And coffee is not just a brown liquid. Group of 3 came for late breakfast / early lunch on a Monday, while passing through town. This is a hole in the wall diner. Place is very small (maybe 10-12 tables total), and wouldn't be able to accommodate a large group, but it was perfect for us. Had a 5-10 min wait. The entry/exit situation is awkward. Signs say the stop serving breakfast at 11, but my guess is that they'll make it if you order it. Specials are written on board but if not, make sure to ask about them. My daughter ordered "Harley's" meal which was one large pancake, 1 egg and one large piece of thick/stiff bacon. They made pancake in the shape of Mickey Mouse which was cute. I had the fried chicken wrap with ranch and crinkly cut fries. My mom had the lunch special which was meatloaf and choice of 3 sides (she chose green beans, mashed potatoes and coleslaw). The 2 waitresses were working super hard and were very sweet. The only negative was that the food took a very long time to get ready. But let me tell you, when it was ready, it was so delicious. Definitely come here, just make sure you aren't in a hurry. Bill was around $23. Really great food and hard working staff. read more

Absolutely LOVED this place! I got the pan fried chicken and it was delicious! It's even better dipped in their ranch dressing. YUM! The mashed potatoes & gravy is really good too. The best dessert is their Key Lime Pie. It's not your ordinary key lime pie because it has a whipped custard. It's very light & airy with a graham cracker crust. I cannot wait to come back!!!
