I tried the fried chicken with rice and peas topped with oxtail gravy, and the portion size was very generous. The flavors were solid and gave me that comforting taste I look for in Jamaican food. I also couldn't leave without grabbing a bottle of sorrel. After tasting it in the car, I immediately wished I had bought more than one! The only challenge is the location -- it's a bit hidden. A flag sign on the outer side of the parking deck could help bring more visibility and make it easier for first-time visitors to find. Overall, Irie Mon is a hidden gem worth checking out. The food is solid, the portions are great, and I'll definitely be back!

I'm a music person, and I didn't hear any Caribbean music playing. So that was new... My niece and I ordered the brown stew chicken, which came with rice and peas and plantains. It was pretty flavorful. I guess with prices skyrocketing, it's the new norm to pay $21 for brown stew chicken?! That's pretty high to me... especially since I didn't get any cabbage and the chicken pieces we received were all chicken backs... . Not even a leg . Overall the service was ok. Like I said, we just finished an event so the line was pretty long. I probably wouldn't return because I don't feel like the price was worth it.
