Food was reasonably priced. I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was just okay, but the waffles and syrup were great. The bacon could've been chopped a bit finer to blend into the dish better. The pork belly was awesome though. Good portion size and seriously delicious. Our server was great. Attentive, friendly, and a little quirky the whole time. The vibe was decent. It felt a little cold(physically) and the layout was a bit strange, but overall it was a good experience and I'd come back. It was a good random pick on my way home. read more

The food was awful. The pulled pork was dry and stringy and the brisket was dry as well. They use bottled bbq sauce. The cowboy beans were also disgusting. Beans with ground beef. The ground beef tasted like it was days old. The only decent thing was the creme brulee cheescake which isn't made there. I would highly discourage anyone from going to this place. The waitress was very nice and I left her a good tip. read more

Worst fish fry I've had in Chautauqua County in years. It was not cooked all the way through.

Had the most wonderful experience in this small but fabious little haven. The food speaks for itself. The service was amazing. The Ambience was cozy but the sence of community felt immense. After hearing for years that this was one of the area's better restaurants, we were finally pushed to visit by friends who told us the cuisine is "elevated." First of all, I'm not sure when it became at all acceptable to have a swarm of flies buzzing around the center of your restaurant, but that was one of the first things we found we'd have to endure throughout our meal on a humid afternoon. Worse though was the food, the wings were just below mediocre, tasted like they'd been frozen, and the broiled fish was so overcooked, dry to the core. One of the best places to get 50 cent wings in Fredonia. Every flavor is delicious. I also love their steaks. The inside atmosphere is so cozy and much nicer than you'd expect from the outside. This place is lesser known to the college crowd, but is always packed for 50 cent wings. read more

Six of us (all from out of town) met here on a Tuesday evening. A few important points to start with.....Not being from the area, Fred's is difficult to find if you blink. GPS will get you to the correct location but signage for the restaurant is down the side access driveway to the Municipal Parking lot, as is the entrance to the restaurant itself. Don't be fooled by the exterior of the building; the interior is quite nice. Don't be fooled by the short list of menu items listed on Yelp nor the menu download on the website link; it is only the takeout menu. The dine-in menu is twice as large, the portions generous, the food was tasty, and the prices are very reasonable. Equally important, our server Ashley S. (A.K.A. "Spaz") was amazing! She is a very hard working individual who was a friendly and clearly a dedicated employee. A brief conversation with the owner reveals he is involved with the future reopening of Fredonia's historic White Inn. We wish him well in his future business pursuits. read more

Gone downhill. My first time back (and probably the last) since the COVID shutdowns proved disappointing. Now they seat you for lunch and you get to wait for that. Then a wait for drinks etc. They used to have the best hand cut fries but now the usual processed tripe. Our burgers had no flavor at all. The drinks were flat and I was never offered a refill. I used to genuinely enjoy going here until one day I had to place an order for pick up and the lady was extremely rude to me. I had lost the menu on my phone and couldn't remember the name of my order so I politely asked her to hold on one minute while I find what I wanted. She then went on to say "oh my God are you serious" without realizing she wasn't far enough away from the phone. Then she proceeded to tell me she wasn't talking about me and she had a bar full of people. Given she was only talking with me the comment was clearly in regards to her having to wait a little longer me. This employee was rude and unapologetic. Very unprofessional and poor experience. Friday night..time to unwind...we ended up here because of yelp reviews! The best and biggest butter-garlic-parm wings I have ever had! Delicious fried pickles! The portion was 2-3 times bigger than you get elsewhere! The Buffalo Chicken salad was delicious as well, and the salad was huge! Truly delicious food, and TWO carry out Boxes! I'm a Fan! It took forever to get us seated. Which, we can be totally patient about but it wasn't even busy. So that was silly. The crowd at the bar, INCLUDING the owner and waitresses were very rowdy and swearing up a storm. Took forever for anyone to get our drinks and take our order. Again, not even very many people there so I saw no reason. I got the chicken sandwich with a stuffed banana pepper on it. It had the potential to be good but the pepper tasted like it was frozen. Very poor quality. No flavor. The French onion soup was so salty, it was almost inedible. Which is a shame because it was delicious in flavor. Just wayyyy too much salt. Such a shame that the "townies" made the environment here so inhospitable and that the service and food were so disappointing. read more

Yelp did it again. Traveling on the NYS Thruway...needed a cold beer and a bite to eat! This will now be our regular pit stop from NY to Ohio and back (only 2 miles off of our route) . We would never have gone here, without a Yelp recommendation. Doesn't look like much from the outside. Nothing fancy inside...but, nice full bar with a free popcorn maker...and Harry, the bartender was a hoot! The Beef on Weck is the real deal! My roommate wanted to take me to Fred's because she had two great experiences here. That was not the case for me. We started off with appetizers - chicken wing dip and firecracker shrimp. The dip was delicious and the shrimp were huge! However, the tortilla chips served with the dip were stale and the shrimp were just battered, deep fried, and then tossed in what seemed to be Frank's sweet chili sauce. I was not impressed. For my entree, I decided to go with one of the specials, which was mix-and-match tacos. They featured a seared tuna, pulled pork, and buffalo chicken. The tuna was cooked fine, but the cole slaw they use on it seemed to have a strong horseradish (I'm not 100% sure) flavor, which overpowered any flavor the tuna may have had. The pork was bland and dry. I feel like they should have put some BBQ sauce on there. When I ate my leftovers the next day, I added some BBQ sauce of my own and it was much better. The buffalo chicken taco was probably the best one, but it still wasn't great. The chicken was too thick for my tastes and, as far as the sauce issue, it was the opposite from the pork; the meat was saturated in blue cheese dressing and hot sauce. Fortunately, the three other friends I went with seemed to very much enjoy their meals, but then again, they ordered off the regular menu, not from the specials menu. read more

The food is great but the service is absolutely terrible. They treat you like garbage. They ignore you and act like it's a pain the ass to be serving you. Staff should think about finding different professions. You say thank you and they don't respond they just walk away. The food is generally top notch at Fred's. We go there for Wing Wednesdays often and recommend them to everyone. Our recent visit was different, the Buffalo Bleu wings I ordered looked like someone forgot they were suppose to be more than just buffalo and just dumped a huge amount of Bleu cheese on them as an after thought, not only was this not what I ordered but the Bleu cheese got all over the other flavor of wings I ordered as well. Also, we got stuck with the same rude waitress we get there nearly every time we go. The hostess and the other waitresses are usually attentive and pleasant, but not this one. Unless you are buying drink after drink, she doesn't come to the table. Just a disappointing visit overall. read more

I wasn't sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves or not, so I asked a nearly waitress and say just said "uh no!" with the most annoying attitude.
