Our party arrived right on time for our 7:00 pm reservation and we're rudely told to wait with no apology, and we waited for 30 minutes before they sat us. It was extremely loud and hot so we waited outside. Once seated, we were all sweating bullets from how hot the restaurant was. We were told by our server they were out of scallops (which is why we came in the first place). Annoyed, the three of us wanting scallops ordered salmon. After an hour, our appetizer came (fried artichokes) and it was fine. 20 minutes later, they told us they were also out of salmon. We were pretty annoyed, it felt like our server didn't really care or maybe it was a normal occurrence. My dad got the pork chop and it was extremely dry. I got the seafood pasta and it was okay, nothing special. It was fourth of july weekend and we saw this american flag cake, of which THEY WERE ALSO OUT OF. Our server came by with the check claiming one of our meals was "comped" even though my MIL had only had the salad course of her meal and decided not to eat when they stated they were out of salmon. They gave us 15% off two of the other dishes that had to be reordered after the salmon debacle. We went to discuss with someone before leaving and were met by the owners' son. He was extremely rude to us, getting quite defensive when we were trying to tell him politely about our experience. His excuse was just that it was a "busy weekend"- which I would totally get if there was one or two issues instead of the plethora we had. Not impressed. They handed out bread plates when we sat down and yet they were not offering bread tonight. At the table we had two BLT salads, Buffalo salad, and a burger. The steak on the BLT salads was just ok; not very flavorful. Thought the quality could've been better. The buffalo salad lacked a reasonable amount of chicken and (again) the salad was just ok. Where do I start? We arrived with our group exactly at reservation time. Music playing way too loud. The server greeted us and announced they are waiting on the bartender to show up. Thirty minutes later we get out first drinks. Mine was delivered wrong and two of the beers asked for they were out of after server trips back and forth. Success at the third beer choice! Food delivery time. One dish out of six was actually served warm. The other five dishes were lukewarm at best. Cold mashed potatoes, cold soup, cold rice and barely warm scallops. The steaks were all cold and not properly cooked. barely singed on both sides. The server pretty much disappeared for fifteen minutes making sending it back impossible. For what is billed as a "high end" restaurant this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I and the rest of our party have ever had. What the heck happened Brazills??? You were obviously not prepared to serve anyone at our reservation time. There were only two tables to be served at this time!!! read more

Traveled to NY from VA to see the solar eclipse. Very glad we wandered into Brazill's for dinner on Saturday night. We were lucky enough to get a table for two with no wait even though the dining room was obviously bustling. We started with cocktails: a Manhattan and a cosmo. Both were made very well. Strong but balanced. We had the calamari appetizer. The breading was light and crispy, and the calamari was tender and juicy. For entrees, husband ordered the T-bone special, and I had the braised short rib. Mine tasted like the most delicious pot roast served with green beans and veryyy satisfying mashed potatoes. Husband enjoyed his T-bone very much. But my favorite thing was the music playlist. I absolutely LOVE listening to Otis Redding, Etta James, Sam & Dave, and all the classics. Ate here for a Friday night dinner- specifically for "First Friday's" ... a time when shops and other vendors have a table out on Main Street and people shop and eat. We were in the mood for some greens so we ordered the special they had for appetizers, roasted Brussels sprouts with Parmesan and we each ordered their steak salad. Wow wow wow- the Brussels were amazing , cooked perfectly and the cheese to top it off was niiiice. The salad was just as good - i HATE when restaurants slather their salads with dressing- which is why I tend to get the dressing on the side, but this time I forgot! To my pleasant surprise, it was the perfect amount of dressing (whew!) Everything we ordered was delish and the service was friendly. Portions were hefty- we didn't leave hungry! We visit Brazill's a couple times a year. We always look forward to our visit because they usually have fun specials for food and drinks. This time we enjoyed a the bacon wrapped shrimp with a siracha drizzle. My wife had the 5 and 20 braised short rib with mushrooms, cauliflower and mashed potatoes. The beef was tender and had a ton of flavor. I had the maple mustard glazed salmon with wild rice and cauliflower. The salmon was cooked nicely and the glaze added a really nice flavor. We had our son with us so we had to get dessert. They have a variety of pies form a local pie shop that we also frequent often. We had a piece of strawberry rhubarb and a piece of coconut cream. They were both very good. We may not be back this year but look forward to our next visit to Bascule. read more

The bartender and a server told us to just stand at the door (literally stand blocking the entrance) Who would know this? The food was mediocre. Absolutely fabulous experience. Excellent service . Definitely recommend a reservation in advance. We visited on a Saturday night without one and we're just able to squeeze in at the bar. A packed house is always a great sign! Our bartender took our orders quickly. He served our drinks and brought out bread and oil to snack on. He was working hard with a smile in his face the whole time. We ordered the braised short ribs with mushrooms and mashed potatoes. It was TO DIE FOR. Wild... I grade on a curve for Chautauqua County, but no curve needed for the most tender flat-iron steak I can remember. Corn soup had ample spice, but was well balanced and unexpectedly good. Last, the fried cheese curds surprised me by being far lighter than most. The one oddity (and it was far from bad) was that the dinner roll seemed out of place. (Fried artichokes were our favorite) Saw bartender/waiter cleaning menus&other items between service. Only complaints- the menu online doesn't note that the sandwiches were for lunch only(we were more interested in those than dinner items) & the stuffed mushrooms- received only 3 small mushroom caps (price was$9- was a little high. 5-6 mushroom caps may have been more reasonable) I would go back next time I'm visiting. read more

Had been a couple of years since our last visit - pre pandemic. Had a great experience then and again this time! Shared the Sausage and Spinach Stuffed Mushrooms appetizer. OMG! A flavorful explosion in the mouth and the four 'shrooms quickly disappeared. We both had the soup instead of salad (Asiago Broccoli?). A small cup was delicious and just the right size. My bourbon maple bacon jam, gorgonzola cream, Flat Iron Steak was awesome (you read the description right). Just a hint of maple and bacon with blue cheese goodness over a perfectly cooked medium-rare steak. My wife had the Pan Seared Sea Scallops, making constant "yummy noises" while consuming. She loved her Ginger Martini cocktail. My only, very minor, quibble was my house special Cosmopolitan cocktail. It was not as cold as I would have preferred, was a bit cloudy and had a bit of lime pulp in it. Not bad but not as perfect as the rest of our food and drink. Brazil's is not inexpensive but we highly recommend it! I'd vote for a Michelin Star, if that were possible :) read more

This restaurant is very cute and pretty upscale for Westfield. I was part of a group of 12 as a girls dinner for a friends bachelorette. We had reservations (books a few weeks ahead) and were seating right away when we arrived and our drink orders were taken pretty quickly. This is when the waiting started! Our waitress seemed stressed and although she was very pleasant, it was a slow dinner. It took awhile to even order our food and then a long time for salads. The one flatbread we ordered actually came out minutes before the salads for everyone else at the table. When dinner came, our salad plates were not taken away before the food came so there was an awkward amount of plates and not enough hands to do it all. The food was pretty good. I ordered the bacon wrapped steak and had a salad. I would give the food a 4, but the service was about a 2 1/2-3 considering this is one of the nicest restaurants in the area. Oh, they also never once asked if anyone wanted another round of their alcoholic drinks/wine/soda, and most of us would have! So we stuck with the water... and we also had to ask for the bread and butter while waiting, when we noticed other tables received it automatically with their drinks! read more

The ONLY reason this place is getting 2 stars instead of 1 is because it's not a chain - plain and simple. I may never go back here, but I'll give it two stars because of a few things they did right. First of all - the place was clean and it was cool - temperature - inside. The menu was on the way out - so a lot of the items were no longer available. Too bad they didn't have anything to replace those items that were no longer available - made me feel like I might be eating left overs or something. The pricing was slightly higher then some places, but this place was a bit more classy I guess is how I will put it. However, the server we had was absolutely the worst. I'd normally not say that, but this girl didn't have many people to take care of and she still messed everything up. And where she stopped messing up - the kitchen started. Here goes - when we arrived there were two women sitting at one small table that obviously were done - they were basically just sitting and chatting. There was another couple that had also just finished eating - and basically they were waiting for their check. In my opinion that was taking a bit too long - because the server only had my wife and I to attend to at this point. Why - because there were only two other people - two males sitting up at the bar. Then my wife and I - the only two people in the place to serve. The drinks - ice water for me and a special drink for my wife were served promptly. Though the specialty drink was a bit high priced - the water was free and our order was being taken. I asked for a cup of the "soup of the day" and my wife ordered a side salad - so we could get something quickly before our entrees, which were a turkey club with fries and a hamburger with fries. My soup was delivered warm - perhaps tepid - but I was hungry and ate it. My wife's side salad was fresh - small but fresh! At this point we thought we were going to have a nice late lunch. However, late was more like it. 45 minutes and our turkey club and hamburger were still not ready. Visions of Gordon Ramsey surfaced! I was extremely hungry by this point and got up and walked over to our absent minded server who informed me that they just realized that the kitchen never got the order. It was blamed on the computer because no one wanted to take the blame. I went back and sat down where my wife clearly saw how angry I was and said - let's go - let's pay for what we got and get out of here. So we did - however, the thing that did impress me was the bar tender - perhaps owner/manager who said everything was on the house! He apologized immensely and asked us to give them another try. I seriously doubt we will be back - but - well - this is the reason for two stars. I think they had a a bad day - or more likely - they have a server who needs to find a different calling! read more
