    short ribs - YUM!
    Bryan M.

Had a delicious meal over the holiday season when I was back east visiting family. The appetiser was fried artichokes hearts and a cup of white chili. My entrée was a tasty dish of short ribs, mushrooms, and pea pods. We had a friendly server and the space was cosy and comfy. I look forward to another visit when I'm on the east coast.

Always great service, food and atmosphere at Brazill's! Reservations are likely needed unless you sit at the bar.

Traveled to NY from VA to see the solar eclipse. Very glad we wandered into Brazill's for dinner on Saturday night. We were lucky enough to get a table for two with no wait even though the dining room was obviously bustling. We started with cocktails: a Manhattan and a cosmo. Both were made very well. Strong but balanced. We had the calamari appetizer. The breading was light and crispy, and the calamari was tender and juicy. For entrees, husband ordered the T-bone special, and I had the braised short rib. Mine tasted like the most delicious pot roast served with green beans and veryyy satisfying mashed potatoes. Husband enjoyed his T-bone very much. But my favorite thing was the music playlist. I absolutely LOVE listening to Otis Redding, Etta James, Sam & Dave, and all the classics. It was a perfect evening with everything from service to ambiance, and of course the food, being just what we wanted!

Stopped in for dinner after going to a few wineries and the food was delicious! We weren't starving but had the honey glazed salad and added salmon and it was great! We also tried the soup of the day which was a Philly cheese steak and super tasty. The staff was friendly and they take reservations which is always appreciated

Ate here for a Friday night dinner- specifically for "First Friday's" ... a time when shops and other vendors have a table out on Main Street and people shop and eat. We were in the mood for some greens so we ordered the special they had for appetizers, roasted Brussels sprouts with Parmesan and we each ordered their steak salad. Wow wow wow- the Brussels were amazing , cooked perfectly and the cheese to top it off was niiiice. The salad was just as good - i HATE when restaurants slather their salads with dressing- which is why I tend to get the dressing on the side, but this time I forgot! To my pleasant surprise, it was the perfect amount of dressing (whew!) Everything we ordered was delish and the service was friendly. Portions were hefty- we didn't leave hungry! No room for dessert so can't say much there! I recommend this place! And MAKE A RESERVATION- it gets busy !

5 and 20 braised short rib with mushrooms and a side of mashed potatoes and cauliflower

We visit Brazill's a couple times a year. We always look forward to our visit because they usually have fun specials for food and drinks. This time we enjoyed a the bacon wrapped shrimp with a siracha drizzle. My wife had the 5 and 20 braised short rib with mushrooms, cauliflower and mashed potatoes. The beef was tender and had a ton of flavor. I had the maple mustard glazed salmon with wild rice and cauliflower. The salmon was cooked nicely and the glaze added a really nice flavor. We had our son with us so we had to get dessert. They have a variety of pies form a local pie shop that we also frequent often. We had a piece of strawberry rhubarb and a piece of coconut cream. They were both very good. We may not be back this year but look forward to our next visit to Bascule.

Wonderful maple brined pork chop $23 with mashed & asparagus.

Love this place! Food is high end, compared to any fine dining restaurant BUT it's casual, moderately priced , and great cocktails!

There are beautiful manicured grounds with fruit trees around the spacious winery that has lots of seating options (we took our tasting flight at the bar). When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by their friendly staff who answered all of my questions about the local grapes and wines. We enjoy dry whites and reds. They did not disappoint. It was clear that they take pride in their excellent product. Every wine we tried was high-quality and we ended up taking several bottles home. We can't wait to return here on our next visit!

The main building was fine. We went up to the bar area to try. They have beer, cider, slushies, and wines. Lots to choose from. They also have some food. We drank but did not try the food. Christine our bartender was very nice and accommodating. We are a group that is split. We like sweet and dry. I am on the sweet side. It's 3 tastings for $5. So we picked the raspberry and the 2 ice wines. All 3 were delicious. The raspberry was like eating a raspberry. Kinda tart and sweet. The ice wines were winners as well. A few of the girls bought some bottles and we had a glass and sat outside. Now it was a hot day. In the low 80's. The large room in the main building was hot. They have fans on the ceiling but we found out they did not work. The place was crowded and those fans needed to work. Just to circulate the air. It was hot and sticky inside. They have a porch area and we took our glasses outside. Slushies were perfect cuz it was so hot. Overall good experience. Fix the fans and it be a bit better.

A local friend recommended Jack's Barcelona, and I decided to give it a try. Let's just say it was exactly what I needed on that particular day, at that particular moment. I sat at the bar and marveled at the décor -- so much to look at! Normally this style isn't really my vibe, but that day it hit the spot. The place is quirky in all the right ways; I especially loved the pillows for sale with what felt like serendipitous life-guiding slogans. I ordered the chili and a baked potato -- comfort food at its simplest. Not particularly exciting, and honestly, nothing special about the flavors. The wait was long, but I realized it was likely because two tables of four were served first, and I was at the bar. That gave me plenty of time to explore the fun details around me. Overall, it's a lovely experience with plenty of character, but the food itself didn't fully captivate me. Three stars for the quirky charm and atmosphere, but I wouldn't call it a must-visit for the cuisine alone.
