We like this place very much and go here regularly. Our visit Sunday was not up to par. The place…read morewas fairly empty; the bar area busier. Ordered cocktails and waited... Server came to take food out order and we asked about our drinks; be here in two minutes. Our food order was in front of us before our drinks ever arrived. Lesson learned, don't let them pressure you into ordering food until drinks in hand or they add bar staff. Burgers were awesome as always, as are the fries. Another pet peeve: one diner is finished with their meal and they come to clear dishes while the other person is still eating. This was not necessary; there was no wait and the place was at least half empty. Haven't experienced this at Tavery before and hope this was a one time off afternoon. Your service experience shouldn't overshadow an otherwise good experience.

I thought the mahi mahi tacos were good and the reaction to other dishes ranged from good to ok. Calimari was just ok- not crispy. Service was fine. Pricing was fair and even a bargain, $13, for a good glass of Pinot. We skipped dessert. The hostess was sweet. Hard to say if it would be an addition to our dining rotation but for Bronxville it just might check enough boxes for success. We will see.

I came here for brunch on a snowy winter day so there were only a handful of other patrons. It's a…read morecute little cafe with maybe 10 tables, plus bar seating. To start, we shared the crispy brussel sprouts Charleston style. These were delicious with the tangy sauce and large flakes of parmesan cheese. For my main, I had the brunch wrap. It comes with chips, but I swapped for fries for an additional charge. The wrap was a good size; I had half and saved the rest for leftovers. It was tasty, but not a ton of flavor. The tater tots were nice and crispy and I enjoyed the fresh tomatoes and avocado. They gave me a huge portion of crinkle cut fries, which also would've been great with a little more seasoning, but they were good when dipped in mayo. My husband got the shrimp and grits and appreciated the large portion size as well. I had a lemonade to drink. It was refreshing since it wasn't overly sweet. Service was great. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu!

Just as their tagline goes, this is undoubtedly a great place to get burgers, beer and grub. It's a…read moresomewhat small place with a great array of options, especially for lunch and brunch. Aesthetically, each table feels like a meal at a family dinner table; it's clear that they wanted that vibe to be translated, and it's done quite well. This is also supported by the service being very friendly and helpful in general. To eat, I had the French toast burger with sweet potato fries. Some others with me had various sides like regular fries and tater tots, and the same thing was present on them that tends not to be at most places: they were all perfectly salted/seasoned. It might seem immaterial, but it's a very good signal when something that simple--yet often neglected in favor of just using condiments to mask it--is executed well. If you're a burger place with fries that taste great without the need for a sauce or condiment, you're doing something right. The French toast burger was likewise fantastic, combining sweet and savory in a great way. To drink, we all got a communal pitcher of the only frozie they had available at the time: a kind of jungle juice vodka slushie. It, too, was great--worthy of multiple rounds. All in all, here's a place that I can't wait to give another visit.

THE FOOD ----------------…read more+ STU Burger - Burger was cooked an absolutely perfect medium! Burger wasn't huge, but was super juicy, fresh right off of the grill and the Stu sauce was a great addition to it. + Big Al' shroom BOOM Burger - Same comments as above, but with mushrooms, onions and truffle sauce smotherrrred all over it. + Stupendous Cheesesteak - EXCELLENT cheesesteak. The bread was soft and the steak was tender and tasty. The cheese melted perfectly on it. + Cheese Fries - Very good baked cheese fries. These aren't your typical gooey cheese fries, but instead oven baked with probably sliced cheese melted on top. I prefer the "gooier" version, but it was still good. Our family shared this and still had some left over! + Strawberry Milkshake - Spot on as authentic as it gets. Creamy, smooth, no artificial flavor what so ever. + Menu consists of multiple burgers, flatbreads, salads, sandwiches, appetizer and sides, but DEFINITELY go get one of the burgers! THE SERVICE ------------------- + PHENEMONAL service from the lone employee working the floor. The woman was very friendly, kind and made sure we had everything we needed multiple times. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- = The restaurant isn't huge, but does have 3 tables for 4, 3 tables for 2 and multiple counter seats. = No private parking lot, but there are street parking spots right outside. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Were the 1st customers on a late Sunday morning at 11 AM and we were pretty much the only diners during our entire time here. There were a few pickup orders, but it was fairly quiet. Don't let that deter you from coming by though!

After talking to Matt for 2 minutes you know that he's passionate about what he does and it certainly shows. He was willing to travel to Kingston NY for the event. They set up in the driveway, set up their tent and got down to the business of feeding 60 hungry people. Burgers, Hot Dogs, killer Chicken Nuggets, Onion Rings, Fries and Hot Pretzels- all served with the proper condiments and sauces. Everything was fresh, delicious and well received. At the end they cooked off enough food to feed 60 people all over again! We noshed all night and still had plenty of leftovers. I've eaten at the restaurant and it was very good but their handling of this party was over the top! I wouldn't hesitate to call in this squad again for any event that needs great food and hospitality.

Eighty Twenty 32 Westwood Ave…read more Westwood, NJ 07675 The Smasher Onion Rings What once started as a pop up has now revolutionized into a full scale burger restaurant. The smasher: This signature menu item has all beef patty with a 80% to 20% beef-to-fat ratio, hence the restaurant name. It was topped with caramelized Vidalia onions, American cheese, and topped with their homemade Mandy sauce. The quality and taste was more than superior. I especially enjoyed the Mandy sauce which is a savory combination of ketchup, mayo, honey mustard and barbecue sauce. (The combination of all these sauces may seem overzealous, but it was actually a perfect concoction.) The minor drawback is that the size of the burger is on the smaller side, which accounts for its cost effective price. Onion Rings: These gigantic beer-bartered rings were piping hot and crispy on the outside while soft and oniony on the inside. A cup of Mandy sauce is also included. Ironically, the cost of the side actually is slightly more than the burger itself. All menu items are sold à la carte. There is an up charge if you request any additional specialty sauces with your meal. However, complimentary ketchup, horse radish sauce, hot sauce and many other condiments are complimentary. If you do not wish to buy any beverages, a free water cooler is available. Everything is freshly made to order so expect a wait, but it is definitely worth it. For the most part, this was a positive dining experience and I am happy to see a local pop-up transform into a permanent restaurant. #eightytwenty #smasher #eightytwentywestwood #mandysauce
