5 stars for the burgers. Always…read more 3 stars for the fries. To me they are just OK and typically too well done. I also don't prefer fries with the skin still on. What really is a drag is the noisiness of this place. Industrial, metallic, whatever you want to call it, it's friggin' loud in here! Perhaps turning down the music several notches would help. The aluminum chairs (painted to look like wood) screech across the slate floor like nails on a chalkboard. I haven't been here since before covid. Back then I was always happy with the burgers even if I thought they were pricey. Today I got the cheeseburger (which is a double patty), whatever they call the smallest order of fries, and whatever they call a small soda. It was $17.78. Don't get me wrong - I will certainly pay premium prices for a premium product. The problem is that Five Guys may ultimately price themselves right out of existence. Worse, to keep prices down they could start using cheaper ingredients. In any event, this burger, fries, and a drink were $5 more than my meal the other night at Red Lobster. And there I had a real meal with cheesy biscuits, a real baked potato, shrimp, and a side salad. $12.95. Five Guys.. just watch out.. this is Berks County and you know how notoriously cheap people can be around here.

The amount of ingredients put on a sandwich is ridiculous. They put maybe 8 small (smaller than…read morebite sized) meatballs on a foot long sub. We also got a foot long chicken teriyaki and they put about 4 -5 small pieces of chicken on each 6 inch. I also asked for extra sauces and did not get what I asked for. The ingredients have definitely gotten much less than they used to use on a sub. You could definitely taste more bread then ingredients. Needless to say I will think two or three times about going to subway for a sandwich next time.

If you like Five Guys, you will like Wayback Burgers... to an extent. It's Five Guys' little…read morebrother. I like Wayback because customizations go beyond adding mainstays like lettuce, tomato, and onion. It still boggles my mind that all the fast food giants still nickel and dime you for those three basic toppings. So yeah, props to the casual burger chains that still offer these up for free. And like Five Guys, you can add "premium" toppings like jalapenos, grilled onions, and mushrooms at no additional charge as well. In addition to burgers and fries, Wayback serves up chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, and fried cheese curds. I was also impressed by the interior. It's pretty sleek with this sort of retro, wood-panel aesthetic to it. Wayback Burgers fits snuggly between, let's say the Burger Kings of the world and the boutique joints like Five Guys and Shake Shack. The only thing holding it back is quality and consistency. I remember my burger patties being dry to the point of breaking down and crumbling. This probably has to do with the fact that the patties seemed noticeably... small? Like 3 oz., tops. Maybe I'm imagining it but that's sure what it felt like. Getting a double here is basically a must.

I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated at this Dairy Queen Grill & Chill…read more I ordered two ice creams, and when my card was swiped, the transaction was declined. I had thousands of dollars available in my account, so I don't know why the card was declined. I understand that sometimes card transactions can have technical issues. What really upset me was the way the manager handled the situation. Instead of politely asking me if I had another form of payment, he rudely told me to come inside because he had a "long line." In reality, there was only one car behind me. Because of his rude and disrespectful attitude, I felt the need to show him my available balance on my account to make it clear that the declined transaction had nothing to do with me not having enough money. I should never have been put in a position where I felt I had to prove that. I do want to recognize A.T., the young lady who took my order. She was kind, respectful, and professional, and she even apologized for the way her manager behaved. I truly appreciated her kindness and the way she handled the situation. This experience also made me think: What if I didn't have another card with me? What if this happened to someone who genuinely didn't have enough money in their account? No customer should be made to feel embarrassed or humiliated because a card transaction was declined. A manager should know how to handle situations like this professionally and respectfully. A simple, "I'm sorry, your card didn't go through. Do you have another form of payment?" would have been enough. Customers deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their financial situation. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and recognizes A.T. for her excellent customer service while addressing the manager's behavior.
