DISNEYLAND RIDE #4: Mr. Toad's Wild Ride Jolly Ol' Mr. Toad's Wild Ride! This was one of the rides that I went on during my first visit to Disneyland when I was a kid. I remember being the driver while my dad was the passenger and me being terrified of the fake train coming towards us halfway through the ride. Let's just say I wanted off Mr. Toad's Wild Ride back then. The wait time for this ride without the Lightning Lane Pass was about 15ish minutes. In the line outside, we got to catch a glimpse of the inside where everyone was boarding the ride. Now that I'm much older, I don't mind riding the rides that were scary to me when I was a kid. And yes, I was the driver again while my LTP was the passenger. Everything about this ride returned to my memory during, including the fake train when I was too young to remember that it was actually fake. It's a bit of a slow ride (but not that slow) but still very fun! Find this ride near the Mad Tea Party and the Mad Hatter store.

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride opened on July 17, 1955 and is located at the Fantasyland area of Disneyland. The ride is a two-person ride where you go through the different scenes of Mr. Toad including the countryside, courtroom, and jail. Similar to other rides at the park it's a slow moving ride on a track and spins around. It only lasts about two minutes and is good for kids but not as exciting for adults. I would only go if I had time to kill and it was a short wait.

The Baseline: For a theme park attraction, a quality experiences must be provided, the attraction must be fun and engaging, an immersive environment must be established, the queue line must be themed, and safety must be a top priority. Attraction: Disneyland is the only place you can ride this ride. It is an original 1955 opening ride and is a dark ride experience through the Wind and the Willows. Nostalgia alone gets the 5 star rating but it is a genuine fun Fantasyland dark ride that takes you through London without having the long wait for Peter Pan. Queue: Relatively fast queue and wait time that is well decorated rendition of Toad Hall. There are some nice photo opportunities but this is a queue that is worth it if you see a 20 minute or less wait time for it.

Loved the 1949 animated film it was based on, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad growing up! So we were excited to take our daughters who had no idea what it was lol! There are some aspects of the ride that can be scary for younger kids. I'm looking forward showing the movie to my eldest! SYOY! :-) *Song Credit: Voyage @iksonmusic

A must ride when other attractions are super backed up. The perfect filler ride when all the kids have gone back to their hotels for a nap. My son enjoyed the feeling of driving and taking the steering wheel. Lots to see in less than two minutes. I wouldn't consider it wild.

Always a fun ride. A true classic. Lines can get long but it always seems to move along quickly. Cast members are extremely kind and friendly. The experience is unbeatable. Loved as a young child and simply adore it now. Full five star experience.

This is one of my favorite rides in fantasyland! We always go during Star Wars Nite so we never get a line to ride the ride. The whole ride from beginning to end is so amazing! I just love the nostalgia feel to it! My kids love this ride as well!

This is said to be one of the scariest attractions in Fantasyland. It certainly was exciting and the sauna of hell at the end was relaxing in cool weather. Line moves quickly, much faster than ppl In the line. Highly recommend, especially when the line is not winding back and forth.

Located in Fantasyland. It's a fun ride to go on when all the other rides have long wait times. Wouldn't wait more than 15 minutes for it though. Lots of sharp turns. The story is a little dark so I'd be mindful bringing very small children.

This ride is a classic in Fantasy Land, and holds a lot of nostalgia since I rode it many times as a kiddo. I would definitely be mindful of really small children riding as eludes to hell, which made me scared as a little little. Definitely fun to ride if under a 25 minute wait, but I wouldn't wait 30+ minutes.

Even as an adult this is still a fun ride. The wait was 25 min according to the song, but it went faster.

We agreed to try the fish tacos in the Fiesta area of the park. Walking through the park on a late July evening offered visitors a bit of controlled chaos as the park was crowded but fun and lively. Daytime in Southern California on this scorching day was between 100 and 104 degrees, and as a result, many people waited until the temperature cooled a bit before visiting the park. This was evident in the many guests entering the park when we arrived at seven pm. The park is always fun and full of energy; at night, with all the multicolored lights on and bands playing live music in various areas, it is a hub of laughter and good times. Visitors could be seen dancing to a band performing Latin music, another playing classic rock hits, while others screamed as they rode the many thrill rides. The park is extremely well maintained and organized. Employees are very helpful and friendly, and they go out of their way to make each visitor's experience in the park a positive one. My family and I enjoy visiting this amusement park, and we will definitely be returning very soon.

Parking is $35 for the day, or $10 for the first two hours plus $5 for each additional hour. I appreciated that the parking structure is covered. One thing that surprised me was how warm and humid the indoor water park felt. The temperature is kept at 84 degrees, which makes sense for swimming but it was a little muggy and took some getting used to. There are several different play areas that help spread out the crowds. We spent most of our time in the toddler/young kids' section, which was perfect for little ones. The kids also had a great time in the outdoor play area. We rented a cabana for the day and thought it was well worth it, especially for larger groups since open seating can be difficult to find. Our cabana included bottled water in a mini fridge, a small locker, two lounge chairs, a dining table, a couch, towels, and thin curtains that could be closed for a little extra privacy (although they are somewhat see-through). Overall, we had a great experience. It's a fun destination for families year-round since the indoor water park stays warm regardless of the weather. We also played a round of mini golf outside, and the ropes course looked like a lot of fun for older kids and adults. We'd definitely come back.

LONG REVIEW AHEAD!…read more We took our daughter to Great Wolf Lodge for her 4th birthday, and it ended up being the perfect little getaway. We stayed one night, arriving Saturday morning and leaving Sunday around noon, and honestly, that was just the right amount of time. A quick tip before you book. I called instead of booking online so I could make sure every available discount was applied. If you're an educator (like me), military (active, retired, or veteran), first responder, nurse, medical provider, government employee, or fall under the Howling Heroes program, there's a discount. The savings were significant. Also, add the Wolf Pass when you book. It's cheaper than waiting until check-in, and we definitely got our money's worth. Now, check-in... whew. It felt like we were checking bags at the airport. Be prepared for a line. The water park opens at 10:00 a.m., but rooms officially aren't ready until 4:00 p.m. You can utilize the park while you wait for your room! We checked in around noon and got lucky. Our room was ready around 1:30, which was a pleasant surprise. I skipped the birthday package because, for us, it wasn't worth the cost. Instead, I ordered decorations from Amazon and decorated our room and the front door while my husband kept our daughter busy at the water park. Seeing her face when she walked in made it 100% worth it. The best way I can describe Great Wolf Lodge is this: it's like a mini Vegas for kids. There is always something happening. Download the app before you go because it makes planning your day much easier. Some activities were better than others. We weren't impressed with Meet the Pack or Story Time. It honestly gave low-budget Chuck E. Cheese character energy. We went once and that was enough. The water park, though? That's where the fun is. Our daughter spent most of her time in the kiddie area, where she could safely explore with us close by. The wave pool was another favorite. Every time you heard the howl, everyone knew the waves were about to start, and the excitement never got old. We also spent time at the outdoor pool, which was just as enjoyable. The Wolf Pass kept us busy. We played mini golf and bowling together, and we made sure to check off just about everything included. One thing to know about the Build-A-Bear experience. The pass covers only the bear. If your child wants clothes, accessories, or even the little carrying box, those are extra. The box alone was $2. We packed our own drinks and snacks, which saved us a little money. For dinner, we ordered the large Honey Pepperoni pizza, and it was actually really good. Before heading home Sunday morning, we grabbed Dunkin' Donuts downstairs, which made for an easy breakfast before the drive back. Overall, this was such a fun birthday trip. Our daughter had an absolute blast, and so did we. We'll definitely be back. One overnight stay was enough to do a lot without feeling rushed, and we left with a very happy four-year-old, which is all that really mattered.
