It was right next door to the hotel I was staying at. Was seated right away as it was only me. I was on a business phone call but told the girl my drink order. She came back and asked if I was ready to order. I told her I needed another min. I hung up my phone call and waited for her to come back. After making eye contact with another waiter, I thought he would tell her I was waiting. No chips or salad brought to me but the guy took them to other tables. I waited 15 minutes for my waitress, who never showed back at my table. It was already late and I just needed to eat something. So I went to the counter to order take out so I could eat in my room then go to bed. Once I ordered it took about another 15 minutes to get my food. It was hot, even with a 5 min walk back to the hotel. I got the quesabirria tacos with beans and rice on the side. When I got back to my room the tacos were sitting in the beans and made them super hard to grab as they stuck to the beans and rice and made it really messy. The consume was really flavorful. The tacos were packed with lots of meat. So much that out of the 3 tacos I could only eat 2 of them.,The food was great, but expect to order from the counter if you go to eat there.

My girlfriend and I visited Mr. Taquito around 12 pm for the first time and decided to do takeout. We were warmly greeted by a friendly staff member, which gave us a good first impression. We ordered two Birria rice plates ($36), birria-style fries ($16), two orders of consommé, and one order of elote ($9), totaling $72 after a $4 tip. Unfortunately, our experience went downhill from there. We waited about 40 minutes for our food, which wouldn't have been an issue if the food had been of good quality. However, when we got home and opened our order, everything was cold. It seemed like the food had been prepared early on but wasn't packaged and sent out until much later. One of the Birria rice plates was portioned correctly but was cold. The second plate was also cold and had significantly less birria in the tacos--only about a quarter of what was in the first plate. The birria-style fries were portioned nicely, but they were also undercooked and cold, indicating they had been sitting out for a while before being packaged. The consommé came in tiny cups, and to make matters worse, the cups were only half full. The only thing we enjoyed was the elote, but even that was overpriced at $9 for a very small cup. In the end, we barely touched the food, and most of it went to waste. Overall, I would rate this place two star due to the long wait time and poor food quality. The ambience is nice, but spending $72 on a meal that ends up mostly in the trash is unacceptable. I wouldn't mind waiting if the food were fresh and properly prepared, but based on this experience, I won't be returning to Mr. Taquito.

My first time trying this place, I was not impressed. The way the food is shown on instagram, is not the same in person. We ordered 6 tacos, 2 chalupas & nachos. I was excited to try the chalupa, only to be let down by the chicken & chipotle salsa. The chicken was very dry and it seemed as if they poured more salsa than anything else. It was extremely spicy to the point where I can't eat it. They remade my chalupa's to pastor since they ran out of chicken. My friends who ordered the tacos and nachos, mentioned how they were good but not great. 1/5. The service was good, our server was polite and attentive. I only wish they had a better way to know if you sit yourself down or get sat down by a host. You awkwardly just stand there until someone shows up to you. 4/5 As we got sat down, we noticed their A/C was possibly not working so they had a medium size unit inside. We instantly noticed a weird smell from the surroundings of our table. The lights went out mid of us eating and they went back on 30 min later. And the music was LOUD. 2/5. This place needs more upgrading from food to ambiance.

The food was good but not the 25-minute wait that we had. For clarification, there were less than 10 people in the in the building. The service was slow but very friendly. The ambiance on that day was cool. There was a saxophone player on this day (Sunday), which was cool and chill. Though I did not give a high score, I do see potential and am willing to go back in the future in hopes of improvement.

I came here after seeing it keep popping up on my instagram feed! I saw the menudo and it looked so good in the photos and I said man I have to try this place. Came in, they sat me. The waitress was super nice and super sweet! I ordered a Vampiro taco de Carne Asada and Menudo! Vampiro was so delicious! Cheesy and super favorable! Menudo was super tender and the broth was pretty amazing! I never take pictures but I decided to take one after I devoured the taco! Lol sorry I know but it was really good and I would recommend coming here!

We were excited to try this place as we watched the process of it being built. We came on a Sunday morning to try the breakfast molcajete. It was about 10:30 in the morning and there was just one person at the bar. We expected a restaurant style place but it's more of a taqueria. You have to order at the counter and they give you a number and bring your food to you. Unless you sit at the bar. That was a little disappointing but not a deal breaker. This is more of a taqueria with a full bar Our server/bartender was young and shy, when I asked her what their signature drink was she looked confused and said "well that's our drink menu". So I ordered a mangonada margarita and it was delicious. We placed our food order and waited. We ordered the breakfast molcajete and a bean and cheese burrito. The molcajete is good but can use some work. It is a little dry and needs more salsa and it was missing the green onion. The flavor though is on point! The tortillas were freshly made and so amazing!!! The bean and cheese burrito as basic as it sounds was delicious! The bartender brought us our tab before asking if we wanted anything else and we actually did want another drink. I ordered the "TNT Cadillac Margarita" if you frequent another nearby restaurant you'll know where this name came from. But it did not disappoint! So delicious and lived up to its name. We typically wait several months to visit a new establishment but it's so close to home and all the hype I've been seeing on instagram we thought we'd give it a try on a rainy Sunday morning. We will be back and try it for lunch or dinner and see how the vibe is for evening drinks so we aren't ruling it out as a regular place just yet. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food and good drinks then Mr. Taquito is your spot but if you're looking for good food, good drinks, and great service I'd wait a few more months until they work out the kinks. I can see this being a local Sunday morning football watching spot or a fight night spot. Definitely has a lot of potential and I'm here for it and excited to see its growth!

TNT margarita... that's all I drank before I felt it start to hit. Be pre-warned it's super strong.

Not bad! A solid 3 1/2 stars. They serve salsa and chips when they seat you. We ordered guacamole as an appetizer, a burrito and a Carnitas plate for dinner. The food had good flavor. The guacamole was fresh and tasty. To drink I chose the TNT margarita and my better half chose the jalapeño and cucumber margarita. The jalapeño and cucumber margarita was spicy yet refreshing but the TNT margarita will knock you on your butt! It has about a second delay when you take a sip before it punches you in the face. Super strong and all you can really taste is the tequila. They have nine TVs around the dining area, pretty good music. We went on a Friday night around 8 o'clock and it seemed to be very busy. Overall, not bad. Only a few areas that might need improvement. Maybe offer silverware and napkins as soon as we sit down. We had to get our own napkins from the counter and had to ask for silverware after our food had been served. Also, the rice and beans came out a little cold. I would eat there again.

The service was friendly and helpful. Nice people all around. Food was delicious. All day breakfast of that quality is a hard thing to find. The pork was a bit salty but with the verde sauce and home made tortillas it hit the spot. Nice bar and seating with a bit of a divider in case you want to dine separate from the bar patrons. TVs on the all would be a fun place to come after work for their taco Tuesday deal. We enjoyed our visit and will be again. Only complaint about the ambiance was the music was a bit loud but I am sure if we had asked they would have turned it down.

From the vibrant atmosphere to the mouthwatering flavors, dining at Mr. Taquito Mexican restaurant is an experience and family favorite .Every dish bursts with authentic taste and is impeccably presented. Ordered 4 taquitos, had to share the rest just to not waste food! Why is the cheese melted on to the taquitos like that?! Had to pull them apart from the cheese just to eat. Why are they so wet? They weren't even crunchy any more with all the juice in the plate. Yea never going back after this. What a disappointment.

Swamp cooler on a hot day. Blame tasting food. Half serve of salsa and chips. Never refilled. Had to ask for napkins. Probably a better babe than restaurant. This was the first time trying and place was 9 months new to opening

1 star right away. We came to try this place out. Said it closes at 10. We came in the kitchen staff yelled at us in Spanish. Front door says until 10. Online until 10 Instagram 10. First time in there heard a lot of it when it was under construction so had been wanting to try it. 1 star is for the guy taking my order and being attentive 2 second star is for food and beer food is good, beer they need for selection on tap. The restaurant has a good look to it, but when you come in you are kind of lost as in what to do, do you sit yourself? do you wait to be seated? I had to ask what to do and was told sit anywhere you like be right with you, ok did that and I was brought a menu and got offered what to drink, so again no bad service, but I don't think they have decided on what to do, make it a sit down or just let people come in and sit, either way could work I think what they need is another person taking orders and giving 100% service. The one person in there today was kind of running around but definitely doing his best! The restaurant seems a little out of order and possibly needs to be cleaned throughout the day, some of the tables were dirty and saw napkins on the ground, things like that make you wonder what it's like in the kitchen. Anyways I might give it another try, but to the owners you spent all this time and money on this place don't let it fall out. read more

Loved the decor, bar and TVs. Menudo took a long time. Ordered 4 bowls, they all came out at different times. None of us finished bc the poop smell (not thoroughly cleaned tripe) was not appetizing. Menudo was thick and flavorless. Female bartender was not friendly. read more

I was very hopeful and excited to try this restaurant but I won't be returning. When I walked in it was very nice, we were greeted by a gentleman and the young lady offered us to sit anywhere we'd like. She brought over our menus right away and asked us for our drinks and gave us some tortilla chips and salsa. I love spice and I was excited but sadly the salsa was very watery so I ordered a bean dip, the bean dip was very watery too and flavorless. The chips were hard and burnt but I was still hopeful and ordered a fit bowl with chicken, lettuce, rice and beans and "avocado sauce". The rice didn't have much flavor and tasted reheated with no color. The lettuce was very watery and the sauce didn't have much spice or kick to it. The ambience was nice though and the music was nice too! I loved the colors and frames on the walls. read more

Food and customer service were both great. our server was new and kinda messed up the order but with giving her grace since it was her 2nd day, we were met with outstanding service. This place is all hype. The food is bland and flavorless. My food came out cold. The michelada I got wasn't good. The service sucks, don't bother sitting down for dine in service they won't attend to you. They brought out a basket of chips that looks like they threw a small handful and called it full. They never refilled it for the guacamole even after acknowledging it was empty. The restaurant seems to have an identity crisis between being a taqueria and a full service restaurant. We should have done the taqueria side instead. I would have been able to refill my drinks instead of never being offered more water. read more

I ordered food from here yesterday on the phone at around 5 pm and they said it would be done in 10 mins I show up and the place is closed. Great food, it's really too bad they have decided to abandon any attempt to manage the place like a real restaurant with service. Experience here was great for the first few weeks, but has been steadily going down hill since then. We had hopes that this would be a great option for regular visits but we made our last one for a while. Tips for the owners; Figure out how to hire and retain enough staff. Update the menus to match what you post on SM accounts. Avoid running out of something as simple as chips. read more

Went there for dinner with a couple of buddies. The salsa with the chips was too thin and lacked flavor. We all had burritos, two surf&turf and a shrimp ranchero. There was no flavor in the burritos. Beans, rice, meat were all bland. Two of the three didn't get finished. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing, but if a taqueria can't do burritos...probably a good place to get drinks if you're staying in the hotel or have an aversion to seasonings. Service is terrible. We got seated ordered our food and drinks. We received our food & even finished our food and when we asked if our drinks had been made the waiter responded "the bartender is backed up with drinks" Afterwards we saw the bartender leave the bar area and stepped out. We cancelled everything and left. Second time here and still keep receiving bad service The location and inside looks pretty cool but the service is terrible. read more

This place is a solid 10/10 the food is phenomenal and the service is awesome! The atmosphere and all the TVs around the restaurant make it my next football Sunday spot! Tried this out today for lunch. The place was busy, they only have 1 server so she is too busy to take care of everyone and never checked in us after dropping off the food. For some reason they only give you spoons so we had to ask for a fork and napkins. The rice and beans were so bland and had absolutely no flavor and could have at least had salt. My friend ordered green enchiladas and spit it out after taking one bite, she said the chicken was full of fat and it was a gross texture. Way overpriced for such bad food. read more

First time coming to this place. Ordered a couple street tacos with pork. Pork was OK. Slightly warm definitely not hot dressing for the street. Tacos was sparse at best. The salsa if you want to call it that for your chips was very watery. had good flavor, but would not stay on the cold chips that actually felt like they had been refrigerated before I got them. Staff seems to not understand whether they're doing table service and what to do if they are doing table service had to ask for a straw then had to ask for napkins after my meal had been served. Location is good.. Restaurant has potential but has a lot of work to be done. Being just another Mexican restaurant in Modesto. They need to find a hook.. something that will make people want to come out to this location to eat their food and help them make a profit. I only hope that they are not depending on drive-by traffic because they're the last restaurant on Dale before you head out of town and truth be told by the time you see the restaurant it's too late. read more

While entering the building the worker looks so sad and upset that a party of 9 came in No welcome was there. Once we were ready to order we didn't get any suggestions when. Asked and one of the person in our party was wanting to order something they said they don't have after that she said 2 different items such as chile realno wet burrito and one more thing they said they don't have that rightnow. Really upset with this location thinking this will be better than their ceres. read more

I've been coming to Mr. Taquito since they opened their first location! The owners are super friendly and always make me feel like I'm at home! This new location has an amazing ambiance, and everyone is super friendly. My go to is always the Chili Relleno 'Don Style' because I am vegetarian! when I first went to the Ceres location, I knew that with God's help, eventually these lovely folks at Mr. taquito would open up another one. And here they are with a better than never brand-new Mr. Taquito Cocina & Cantina. This place is really beautiful, with every employee at 100% good satisfaction customer service!:) and now they have a full bar with even high end cocktails to try??:) and tv's for games, oh ya bud!:) I fully recommend you guys trying it. Came here Saturday evening for dinner with my girlfriend and we were blown away with the ambience and service! I had the birria fries and she had the carne asada fries. Delicious! Service is great. It is hard to find good vegetarian options in town but they have a wonderful chile relleno burrito that I will go back for. They seem to have a full bar with seating and good tequila options like my favorite ArteNom 1146 in the back bar, so will have to come back to try their cocktails. read more
