I had them do yearly servicing on the boiler for the last three years and then had them repair it in February - March 2026 when there was a problem with very low heat. The problem was not correctly addressed. At no time did they check to determine that most of the water had drained out of the boiler. They said I needed a new aquastat and replaced it but set it to 200 degrees (about 40 degrees higher than needed). When I had a technician from a company that knows how to service boilers look at it, the inside was very dirty (had not been getting regular cleaning, although I had paid for maintenance each fall). He discovered that the water had drained out, that it needed flushing, and has repaired the boiler.

I can't say enough positive things about this company!! In this day and age of poor customer…read moreservice, this company shines. We had someone else install our HVAC system 4 years ago, and we've had nothing but trouble with it ever since. The tech that installed it never calls us back when we need service. This summer, our A/C broke down 4 times and we couldn't find anyone reliable or knowledgeable to fix it, including the tech that originally installed it. Thank God our neighbor's recommended we call Murray's. The entire staff there has been super friendly, professional and knowledgeable and they do what they say they're going to do like show up when promised. Mike Hajjar was our service technician. He is EXCEPTIONAL. I wish I could steal him away for our own business...he's THAT good. He showed up on time, was friendly, and took the time to thoroughly investigate what our issues were. He didn't quit, get frustrated, and was patient. My husband couldn't be there and instead poor Mike got stuck with me who knew little about our system or the issues we'd been having (I just knew the darn A/C didn't work and it was 87 in the house!). He was fantastic. He explained everything to me and even put up with my non-stop barking pug, Mason. He wouldn't quit until he found what the problem was. It wasn't the A/C after all. It was the fan to the furnace! He had to clean a big mess where water had gotten in, a decaying dead mouse, and a lot of dust. He seemed to enjoy solving the mystery and didn't stop until he figured it out and then stayed to make sure it was working properly after. He wouldn't even take any money to buy himself some lunch as a "thank you." I was completely blown away by him. What a wonderful service technician!! We plan to use Murray's from now on and refer anyone we know to them as well. When you don't have heat or A/C, you can't wait a week to get a call back or an apt. They were prompt, thorough, honest and REASONABLY priced too. They knock it out of the ballpark in all regards. Dan, the Owner, I hope you do right by this young man because he's a gem. Thank you also for having such wonderful staff and such a great company. I wish you continued success. And so far so good with our issue!!!

First Cooney is no longer Cooney. They were bought out by John Betlem Heating & Cooling based out of Rochester. They are still going by Cooney locally when you call the local number, which in my opinion is false advertising. You only find out that you're dealing with Betlem when they try to sell you a yearly maintenance service plan. With that said, here's what happened. Last Tuesday I woke up to no heat on my 2nd floor. I called Cooney for a service call. After leaving a message, I get a return call about 2 hrs later. The Betlem rep tells me that they can't service me until Monday, a week later. I said again, "I have no heat". They replied sorry, that's the best that we can do unless you buy the "yearly maintenance plan" and then we can schedule you sooner. I asked them to send me the information so I can review it. After reviewing I called back, spoke with a different rep ready to purchase the " $184 plan" and asked, now that I'm buying the plan when will you be out. There reply was, next Monday. What a scam. The old Cooney was first rate. When I had emergency issues in the past they were at my house within several hours or by days end. The way that it should be in an emergency situation. Luckily, I'm knowledgeable about a lot of things and after 2 days of "troubleshooting" I figured out the issue by myself. I will be looking for a new company who can meet my needs. I warn everyone out there. Do not do business with Cooney/Betlem. The old Cooney was a small local business who built a great business on customer satisfaction and great work performed with pride. Betlem is a large business not geared to personal service and they just don't give it $hit. All they care about is making money.
