I hired Angelo Chiodo to check my air conditioning unit today. I had a young technician named Makyah come to check over the outside & indoor unit. He was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions, was very respectable & informed me to keep track on replacing my filters on my calendar. It definitely made sense for my filter was way to clogged to be doing it's work like it should. It now is on my calendar every 3 months to remind me. I have never been disappointed in having Angelo Chiodo for many years. When I called the clerk on the phone was quick to set up my appointment also. If you have a boiler furnace, do NOT hire Angelo Chiodo to do any work on it. They do not appear to have expertise with boilers. I had them do yearly servicing on the boiler for the last three years and then had them repair it in February - March 2026 when there was a problem with very low heat. The problem was not correctly addressed. At no time did they check to determine that most of the water had drained out of the boiler. They said I needed a new aquastat and replaced it but set it to 200 degrees (about 40 degrees higher than needed). When I had a technician from a company that knows how to service boilers look at it, the inside was very dirty (had not been getting regular cleaning, although I had paid for maintenance each fall). He discovered that the water had drained out, that it needed flushing, and has repaired the boiler. read more

I have been dealing with them for over 20 years. They are on time and their work is excellent. They just cleaned two furnaces and the work was done with some comments about the future need of a 22 year old furnace, but no pressure to replace this year. Back in May their employee notice a serious problem, something I would not have noticed and could have severely injured me, apparently there had been an arc. We purchased a Rinnai wall mounted boiler from Chiodo that was installed Jan 3, 2023. Since then I've needed their technicians to come repair it on 12/11/2024, 12/31/2024, 1/2/2025, and have had technicians from other HVAC companies (Isaac and Holbrook) come out to attempt get it working on 12/5/2024, 1/16/2025, 6/6/2025. Today (1/27/2026) we woke up to no heat once again. There are no repair companies in the area besides Chiodo (who don't seem to be able to get it working) willing to work on this unit and, based on the eror code, the the control board has failed so all I can do is replace it with a new boiler after only 3 years...would not recommend. read more

He was very patient in explaining my options and I felt he was very knowledgeable.. Angelo Chiodo installed a tankless water heater at my residence & the work was top notch. Jon,Craig & Ron ‍are true professionals treating my home as their own. They installed the new tankless water heater and took the old unit away in one day. They cleaned up as if they where never there. This is our 5 star rating to David and to Chiodo - we came back home today, the Sunday after Christmas, from vacation, tired & exhausted from our redeye flights (airlines cancellations due to staff shortages, etc., that's whole other story), and found our furnace stopped working! We called more than five 24/7 furnace service companies, everyone sounded so nice but came back with, "unfortunately, we do not have anyone available to send out today..., we are so sorry...we know you do not have heat...". until we called Chiodo, we could not believe when Chiodo said "we are sending a technician over right away...". Last Sunday in the middle of one of Syracuse, NY longest heat waves our central air conditioning system seized up and ceased functioning. Pretty soon, it was 86 degrees inside our home. I broke out a few fans and tried to bear with it / toughing it out until Monday morning. In the mean time, I searched the local internet for heating / air conditioning folks. After having bad luck several years ago in the middle of the Winter with our furnace and two other companies [one based in Rochester], I recalled a few friends mentioning Chiodo Heating & Air. I called at 8:00 AM and left a message with their staff receptionist and within two hours received a call back from Jon Lorini / Supervisor & Estimator. I explained the issue and he was at my house [one one of the hottest days of the year] within 40 minutes. Jon looked over the system and we trouble/shot the issues. I suggested a new air conditioner unit and he totally agreed since it was 24 years old. He NEVER tried to sell me up or give me a sales pitch at all... When we went into the basement, I told him I was going to have my 43 year old furnace replaced in the Fall. I made my own decision and asked him to price out a total price for furnace & central air system. I have truly checked with several other competitors and the pricing was EASILY $1700 - $2200.00 more than the price Job quoted me for a brand new Carrier system. Jon NEVER tried to sell me add on's or accessories...PERIOD. Jon was simply concerned that my issue be taken care of as quickly and efficiently as possible. Jon made two quick phone calls and moved three jobs around and told me he had just freed up two installers to do my install the very next day. The following day @ 8:00 AM Chiodo's Truck pulled in and the installers worked very quickly and only took 2 / 15 minute breaks on a 95 degree day...[remember, inside my home it was still 85-87 degrees]. The two installers continued working diligently until the job was completed at 5:00 PM. When the men left... the job was properly completed.... and the complete mess was gone. It truly looked like no one had ever even been at my home. The system works flawlessly and the Carrier equipment installed was correct for my home. I look forward to many years of trouble free heating & air conditioning. P.S. I actually received four follow-up phone calls from Jon later the first night and three the following day since it was 96 degrees and muggy and Jon didn't want us to have any issues or concerns. We hired them to install an air conditioning unit, they gave us a competitive price and did a great job installing the air conditioner and hooking it up to our exiting furnace. However these men are not craftsmen and apparently don't install where there are finished basements very often. They ran the wire to the thermostat through to the back side of the wall inside the closet instead of inside the wall. There was an exiting thermostat there they could have used the existing wires to path the new wires. They drilled a hole from the closet floor down through the finished ceiling below and even commented that he thought he hit our LOAD BEARING beam, which makes me nervous. We now have a wire exposed in our closet and along the ceiling in our finished basement. Like I said, they did a great job installing the actual air conditioner but not with wiring through the walls/floors. We may need to hire an electrician to fix their work. These were seasoned techs as well, not young men. I would suggest sending a survey to your clients after the work is complete so you have an idea of how they did and level of satisfaction. read more

First of all, VERY happy with everything. Trustworthy, reliable, knowledgeable, and FAST. Our 20 year old furnace stopped working in the middle of the night in the month of December. Our house was SO cold. I knew who to call immediately...Angelo Chiodo. We had a great experience with them on an air conditioner install a couple years ago. Kyle the technician came over within a couple hours to access the situation. After he ran through a couple of tests he figured out that the circuit board was fried. Kyle mentioned that we could possibly replace the circuit board or have a new furnace installed. After a quick discussion with my wife, it was decided to have a new furnace installed because the old furnace would have to be replaced sooner rather than later. Kyle drew up the bill for diagnosing and got Jon one of Chiodo's Comfort Advisers on the phone to discuss options and to set up an estimate. Jon was there the same day! After going through some options and based on some recommendations from Jon, we decided which furnace to have installed. I let Jon know about how cold it was in the house and if he had any tips on how to warm up my house! Without skipping a beat...he mentioned that he would drop off a space heater later that evening! Talk about hospitality! Only one full day went by before our furnace was installed. I was impressed. The installers showed up ON time and ready to get to WORK! Paul, one of the installers, was the one who installed my air conditioning unit a couple years before! Glad to see Chiodo treats their employees well.
