My wife and I had dinner at Mr. Pepper's last night. The owner greeted everyone at the door, introduced himself and thanked us for coming. We ordered margaritas and were quickly served chips, salsa and queso. The queso was good and the salsa was very bland, almost tomato sauce. At this point I was thinking this was just another Mexican restaurant with toned down spices just for gringos. I told the waitress and she brought me salsa picante that was more to my liking. I ordered carnitas and My wife pollo San Luis. When our food arrived, I soon realized that I had been completely wrong about this restaurant. My carnitas were delicious chunks of pork cooked with onions and peppers served with jalapenos, guacamole salad, rice and refried beans..absolutely delicious. The pollo was maybe even better. Grilled chicken with jalapeno peppers, bell peppers, mushrooms and squash in a wonderful cheese sauce. I love Mexican food and I'll definitely be back. Can't wait to try other items on the menu. read more
