I am taiwanese and I have to say this was delicious. There is someone actually making noodles in the back. Service was quick and very nice and upbeat. My server was Kelly and she was great- I ate in and took what I didnt finish to-go and she even separated my noodles from the broth! The mango green tea was also fantastic. Thank you!

Our server, Sophia, was bubbly and friendly, giving suggestions and helping with the ordering process for the other person who wasn't as sure what they wanted. We eventually went with two appetizers and two entrees, which was more than enough food, and honestly, we could have only ordered one appetizer. The better of the two appetizers was the CAD 8.95 Hand Shredded Pepper Chicken/手撕椒麻雞/Shou Si Ji. The dish consists of cold chicken in a flavorful sauce, topped with some greens. The chicken was tender, with a mild, pleasant spice and a bit of numbingness from the Sichuan peppercorns, along with some fragrance, presumably from sesame oil. It reminded me a bit of salivating chicken you find in some Szechuan spots, but it was more aromatic and a bit less spicy. The other appetizer was the Steamed Edamame/岩鹽毛豆 with Himalayan pink salt for CAD 5.95. The other person chose between this and the vegetable dumplings, as he avoids pork, and it was, of course, lighter than the other appetizer. The decent portion of edamame was topped with some pickled carrots as a garnish. My main dish was the Braised Beef Noodles/紅燒牛肉面/Hong Shao Niu Rou Mian. The dish included several options, including size, noodle style, and spice level. I chose the large for CAD $20.95, medium spice, and for the noodle style, I chose flat/宽面, as it was closest to the prism style I like at Lanzhou spots in the States. Along with these, I also added a tea egg for an extra CAD 2.95. Outside the add-on, the dish also had a couple of large slices of radish. Compared to some spots in NYC, I slightly preferred the QQ/bouncy texture of the noodles at a spot near me. However, the broth was better here with a balanced amount of mala, though I would likely order spicy next time, as I tend to add chili oil to the relatively lighter Lanzhou broths. The beef was also much better, being tender with a mild chew regardless of whether it was tendon or other cuts. The tea egg was flavorful and worth the add-on, especially when the inside was dipped further into the broth. I can see why others order this. The other person went with the Signature Stir-fried Noodles/招牌炒面/Chao Tatiaozi. There was an option of protein, and he went with Chicken for $17.95 and added the same egg. I tried a bit, and there was a pleasant pepperiness with a bit of numbing flavor, but less than my dish. The noodles had a good bounciness and overall had a slightly better chewiness than mine. This was lighter overall, but also tasty. This spot has apparently come to the US already at the Mall of America, and I would love it if there were a location closer to me. Good place.

I was surprised to see the place really haven't changed much at all. The interior design was exactly the same and honestly the prices haven't changed much either. They now also serve rice noodles. Initially I wanted to get their beef ramen soup and an appetizer because I wanted something clean and light. But we had a chat with a granny and her granddaughter on the next table and they highly recommended a few dishes. So we just went with whatever she recommended. When the food came, we realized everything was oily and spicy lol. We ordered the Beef Stir Fried Hand Pulled Noodles for $14.99, Pork Kidney with Chili sauce for $5.99 and their Sliced Pork with chili oil for $3.99. Everything wasn't as spicy as we thought and was very delicious. The noodles had a nice chew and there were plenty of beef slices. As for the appetizers, I definitely prefer the sliced pork over the kidneys. It was just more flavorful and had a tang to it. I would definitely come back here whenever I want Lanzhou Ramen in downtown. It will always have a place in my heart.

There is nothing spicy about the food here despite it being a Sichuan restaurant. For the "ant crawling up the tree" noodle dish, what they gave doesn't even remotely match what a traditional "ant crawling up the tree" dish would look like. It doesn't even resemble the picture on their menu. Not resembling the traditional version is ok if it tastes great, but not in this case. I get that this restaurant is in Missisauga instead of Markham/Richmond Hill or even downtown Toronto Chinatown, but the quality is way too far off.

We haven't been able to visit for the past few years then decided to visit again for the sake of nostalgia. The whole menu changed so much that we didn't recognize 90% of them. I was able to find pictures of old menu from Google and showed to the server as I could not find our favorite dishes in the new menu. Luckily, they weren't on the menu but all available to make upon request! The taste didn't change much. I love the sauteed pork with pepper and chili was still so amazing. Spiced dry lettuce root was a bit too oily and needed more salt but still tasted good. Spicy beef noodle was also really nice as well but felt like the spices were bit heavier than years ago. Still pretty good and portion size was huge. They didn't change too much of the space as the overall layout and dining area remained unchanged. Service was great as well. I'm glad that this place is still serving the old menu and will definitely return. I always crave their spicy noodle bowl in the winter!

We came by around 12:00 and luckily it wasn't too busy. The restaurant has limited seating so it's better to come with a party of 2-4 for optimal seating. We ordered the Vegetable Stir-Fried Noodles ($17) and Cold Sesame Noodles ($15) to share. Both were vegan friendly which made it perfect for our diet, and both dishes were fabulous. The stir-fry dish was just the right amount of spicy with tender vegetables that left a good numbing sensation in our mouthes. The sesame noodles were great and the perfect contrast with the spicy hot noodles. The noodles were devoured in no time and we left feeling vert satisfied. Hand-pulled noodles are the future and need to be available more often.

Upon walking in, we were promptly seated by the hostess. We were given menus and shortly thereafter, our order was taken. I opted for the Cold Noodles with Sesame Sauce. This was the perfect dish. The noodle texture was bouncy and chewy. The Sesame Sauce was peanut based. There was also a second sauce at play at the bottom of the dish that mixed very well with the peanut sauce. There was also sliced picked carrots and cucumbers that added some crunch to the dish. The whole thing was just perfection, and I'm so glad I ordered it! To accompany my meal I also got their Passion Fruit non-caffeinated drink. This was a great compliment to the saltiness of the meal and provided some balance. It was served in a HUGE glass. I only got around to drinking about a sixth of it- so just know you get a lot of drink for your money. They also serve carafes of lemon water at the table, so you can stay hydrated as soon as you sit down. My guess is that most of the dishes are hot and spicy, so you'll probably need some extra water to quench your thirst. The space itself is small. It's long and narrow. But, when we went around dinner time, there were still plenty of spots. The price was excellent. For my husband and I to get two entrees and two drinks, it ran us about $34 USD- not bad for such a great deal- oh, and the portion was HUGE. Give Mogouyan Hand-Pulled Noodles a try- it's an all-around gem!

They were quite busy with takeout orders which I took as a good sign. We ordered the Beef Sirloin Noodles level spicy and numb(4/5), Breaded Shrimp (5/5) Seafood Fried Rice (4/5) and Lamb Skewers (4/5). Beef Sirloin Noodles were delicious. The broth itself was not overly salty compared to other places we've been to. I enjoyed the addition of peanuts to this dish for that extra crunchy texture and nutty taste. The noodles were cooked perfectly. They were bouncy and chewy. The beef itself was good. Some were a tad bit chewy. I wish there was more bok choy. We'd also opt for extra spicy and extra numb next time. Breaded Shrimp was enjoyable. You can't go wrong with this dish. It was crispy, and the batter to shrimp ratio was decent. Seafood Fried Rice was good as well. Again, we liked how it wasn't overly salty. We were able to sense the taste of the seafood. I wish they added more scallops since we only got two pieces in the whole dish. Lamb Skewers were satisfying flavour-wise. We really liked the seasoning on them. It was on the chewier side but it was manageable. We'd like to try their other skewer options next time. Overall, such a good spot for affordable and delicious food. I'm glad my family recommended this place. I'd like to point out that a customer was being problematically entitled and rude yet the female server stayed professional. I thought she handled the situation quite calmly which I wanna commend her for. P.S. The restaurant has a sign on their door saying not to bring pets inside. So please read this and try not to bring your pet inside to avoid looking entitled and rude.
