Scam shop, please watch out and avoid at all costs. Hard selling services that are just not required, in my case a rear differential oil change after 11km on a one year old sealed unit that manufacturer says does not need changing or 10 years. Would not take no for an answer. So instead charged $75 for oil flush and oil conditioner that were never added and refused to print the invoice so I would not see it. Emailed it for my discovery later. $400 oil change and regret every penny. Zero confidence the job was done properly. This was one of the worst service experiences I've had and will be my last visit to this location. I came in for a premium oil change and filter, and was met with a series of questionable upsell recommendations, with an attempted bill close to $400. When I declined the unnecessary add-ons, basic checks weren't even completed (no lights, emergency brake, side lights, or tire pressure check). The manager was not available on site, and it felt like staff were encouraged to upsell aggressively without proper oversight or customer care. Scammers. Stay away. Went for an oil change and left with a $700 bill. First they harassed me about reviewing all the documents on the vehicle. I had to ask them multiple times to just change the damn oil. Then they told me there was metal fragments in my transmission oil and my differential oil. Excuse me, but if this was the case, I would have much bigger problem than a fluid change is going to fix. I told them not to change it and they said they were already started and they had to continue. When I got back, I asked for a sample of the old oil. First they gave me a sample that was completely clean, and clearly didn't require a change. Then they gave me a second sample with dirt thrown in it. See photos. How the hell would there be dirt fragments in perfectly clean oil if they hadn't planted it there. Unbelievable. Even more disgusting, I went into their bathroom only to find one of their young employees pleasuring nimself In the sink. I had to wait for him to finish, which took a surprisingly long time. I went there on Dec 27 with a simple job to do, plug a tire that had a leak. This place is unbelievable and the biggest rip off I have ever seen. The tire person told me that the hole was too big to repair and that the tire was ruined. He then gave me an invoice for two of the same tires for $533 each $1233 all in installed, balance etc. He stated that buying one tire is not good and that I should at least buy 2 for safety reasons. I was shocked so I took the tire across the street to KalTire who were quite busy and they looked at it and said the the tire has 9 tenth tread left and is fine to repair and charged me 50$ for the work. In addition, in case it couldn't be repaired and I asked them to give me a price for two of the same tires and they were estimated $350 each $867 for the two installed not $ 1233. 2024 October 16 "You're Fired ........" After being a loyal customer for 30 years, it's all over for me on oil changes/lubes for my vehicle with this crappy, greedy outfit. Unprofessional, late to open, over-priced, don't follow instructions, over-selling bs constantly, over-charging on invoice, (1 month for refund,) speak english (but only marginally), incompetent staff. $330.00 for an oil change/lube. Really? I mean REALLY? (Last time in it was $105.00.) First customer of the day, but one hour and 15 minutes for a simple oil change. Mr Lube seems to be a franchise program, and yes, we arbitrarily chose one that was convenient to our exiting the ferry and on the way to Hope, just off Hwy 1, in North Vancouver. Upon arriving, some of the technicians were a bit unsure of my request, needing a more specialized oil(20/50). A few minutes passed, and Junald arrived with a big smile, saying, "Castrol GTX 20/50 ok?" Then I opened the engine compartment and his eyes opened widely, a Subaru engine in a Vanagon! They were all quite surprised. Junald seemed to want to be extra specific with all of the necessary processes. The man in the pit, Khalid, was most courteous, and wanted me to know he was doing a good job! All in all, a very good experience, because of, primarily, these 2 technicians. Absolutely stay away from this "shop." I'm a "car guy" and against my better judgement I went to this establishment for a simple oil change. I had an upcoming long drive planned the following day and my default shop was not available. This visit was a complete nightmare which I will highlight below. The problems I experienced here are nothing short of unbelievable. The tech performing the service on the "top side" firstly overfilled the oil. When I stated the motor it was struggling to stay on (something the car has never experienced in 200k kms of driving). I immediately knew something was not right and told the tech. He assured me "everything is fine the car is just cold and this is normal after an ok change." Thankfully I knew better and asked to speak to another tech. After some discussion they clearly realized their mistake of an overfill and said "we're going to drain the oil and see if we can fix this." Since I had lost all confidence at this point, I got out of the vehicle to watch the underside work by crouching down. I'm glad I did because the bottom side tech had improperly installed the oil filter and it was leaking...at this point I got the manager involved. Once again the work was restarted and redone. Whilst this was all happening the original tech was checking my tire air pressures and managed to completely break my valve stem resulting in the tire to complete deflate while in their bay. They then worked for over an hour to try and lift my vehicle up so the tire could be removed and stem repaired. After a complete gong show of lifting various points (including lifting a 5000 lb truck by the brake rotor), the tire was removed. The truck has air suspension so in doing this because they didn't lock the air bags, my entire air suspension now is not in balance. This was confirmed by their manager who stated the tech did not do it correctly. Valve stem was repaired by they didn't have the right tpms sensor or programming tool. So since that day I have now had a TPMS error they told me to return in a couple weeks to address this but needless to say I was never going to go back here. The final insult was they stripped my belly pan bolts so now the oil pan cover is in plan but all of the bolts are cross threaded. If I didnt know anything about cars, I would have experienced a catastrophic oil leak on my drive to the interior the next day (with two young children and my spouse). This would have certainly blown the motor. Exactly what has happened to several others that have work done at this shop and don't know better. This is completely unacceptable and I can't believe this shop is still in service. The techs working here are either completely not trained or simply don't care. In speaking with them , my feeling is they are not qualified in any ways to be doing the most basic of car services. I won't even get into the well known scam of these drive in fluid change locations which try to force those who don't know better to do "diff oil flushes, transmission fluid flushes , etc). They drained all sorts of these areas on my car and tried to upsell me on these services which I did not want, nor did I need. read more

Bad experience. Agreed to oil, transmission, diff fluid changes. Oil level not available (electronic moniter) and took 2 further visits to have correct oil amount installed. On one of these visits, they suggested to take for a drive... oil pan cover not secured and ground on pavement. No offer to replace... only to secure it with zip ties!!!! In the end $900 for 3 visits and not sure all fluids needed to be changed. Better to pay the same and take your car to a real mechanic! read more

Mr. Lube guy tried to convince me that I needed his windscreen wipers because my car had a 'special curve' in the windscreen. Seriously, does anyone believe this? Another $ racket in Vancouver. I have gone to Mr. Lube a while back and they wanted over $200 to reolace 4 spark plugs (normally a $100 job at a reputable place). The service was terrible after my oil change, the manger promised me they would replace my drip cover at the south Surrey KG location. I found out that they didn't secure it correctly after driving on the highway and it was scraping along the road. When I called to complain and went to the store in person the manger repeatedly told me they would contact me to replace the drip cover. They always upcharge you for things you don't actually need. They also charged me for an air filter but didn't have it in stock so I would have to come back the next day as they "ordered" it. 4 trips back and they still didn't have the right one. just had a very unpleasant experience at this location. I have been going to this location for a few years but never again my wife was there at the same time in her vehicle. Both for basic oil changes. Price for her 4Runner was $175 (including synthetic oil and a filter). mine was $90 for regular oil we had multiple requests for upsells of differential fluid, rear end etc. This is fine but I've noticed I get the same speil every time I show up the real kicker was something else. I have a 1996 Miata with a brand new paint job. The guys (because one had no clue what he was doing) were leaning all over the fenders - grease and stains everywher. I had to ask one guy twice to stop leaning on the pop up headlight because it would bend (which it did). He then proceeded to bring his buddy over as they had no idea where the oil filter was and once they located it they couldn't get it off for 5 - 10 minutes (I've done this change myself and it takes 2 minutes. once this was done I watched him take the oil funnel out and spread oil all over the engine and on the side of the fender, without thinking twice. he then proceede to ask me if it was a front wheel drive and whether or not I needed to change my rear end oil - to which I declined He then advised me that my quote did not include tax etc (probably fine) but that I had the privilege of forking over $90 for that experience I have completed 100s of oil changed (my fathet owned a service station and that is how I put myself through school back when they did light mechanic work etc). These guys were very unimpressive and had little basic knowledge beyond the bare minimum mechanic knowledge- not really an issue but it exaserbated the abilsmal customer service we had the oil changes done for convenienice - a bit of a treat that I could have done myself but wanted to avoid the hassle, clean up and time. however, the experience left me with a sick feeling of being ripped off. I cannot recall the last price for an oil changes here but I know it was considerably lower not 1-2 years ago I am pretty sure I will never return and will be doing my own oil changes going forward or looking for somewhere else that knows what customer service really means one long term customer lost! read more

They were rude and threw my air filter onto my engine to say its disgusting and that I needed a new one, I don't. I went in for an oil and filter change about a month and a half ago and got up sold on a ton of extras I didn't need or ask for. My final bill was $1500 which included $500 in parts/labor that were not installed because they had to be ordered in. It was a nightmare trying to get my money back for parts and services I didnt receive or even want in the first place. They even told me I needed to take down my negative review before they would give me the money back for parts I hadn't received. My wife took her car here for the last time. Thank God she finally told me what goes on in this dump. These thieves have changed her transmission fluid on each of her last visits. She was trusting enough to take this guy at his word that this was necessary, but won't do so again. On top of that, the guy further took time to insult both her car itself, and her wedding ring, saying he had bought one much better for his fiancé (which is as insulting as it is unlikely.) In October 2020, this shop put on my mounted snow tires into my Ford Fusion. No issues. today same shop was to pull off the mounted snows and reinstall my mounted summers. an hour after I got there, they're still playing on My car. Twenty minutes should have done it ....but no. I'm told the lug nuts are the wrong ones and won't fit. They wanted to sell me new ones at 3 bucks a shot, But they don't have enough new ones in stock. I'm to leave the car as it's unsafe to drive. Reluctantly I paid the $90 bill and drove away with a few less lug nuts on the car and went to a tire shop. The threads has been crossed threaded. Some that were on weren't on square or tight. Omg... At integra tire, I had buy a complete fresh set of lugs at this tire store and I'm out in 20 minutes. All for 90 bucks again. DO NOT USE MR LUBE. Staff was friendly. I took the X5 there and it cost $150 to get the oil and filter changed. They said it was because they had to use synthetic oil and special filter. Who knows!! Terrible lack of knowledge. Do not go there. I went to rate install my winter tires (on rim), they charged way more than other places and on top of that they didn't know how to activate the tire pressure monitor system. After half hour I got the car manual and looked by myself how to do it; I explained to the guy the tool he needed, he ignored at first until other guy told him I was right. He brought the tool but didn't know how to used, I patiently explained again and he put in one tire and told me go and drive an it will get fixed by itself... Total ripoff and manager would not return my calls. 2010 Dodge RAM with Cummins motor and I was charged $331.78 for what they call the "premium synthetic diesel package". This package should include a filter, but I was billed an additional $50.00 for a filter that I have been charged $9.62 in the past at another shop that does some mechanical work. That shop typically charges me about $110.00 plus taxes. The Mr. Lube "package" includes them checking all sorts of other items, like battery (I have 2), coolant, PS fluid, air filter, etc. Only the tire pressure, lights and washer fluid top up were completed. 3 of 17 items on their list, one of which was to inspect the windshield. They said it "appears OK, yet it has a crack at the bottom that goes almost from one edge to the other. They obviously did not look. I have heard many other stories of customers getting over charged at Mr. Lube. I will no longer take any of my vehicles to Mr. Lube. Over charged, under serviced and no customer support to "make things right". Total joke - Beware! read more
