I called to confirm my appointment and the customer service said "Bring it in at the time we told you." wow, ok. Their report had two major errors, which they did not address adequately or with sufficient justification when I talked to them over the phone. hmmm. Worse, they tried to salvage a part from my car. ok...we're done. I have never had such terrible experience. Writing a false report, salvaging my car parts, and very rude customer service. Don't be fooled just because they give your car a wash and a vacuum or by them leaving a response to this comment saying "We're sorry for your experience...etc etc etc." I would be extremely cautious before having any work done by this autobody, and I would get a second opinion on all prices including labor. read more

I wish I didn't have to give this rating, but my latest experience leaves me no choice. Took our SUV in for collision repairs. The quality of their work was excellent, except they seem to have little to no expertise when it comes to Parking Sensors. They replaced a damaged sensor but now none of the sensors work properly. Took to the dealership and they weren't able to help either. Clearly there's a GAP with the collision companies and the technology in modern vehicles Unfortunately they lost my business over this issue. read more

I was looking to purchase a vehicle and made an appointment with Sue at Taylormotive for a pre-purchase vehicle inspection (I paid for the inspection of the vehicle). It is a small 2 seater car with a convertible top. They did the inspection and mentioned one item of note. So I thought great - all is good. So I went ahead with the purchase. Unfortunately, when I took the car to my own mechanic, they commented on two additional things. Both of which were not as obvious to me as a person who hasn't bought a car (let alone a convertible) in many, many years but should surely have been picked up by an experienced car/body shop mechanic. The headlights had condensation in them and the roof would likely need to be replaced. I knew the roof had some wear and some stitching was loose but I thought it could be repaired. Apparently not. I really feel let down by their "inspection services" and would not recommend them to friends. UPDATE: October 23, 2018 Well, as an update to my situation, posting this review on other review sites certainly got the attention of the owner (unlike my direct e-mail of a week prior). Unfortunately, the outcome was not what I was expecting. We discussed the replacement of my roof and I told him that I had already arranged for it at a local company (at a cost of $2,000). He offered to call the roof company to see what could be done about the price I would be paying. He did call them but as they had already given me a 10% discount, they weren't able to give any additional discounts (fair enough). The owner of Taylormotive in turn told me that he would refund the cost of the inspection and that he had already given the amount of $132.16 to the roof company towards the cost of the roof. I had expected Taylormotive to step up to the plate to make a more substantial offer given their obvious admission that an error was made, but that was not to be. I would have re-thought my original offer for the car had I known that this would be an issue and the cost associated with fixing it. As it stands, I am not happy with Taylormotive's offer and would not recommend this company for a vehicle inspection. I would have offered a lower price for the car had this shown up on the inspection report. UPDATE: November 6, 2018 - I have an appointment for a re-inspection by my mechanic and we'll see what the results of this re-inspection are. read more

I went in to Taylormotive 5 years ago with a scratched bumper, other shops quoted me $800, Taylormotive took it into the shop and worked on it for 30 minutes. They showed me a perfectly smooth bumper and said that was the best they could do without replacing the bumper. They did this for no charge! It was perfect and still is. When my husband was involved in an accident I sent him to Taylormotive. Quick paperwork, brand new vehicle to use and friendly service, had our car back within 5 days, 3 days faster than booked for. The repair was excellent and the service flawless including a hand signed thank you card ( not a computer generated survey). I came in to Taylormotive with an unusual problem. I tow 17 feet 1800 lbs camper trailer with a small SUV, and the hitch has started tilting down. Happening to be in Vancouver after a traveling across the country. I found Taylormotive on an ICBC list of recommended repair shop + recommendation by a car dealer I also consulted about this problem. These were great advice, and I felt very lucky I ended up at Taylormotive. Both M. Taylor and the mechanics took great care in figuring out the problem. Likeliest explanation: the hitch ball (while unhooked to the trailer) was probably hit at some point without my knowledge and this cracked the car's frame. Following that the tongue weight of the trailer gradually opened up the crack, tearing the frame up. They gave me great advice, professional and friendly service, and further referred me to West Coast Alignment for repair, this being a major frame job, needing a frame specialist. And they charged me a very small amount for the estimation. read more

When it comes to customer service, Taylormotive is truly the leader. We were in Horseshoe Bay up from the States when we heard a loud noise emanating from our Yukon. We thought it might have been a wheel bearing that needed to be replaced. It ended up being much more than that; it was a transfer case. We called around to many shops on Monday, April 2 - having to leave for home Thursday morning, April 5. We were surprised to find out that Taylormotive was willing to take a look at our vehicle on Tuesday morning. After diagnosing the problem, the staff quickly found a rebuilt transfer case, replaced our defective one and had us on the road again by late Wednesday afternoon. Our trip back home to Utah was a quiet one. However, when we arrived home, parked our vehicle and came out the next day, there was a huge puddle of oil under our vehicle. We didn't know what the cause was. I emailed Taylormotive and attached a photo of the leak. The next day, Chuck, the CEO, phoned me. Granted, I had a 90-day warranty on the work that was done, but I was now 1,400 kilometers away in another country. Chuck could have turned me away instantly, saying that something must have happened on the way back of which he was not responsible whatsoever. However, he recommended I take the vehicle to my mechanic, have him look over the situation, and call him personally. My mechanic did so, and found the transfer case had not been tightened. He called Chuck and told him what he found. Chuck asked my mechanic to fix the problem and to let him know how much it cost. Chuck paid my mechanic for the parts and labor - no questions asked. Yes, we were inconvenienced by the leak and the subsequent time it took to repair, but Chuck and Taylormotive backed their work. I'm convinced they went above and beyond what any other garage would have done. That's why I say they are the leader in customer service. I'd recommend them to anyone. read more

They apologized for what transpired and offered to reimburse us for the diagnostic time and my outlay for the dealer part that I installed that solved the problem. I took them up on the offer and am in receipt of a check just now. This is the first time I've seen a business make an effort to make good a negative review. They had the guts to make a difficult phone call and back it up with a make good offer that removes some earlier bad feelings. I think they should be upfront with their quotes and just say what will be done and how much. I will go back because I like to support local family businesses. We bring it in for specific fixes, but we appreciate the suggestions they make for any preventative maintenance work that needs to be done. Taylor automotive staff seem courteous enough, and efficient BUT they are very expensive. They were originally part of a dealership that closed down years ago.
