So when the bunny's car had issues and needed some diagnosis and loving, she had trepidations, and I puffed up to help out and run interference (even though my hardware experience is centered around something many nanometers smaller than an oil dipstick). Neither of us needn't have worried. The staff at Ital Motors were reassuring on the phone, honored our Groupon, saw us the same day as the check engine light turned on, gave us advice and recommendations about not only the issue at hand but helpfully triaged the next needed repairs on the bunny's car. No pressure, no frisson of of sleazy, just well-communicated car love. Highly recommended.

After close inspection by myself and another mechanic we both found independently that they had spilled oil while filling the engine and no leaks found. True, but I can't change my oil myself. I'm not car equipped, and the other day the check engine light came on my dashboard. Before panicking and sending my car to the mechanic I checked, and saw I was well overdue for an oil change. Wanting to get my oil change done quickly (it was a Friday afternoon and I knew I wouldn't be able to book an appointment somewhere with a mechanic until Monday) I came to Jiffy Lube. There are two Jiffy Lubes in Leduc, one in Leduc Common and this one on Sparrow Drive. I came here and got in right away. The girl working was nice, and I appreciate that she didn't try to upsell me on different packages. I've been to some drive-thru oil change places (and non-drive thru places) where they will try to get you to buy a more expensive oil change, or they'll say "you need your air filter replaced because it's too dirty" when it really isn't. She showed me the air filter, and said "you should be good until next time." I appreciate there wasn't a spiel about me needing to buy a new filter. It was fast and friendly. The free wifi was a really nice touch as well. The downside to Jiffy Lube is that it is pricey $75 for an oil change. If you collect airmiles they take that so you can get a few airmiles. If my check engine light hadn't come on then I probably would have booked my oil change somewhere cheaper, but the job got done and I had a relatively painless and stress-free experience.

Prices have almost tripled in the last 6 months, and sometimes I've seen people waiting 15 minutes before someone even greets them. They order wrong parts or forget to order them complete then lie when questioned about the ETA, passing the blame off. But there's never a shortage of alcohol and cigarettes in the break room, or random alcoholics spouting racist jokes off. One journeyman technician on site out of the 3 that pull wrenches.

It was a challenging few days having my muffler break off in the middle of road, having it towed to the first shop and then a day later having to tow it again to Action Muffler. I contacted Manny and his staff this morning, the tow truck got there around 2 and at 4:30 it was all done and ready to be picked up. I was very impressed with how efficient and kind they were. The price was very fair and Manny even gave me a discount knowing I already had to pay for 2 tows. I got a year warranty on the work and was told to bring it right back anytime for free if I was having more issues. I would have no hesitation to bring any future work to Manny or to refer all my family and friends. It is such a good feeling, after a hectic few days, to leave a place feeling respected and so well taken care of.

Since we were from Spokane, WA., and needed to get home, this was impractical. The next day we went to visit Mike Schmidt at 17108 107 Ave., and he said they would review the tire situation. Costco had already replaced the regular tire with the spare donut. This they did, and in a few hours, had it fixed "to industry standards" and we were on our way back to Spokane. No problems since. I had an appointment for 8 a.m. to get my tires swapped over. Everyone else, literally at least 10 people had an 8 a.m. appointment to. I managed to luckily be the first in line. After waiting 45 minutes, I was told "We can't put your winter tires on". I've never heard of such a thing. They said one was a dot 2010 and so I needed 3 new tires. I asked them to show me the law that said you had to replace your tires. They could not...because there is NO SUCH THING! They made this up in order to sell me tires. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE SCAM ARTISTS AGAIN! One day, someone will sue them for bait and switch which is a Anti Trust law violation and making up laws that don't exist. Don't waste your time here. I went to a small independant garage the same day, had my tires switched over (they aren't on rims") for $90 and they were done in 40 minutes. Go to NBS Auto on 1533 70th Ave. These guys were really busy and still got me in and out in 40 minutes! I would bet they sell twice as many tires without lying to customers in a day than trail does in a month!
