Which means they couldnt of checked my cars tire pressure! or they let air out of the tire to punish me for not buying the extras! I used to come to this location for an oil change and for other circumstances haven't been back in 3 years but remembered it was a good place and the mechanics were great and friendly. I don't know what changed but I went May 6th and will NEVER EVER be back. As I remembered, I was greeted offering coffee, water and a paper. Waited 30 mins to get into the bay, shut my engine off, got the general questions, he told me to move my truck forward so started it up and moved forward, there was yelling under me asking the mechanic "WTH!" I was asked to move the truck back once the mechanics exchanged words. Then was asked to move forward to the bay ahead. They got working on my oil change, I was encouraged to do a flush after showing my oil stick, fine - I agreed, then showed my air filter and cabin filter, agreed they need to be exchanged. Later when I got home I find a white clip on my floor mat that he did not put back after changing out the cabin filter great, I will have to figure out where that was. Another mechanic comes up and tells me I need my diffs done and stressed I need to do the rear one first. I'm looking at the computer I'm already over $340.00, I refused but he tried me again, I gave him a look and advised I can't this trip. Then the other mechanic comes back and says "see this is what Ford does, you need a new drain plug". I looked at the plug and knowing that this is a new plug from the Ford Dealer a couple of months ago due to some mechanical work, it still was in good shape and the seal ring was still good. He told me again I need a new plug. I told him I have never heard of having to replace the plug for a simple oil change, he told me it was necessary. I said "So your telling me I need to replace the plug at every oil change?" He said Yes, it 's necessary. Again, I gave him one of my disgusted looks and told him that did not make any sense to me...I was actually thinking what if they decided to not screw it in all the way or mess with something because I refused. I don't know, so I went with the plug. He said he was going to check the air in my tires, I just got them changed to summer three weeks ago so knew they were fine, and my gauge also showed balanced, but whatever let him see they are fine....nope he comes back and says I had to let some air out because they had too much. I can't turn my engine on at this point to see what the "H" he is talking about, when I left I checked my gauge and this "monkey" doesn't seem to be able to read a tire gauge as they were all different reads!! Now, I have to go and get air in my tires and balance again, I am so mad at myself for allowing this and the $373 bill! I will never recommend Mr. Lube. Kathy read more

MR LUBE 130th Location "I would first of all like to say all of the tech's were very funny, welcoming and professional to be around during my multiple visits to this location! I have absolutely nothing negative to say about them. The shop itself was always clean and well organized." BUT... the final time I had used this location for service I went in for a standard oil change (no leaks before I entered the shop) but left with an oil leak beginning almost immediately. Long story short I had visited later in the day and they could not find the issue...then returned a few days later as the leak continued. This time the manager took a better look and found the leak in the engine bay....the discussion then went back and forth with "they couldn't of done anything wrong" but could not give me a straight answer as to why I had zero oil leaks entering the shop and then one fairly decent one 20 minutes later. Fast forward after calling corporate....SHE (corporate customer relations) was very nice and professional over the phone and said the only way the repair or issue could be covered is if a shop looked into the and could prove is was Mr. Lubes fault. Of course the manager of the 130th location Mr. Lube would recommend a shop that he uses all the time. (go figure) I decided to take it to a Dodge dealership and explain the entire story, they were not surprised with how this Mr. Lube location refused to admit their fault in the leak.....I mentioned to Dodge to please find the reason for the leak and to document it so that I could return to Mr Lube 130th and present them with hard facts.... Dodge found that the oil filter/housing was installed/sealed incorrectly causing the leak BY Mr. Lube. (Funny how the manager said over and over he reviewed the camera's and could see the tech having no issues and tightening everything to specifications....typical "defend your crew regardless of right or wrong) End result...Dodge fixed MR LUBES mistake and even cleaned out my engine bay of all excess oil....for FREE. They did not document how it was installed incorrectly on the paperwork as to not cause any "bad blood" with Mr Lube. I was thankful but also a little upset I could not bring back proof of Mr Lube's mistake to their Manager.....but understand a very professional move on Dodge's end. Dodge - Fantastic Mr. Lube customer relations - Fantastic Mr. Lube's 130th head Manager - Questionable Don't EVER give into any shop or business if you KNOW you are right. Being mechanically inclined did help out in this case. Fight till the end. You all have no idea how many times a day/week businesses will try and screw someone because most customers don't have the will or fight in them to bite back. I pulled into Mr. Lube last night on my way home. This Mr. Lube has 3 bays for their oil change service and 2 - 3 cars deep behind each bay. I was quickly greeted and offered a coffee/water and a news paper. "How long is the expected wait?" I asked. "About 45 minutes, Sir." I appreciated both the respect and the time estimation but I decided to go home and come back first thing in the morning (today). I arrived this morning at 7:55am, the third to arrive. Of the three bays available, both cars previous to me were lined up in front of the middle bay, #2. Not knowing if all three bays were going to be operational first thing in the morning, I did the same thing and parked behind the other cars. In a nut shell, last sentence first, the service was really quite goo. It really was. However, there's always room for improvement... At exactly 8am the middle bay door opened and they begin to usher in the first two cars. (note that these bays can accommodate two cars in row) The left bay door, #1, then opened. I actually wasn't sure if I should pull over to that bay or not as only the door opened. So I simply sat there and observed. Soon after, one of the staff went to back of the newly opened bay and stood there. Was he waiting for me? He just stood there & I just waited. He then leaned to the side and waived at me, as if to say, "Helloooooooo-ohhhh - over herrrre - I'm waitinggggggg" I gave the nod, backed up and pulled in. From that point forward, the service was very good. It could have been GREAT however. IF, when I was waiting in line, someone came up to my door and said, "excuse me sir but you're third in line and you don't need to be, we'll be running all three bays this morning so if you wouldn't mind, please back up and pull in front of bay #1 where we'll service your car right away." Is it a big deal? Did I feel slighted because I had to backup my car and drive an extra few feet? No, not at all. As I said, the service was exactly as I've experienced and expected - really good. However, the difference between Good and Great is the little things. In a world of mediocrity & average, set yourself apart from the rest by noticing the little things! I'll continue to got to this Mr. Lube location for my oil change and tire rotation. Polite and courteous staff who are fast and efficient because they're training and systemization. Much appreciated. I wouldn't recommend their coffee though... no more than I'd recommend a coffee shop to change my oil ;-) read more

This location is close to me so it's a regular stop for basic maintenance, it's a decently busy location is be prepared to wait a while, usually I find it's a 30-45 min wait so I plan something to do while I wait, either work (Shaw wifi hot spot) or bring a book to read. The techs I have found to be hit or miss, I have found some really great ones who I really like, they are friendly, helpful, clearly knowledgeable and provide excellent service and some techs who are pushy, don't seem that knowledgeable and don't make me feel as comfortable. Since their computers aren't connected I find I just keep going back so they have a consistent record of what work I have done to my vehicle. read more

He suggest to do the engine flush bcoz the oil was to black but this time I said no coz they always say that whenever I'm using their service. And he suggest another one treatment for my car that will cost me additional 60 bucks and I said no again. And maybe bcoz of that they didn't do those courtesy check and complimentary services for following car parts: 1. No Lights check 2. No Wiper blades check 3. No tire pressure check 4. No tire inspection check 5. No wash window complimentary service 6. No lubricate door hinges complimentary service I'm so upset last night and i decided not to get their service anymore. read more

TL;DR: It doesn't matter which location you visit, you're going to run into childish management, over-selling staff and a heaping pile of emails. Under-trained on the mechanic side, over-trained in the salesmanship end - you may as well rename this one "Mr. Dealership". Especially notable was the petty and childish supervisory staff, namely one in particular named "Colin". Having searched the closing and travel times and requiring only my 100km re-torque from a tire rotation (a service they maintain they provide at your convenience), I arrived at the location shortly before closing time. I put her in park, looked at the time on my iPhone and it said 7:57; the "open" sign was already turned off. When I walked in and asked in a friendly manner if they would please queue me, as I had planned and knew I would arrive on time (and did), his response was: "Nah, I turned off my sign like 10 minutes ago [it was currently 8:05, needless to say I was speechless] and I'm only allowed to do invoices from 8 until 8." "What about those other two cars in the bay that haven't entered yet?" I responded. "We have to provide invoices for them because they were here before eight." he clarified. A reasonable answer. "Okay that makes sense. I arrived before 8 as well and only require my 100km retorque and the technician set my tire pressure 5 PSI too high, I'm feeling it in all this rain."" "No, I turned off my sign." I sighed, said goodbye, and drove off from my last ever visit to the location, and likely any "Mr. Lube" franchises in general. Sure I've had the odd smooth encounter, but it was generally because I'd had a salesman that could take 'no' for an answer. In future I will either just make an appointment with my local dealership (who have the same prices and clearly more experienced staff), or find another lube shop that will give me straight answers, more competitive prices and hopefully a much better level of customer service. read more

The dreaded "oil change" light came on the other week so I figured should take it in. I have been going to Mr. Lube forever and have been to several locations. This one is quite large, accommodating 3 lanes of 2 cars (6 cars at one time). I showed up about 5pm on a Tuesday and all lanes were full. An employee quickly greeted me with a newspaper and an estimated wait of 30-45 minutes. I decided to wait and just read the paper that was provided. It was about 25 minutes before they got me in (I would rather prefer an overestimation vs. underestimation for wait time so was happy). The tech mentioned that he was new so asked for some patience while he worked through everything. He did a good job offering the usual stuff but one thing I don't like about getting oil changed is the pressure tactic on the up-selling (I think this goes for all oil change places). I usually feel like an uncaring parent that is neglecting my kid when declining the "recommendations" and can't help but feel that they are judging me haha. I was happy that the dude showed me my filter as it was super dirty (I have a K&N that can be cleaned instead of replaced). We have had the oil changed twice previously and neither person even checked the filter, which now that I think about it seems odd. I also had a headlight that was out so they offered to fix that too. Unfortunately after about 10 minutes of trying to figure it out I was given the terrible news that it is a xenon type light and would probably need to go to a dealer/mechanic and that the light is usually around $200 alone. Yaaaaay. At least they tried to help out! I was in there for about an hour which is abnormally long, it's usually quicker however they did take the extra time to look into the light etc. Overall I like Mr. Lube and will most likely return. 4/30 read more

Went here for an oil change and was told my oil pan was leaking, (a 5-600 repair) and needed to be repaired immediately. I took it to my mechanic and found out it was only the sending unit that was leaking, (25 part). Was not impressed they didn't even look for the source of the leak. Drew was very informative but also not too pushy with any products they had to promote which is refreshing from most other oil change places. He was still letting me know any other issues that came up and they were more than happy to bring me a paper and coffee. Even though it was quite busy their service is so above par that they had me in twenty minutes before the time they originally quoted. All around 10/10 will recommend. read more

I've always gone to Mr. Lube but never again. They are incredibly unhelpful, lied to me and wouldn't originally refund me all my money. Kal tire and tire craft were exceptionally helpful in doing Mr. Lube's work. Mr. Lube didn't put a spare on my car, Kal tire did it for free. Mr. Lube wouldn't honour a tire warranty or their labour costs. Tire craft honoured the tire warranty and labour costs even though I've never been a customer with tire craft. Mr. Lube tried to refund me only part of my price of a new tire. Going with Mr. Lube would have cost me over 250$ and going with tire craft cost me ZERO dollars. One visit to tire craft and they fixed my tire problem. I fought with Mr. Lube, went in 3 times and over 6 phone calls plus I had to call the manufacturer of my tire. Thanks for nothing Mr. Lube. Never going to a Mr. Lube ever again. Absolutely atrocious customer service. Avoid the headache and go somewhere else read more

BEWARE!!!!!!! Do not use this place!!!! They put dirty washer fluid in both mine and my husband's vehicle which then blew off both our sprayers. When brought to the managers attention he denied denied and denied more that this could be them. They have been the only one under both our hoods in the past few years and two weeks after being in their shop this occured in both our vehicles. The manager Wesley was extremely rude,unpleasant and very unprofessional to deal with he wouldn't own up to this at all! We have spent thousands of dollars at this shop over the years and to be treated like a liar not a loyal customer is a real piss off! Nothing like calling a loyal customer a liar to their face. Let's just say this will be the last time I will ever use Mr. Lube! After customer service got in contact with me they basically sluffed it off as well saying they used a fresh jug of washer fluid while the shop told me glad out they used their premixed fluid that they mix themselves in a dirty mechanic shop that is more than likely to get debris in it. And yet we are still dealing with this issue. After my husband got his spray fixed it clogged and blew another one! There is no way to clean out a washer fluid container in the winter! So there goes another $100. Do yourself a favor and use a reputable company that stands behind their work and doesn't call their customers liars! read more

I got a razor blade in my tire and could only make it to Mr.Lube. I had my newborn baby with me. We pulled up and asked if they could switch out my tires. They told me they don't do tire service, I stated I only wanted my spare switched. They talked to the manager and came back saying it would be $50. First off, where is good karma? To help a mother out? 2nd, the manager was sooo incredibly rude and ignorant. I always get my oils changes at this location and NEVER AGAIN. I couldn't believe how hostile they were. Thankfully I remembered I had AMA and got it all figured it out for FREE. Couldn't believe not one person would offer to quickly change it for me! The AMA technician was also surprised I was in a Mr.Lube parking lot and no one offered to make the quick change. Awful service. It made me so upset especially with a crying baby in hand. read more

Wasn't impressed with this place. I got there and they told me I would have to wait 45 minutes to an hour which I thought was a little ridiculous because there was only like one car in front of me and they have 3 bays that fit 2 cars each. So I'm waiting in this line for the last bay the door comes up and the the vehicle in front of me pulls up to the front spot leaving one behind him. So I go ahead and start driving forward to go in also when they stop me half way in and tell me to get out because someone else needed to go in before me. Okay fine but couldn't you have told me before so I didn't have to embarrass myself? And why do you need to make me feel like I'm the idiot for your lack of communication? When I finally get in there they over pressurized my tires, didn't ask me what kind of oil I wanted and just put whatever in. How could an oil change place not ask me what kind of oil I want in my own vehicle? Came in with a flat tire nail lodged on my tire. and baby in the car. I don't need to explain how stressful it is to have a flat tire, and have an infant in the car!! They immediately took me and said they will do it right away. Didn't want to wait in the car so decided to walk with baby to Tim Horton's it was a nice day out.I was prepared that it may be a long wait, figured I grab a bite to eat while waiting: and make my baby comfortable,'half way through my meal; Got a call that my tires are done. Fast efficient service. Affordable rates. The auto mechanic who helped me I think his name is Ahad? Super friendly guy explained in detail, As well as Sean who ranged me up and explained what they did was super kind and friendly and efficient. I wanted to thank the Ahad who did my tires but he was already on the other side working on another car, so I approached him and thanked him for fixing my tires. I had $5 tip I wanted to give him Ahad refuse to take it. He kept saying "oh that's nothing, I didn't do much" but I insisted and I said for "coffee" overall I was impressed how fast they repaired my tire. They have great mechanics, super fast awesome and great customer service. I would definitely come back and recommend this place. read more

Your company is supposed to be a specialist in oil changes, but I end up with an oil leak? While it was true that after my 3rd trip to this location you tried to contact me, why would I want to deal with you after being lied to twice (i.e. poor customer service)? So I could be lied to again and again? Did you apologize, or admit to your mistake, NO. I fixed the problem myself and I do not want to deal with you, and I would strongly recommend that others do not take their vehicles to your location. read more

Location was 37th street and Bow Trail, SW Calgary. My daughter went to the staff and asked them to inspect her vehicle and fix anything that needed to be fixed. Mr. Lube was happy to produce a checklist of areas inspected and generated a bill of $400+ after suggesting that a few things needed repair. She went on a road trip following the car appointment, but her car NEVER MADE IT BACK. Apparently the engine seized from a lack of oil, even though it clearly wasn't burning oil. Mr. Lube's inspection indicates that they inspected the oil - did they not notice it was low? Or did they not screw the cap back on properly? Who knows? When asked for an explanation, the manager clearly didn't want to discuss it and rudely ended the call as quickly as possible. Two things that he did say, though. 1) Mr. Lube doesn't provides inspections. Really? If they don't why not say so? And why produce a checklist of things that they inspected? 2) Mr. Lube doesn't employ mechanics. Again, really? They don't exactly advertise that. Deal with these guys at your own risk. They are not to be trusted. read more

The whole attitude of Mr. Lube needs an adjustment. I sent my son in for an oil change with the family car. 5 hours later he is broken down in a parking lot with a broken radiator hose and mysterious no oil being recorded on the dip stick. Mr Lube denied that they forget the oil and also denied they broke the radiator hose. Apparently there is nothing they can do, possible damage to the car would have been cause by the radiator hose problem and they walked away from the whole ordeal. These guys should be put out of business. Oh ya they said they would mail me a refund cheque for the poor service....sure during the postal strike is another winner move by Mr. Lube....PS I had to pay for this poor service immediately. read more

Terrible unreliable service. Took my vette there for an oil change. had to wait 45 minutes beside (or in) my car before taken in (there is no waiting area). Asked tech if they reset the "oil change" light and was told they always do that. I informed the tech of the amount of oil it takes and was informed that this is on their computer. After oil was changed I observed the tech check the dipstick, then add more oil. I was amazed that they do not have an automatic system which injects the "preset" amount of oil. Rather, they pour the oil out of 4.4L jugs. When completed, I drove out then had to go back to get the "change oil" light reset as tech had forgot (as had I). This was done quickly though, but if this is part of the routine, tech should not have forgotten. I did notice that this is not on the invoice list of items that they sign off. Checked my oil level the next morning when the engine was cold only to discover that it was 1cm above the "max" full line. I phoned and was instructed to come back and they would correct this. Went back and was told that I would have to again wait until all the other cars which were there before me, were serviced, even though this was their error and should only take a couple of minutes to correct. I was informed that this would be another 45 min wait. I will never go back - If they can not even put the proper amount of oil in an engine I can not trust them with my cars. read more

I went in for a oil change the other day and my experience was not what it should be. I know this location is very high volume and there is always a good chance you'll have to wait. When I first got there, I was told it would be about 45 minutes to get in. I ended up waiting an hour....no big deal to me at the time. Once I got in everything was going well until I noticed the 2 tech's we running around looking for something. Right away I knew they couldn't find my filter. I just sat and watched. A man ended up coming out of the office and took off out the door and jumped into a car........I knew he was going to get me a filter. About 10 minutes later he came back, in through a different door, gave my tech the filter. Next thing I know the tech was taking the filter into the office.......Yep, wrong size....Did I mention no one had come to tell me they didn't have my filter yet? The guy in the office then took off again to get another one. Not until after that did a tech come up to say it was going to be another 10-15 minutes before they could finish because they didn't have my filter in stock. I ended up being their 2 hours and 15 minutes to have my oil change. Because I wasn't happy I filled out the satisfaction survey and because it didn't let me add comments, I went online and sent in a email. I did get a call back, with them apologizing and excuses for them not letting me know what was going on that day....... but that's it. the excuses I got didn't jive with the excuses I got that day. I will never go back as I have noticed that you can get oil changes at least 20 dollars cheaper than Mr. Lube else where. I'm happy they acknowledged my email and survey, but there wasn't much effort to make up for the lack of communication or the time I wasted. read more

This is for ALL Mr Lubes as I have had service at several Calgary locations, this particular one is closest to my home. The main reason I have used this business is convenience, I can pull up anytime without much wait or appointment and get my oil changed. The staff has always been friendly and efficient at every location, my gripe is with the business management and philosophy. I am there for an oil change NOT to be scammed! The high pressure oversell attempt of ridiculously priced dumb services has lost me as a customer! The last time I went I was told I needed a total of $1300 in services from an engine cleanse to something with my transmission (um, I think I'd go to my dealership with journeymen mechanics for this) and the service guy was even inside my car to pull out an interior filter that I was told needed replaced for the great deal of $100ish. I had to say "no, just an oil change" at least a dozen times. Do they target women or try this with men too? DONE! No more Mr Lube for me! read more

Ive been to this mr lube 2 times for my oil change 1 time was great! The second time however the technician told me I needed a new filter (which I had just gotten little to his knowledge a few days prior) and then he continued to tell me all the extras I needed since my vehicle was "soooo old and worn down" I have an 06 murano so yes older but has been babied and very well taken care of. I declined majority of the extras as my vehicle just got the yearly service package done at the dealership minus the oil change. I wasn't offered the coffee they usually offer and the tech was visiting with another employee for 10 minutes beside me talking about what they did the night before....then finally he finishes my service I pay him cash and then he does a quick schpeel n gives me the receipt. Then I had to ask to get my change. Now after I left I went to use my washer fluid and all this shiny stuff came out....I took it to another shop and the cap was missing to my washer fluid and it was full to the top with what else ? Oil!!! The when he checked my oil it was low and dirty....aka my oil was not changed. Thanks Mr Lube! read more

Sat in line for 20 minutes then decided to ask if they can do a tire rotation... they said yes... but it will be $39 plus additional $9 per tire for some reason, and then also additional $20 on top of because I have 19 inch wheels... basically I understood they did not want to deal with it and they were trying to change my mind... so with oil change and tire rotation this would have cost me $179 for my Acura RDX. Immediately said no and called my dealer And at the dealer the price was exactly 179 but that included full inspection and free car cleaning... Everyone in this place lookee Luke they were still in high school and looked like they did not really care... If you want to ruin your car might as well take it to Canadian Tire... Never again...lesson learned... and time wasted read more

After a lengthy 40 minute wait, it was finally my turn and the car ahead of me to pull in, as I turn on my car to follow the car ahead of me into the service bay, the ignorant kid working the line outside stops me and let's somebody from the next line over cut in front of me and then rudely directs me to get behind a car in the right lane still waiting to get. So I go from next up to be serviced to another lengthy 40 minutes wait in a separate line. Imagine the incredulous look on my face as I'm waiting an additional 40 minutes to get in and cars that have pulled in after us are being serviced and sent on their way! This was honestly the last straw for me and this location and honestly just Mr.Lube in general. Thanks for nothing and thankfully Calgary has Mobil 1 garages so I'll never have to endure such nonsense and ignorance ever again !!! read more

If I could rate this a zero I would...been here a quite a few times - because it is close to home and never really had any huge issues that they haven't been able to address after or at the time. But this time the service....WOW!!! After seeing them for an oil change recently, and go use our windshield washers this weekend...and could not figure out why it is not working, took vehicle into dealership - they advised us that it was frozen, and that the fluid used was summer grade washer fluid and would cost $300.00 to have them unthaw it for us or for us to contact the last service company that touched the vehicle as they should warranty the problem as they are all to be aware and know which product to be using and should not be summer grade @ the end of September. Called and spoke to them and was told to pretty much take a flying leap, and that it is our responsibility to ensure it doesn't freeze?????? Are you kidding me???? They use the wrong product, and then say we are to blame?? NEVER AGAIN WILL WE USE THIS COMPANY, and we will tell everyone we can not to go there as well at every possible chance we get...shady place not willing to correct their mistake!! read more

This happened in January 2012. I just found Yelp but this location is terrible. The service tech broke off a parts of the dip stick from being rough in my engine. It caused the oil pump to fail. After I left Mr. Lube I was on dearfoit and had to pull over as my engine was not circulating oil and it was minus 28 that night. I only had a wool suit on and I had to turn my engine off. Damage did occur to my lifters in my Audi. I took my car to a mechanic and they had to replace the oil pump. A $1200 cost. The management at Mr. Lube played games with me and did not take responsibility for almost seizing my engine. I then spoke to people at their head office for Western Canada. John is hid name and as he slurped his coffee on the phone he said to me that the customer satisfaction rate was at 75% at this location and there was nothing they are going to do. I took my vehicle to this place because at the time I was working long hours and it worked with my schedule. The leadership and the excuses to take advantage of the consumer is awful.
