First off, I had a small SURGERY the day before my scheduled appointment and wasn't supposed to carry any weight. Since my regular tires were in a rack in my garage, I thought it would be prudent to RESCHEDULE my appointment. When I called the shop, I was met with a very unprofessional individual who made me feel uncomfortable right from the start. I informed him of my MEDICAL condition and inquired about changing my appointment, but instead of a friendly response, he bluntly and almost indelicately informed me that the shop was fully booked for the week. I then asked about availability for the following week. He offered a slot on Monday, but Mondays are not convenient for me. As we tried to explore options for Tuesday and Wednesday, nothing seemed to fit my schedule. Throughout this short 2-minute call, his demeanor made it very clear that he was annoyed by my request and didn't seem to care about providing good SERVICE. He even sighed multiple times on the phone, making the interaction even more unpleasant. When I finally decided to go with the Monday slot, he demanded a $100 DEPOSIT. This was especially uncomfortable since I had been to the shop twice in the last year, once for an out-of-province inspection and once for regular maintenance on a newly purchased car. I wasn't a stranger to them, yet I felt like I was being treated as if I was a burden. Because of his attitude, I decided to figure out a way to get my tires down from the rack and keep my original appointment. I concluded the call by stating that he didn't need to change the appointment and that I would be coming in as originally SCHEDULED. With the help of my neighbor, I got my tires down and loaded them into my car. Upon arriving at the shop, I spoke with the RECEPTIONIST, who informed me there was no appointment for me. The man who had answered my call, now smiling, told me he had CANCELED my appointment because we couldn't find a suitable time for the following week. I had never, at any point, indicated that I wanted to cancel my appointment, and if that was his interpretation, he should have at least confirmed it. I felt DISRESPECTED and HUMILIATED. The man's SMILE and attitude communicated that he didn't care about my situation or my business. He gave the impression that, as he seemed to be the owner, he didn't need my business and wasn't there to serve. This wasn't the first unpleasant interaction I've had with him, but today was the final straw. I will NEVER go near this shop again. If you like to be treated with disdain and feel like you are asking for a favor rather than being served as a customer, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, I would look elsewhere for auto service.
