The work was satisfactory, but way overpriced. Unfortunately my regular mechanic was out of town, and I was in a pinch, so I decided to try them, as I live nearby. I paid $1132 (Inc tax) for rear brake pads/rotors, and a brake fluid flush. The following week, I took my other car in to my regular mechanic, and had my rear pads/rotors changed for $458 (Inc tax). They were not able to help with my on-board computer issues, but couldn't have been kinder about it. They worked on it for some time to resolve the issues, but did not charge me for their time and recommended another service centre who could help. A shop with that kind of integrity and generosity is tough to find. read more

My son was unable to take his road test as my car's brake light was out. I called Glen Auto and they were so helpful and accommodating. They went out of their way to have the light repaired that afternoon so my son could retake his road test. TL/DR Glen Meadows cost me two weeks of work and returned my vehicle in worse condition after charging me 2 grand for unnecessary repairs. Crooked, inept, dishonest and unreliable. Just couldn't have been more completely screwed over. I brought my work vehicle in because of an issue with a rough idle. Made it very clear that the vehicle was crucial for me to work (I walk dogs and can't use a rental vehicle for my job). Despite them knowing this, they returned the vehicle three days later to me with the admonition that it was running "marginally better," them having charged me $850 for a change of sparkplugs and some minor wiring repair. Let that number sink in for a second. Despite their claim of having improved my situation, the vehicle ran exactly the same if not worse than when I had handed it off to them. I promptly brought the vehicle back in the hopes that they might remedy the situation, as I'd now missed 4 days of work and still couldn't use the vehicle. Another three days passed. They re-programmed my van's computer and completely cleaned the engine. At last, they claimed, I had a "smooth running van." Oh, with the exception of the coolant leak that somehow sprung during their time working on the van. Yeah, no. Upon paying another $900 for the work, the van was instantly and very obviously in worse condition than when I dropped it off. The moment I started the van it was obvious that nothing they had done had made any change whatsoever to the engine. I was once again, out of work. At this point, I have missed almost two weeks of work due to the rampant ineptitude of the staff at Glen Meadows. I managed to receive a 50% refund today only after being made by Gord to promise not to seek legal action over the remainder (a different tune than last Thursday when Gord admitted I deserved a full refund). In Gord's opinion, I brought him a "piece of shit" vehicle (class act there, Gord) and shouldn't have expected it to get properly attended to. Through all this, Gord has been difficult, dishonest and accusatory, doing his best to deflect the blame despite it being very obvious that the staff took 100% the path of least resistance and put the least possible effort into returning a vehicle in good working order. Zero integrity, zero class. My only hope is that this review will serve to at least prevent a few more people from being taken through the wringer by these guys. Don't take my word for it though; Ask around to other mechanics in the area, and you'll quickly find out that these guys have a horrible reputation for over-priced, incompetent work, and for being dishonest. I was just at this location this morning for an oil change package. The price was fair but their 60 point inspection was crap. It said I was supposed to get a 60 point inspection yet on my invoice I only got a 40 pt inspection. They also stated that I needed some very expensive items I found out I did not need when I went to a certified mechanic straight after. Apparently I needed struts when I just had them replaced two years ago after an accident. They quoted me almost 1300 dollars when my mechanic quoted me only $850! That's almost a 400 dollar difference. They said I needed a gasket I did not need, a valve that I did not need and a coil that I did not need. Their entire quote came to almost $2300! Just for kicks I got this quoted with my mechanic and with everything that autoselect said I "needed", it only came out to $1427. I am always nervous to get work done on my car because I am a young woman and I am concerned I will get ripped off, and I was right. I will never, ever recommend this place to anyone for anything. I had high expectations for autoselect, and they failed miserably. I am sorry to have wasted my money and time with them, and I hope you don't either. read more

After many days of -25+ weather, my car decided it wasn't going to start... AMA was unable to boost as the battery had frozen. Clearly distraught, the AMA driver towed me to Glen Meadows Auto Service. My car was left there to be looked at the following morning. Next day I called first thing to let them know the situation and was told they'd check it out and call me back in about 15 mins. Got a call and a quote: $326.00 "all in" for parts and labour. So I say, ok go ahead. The next day when I went to pick up my car the bill was $460.00. I left, confused, glad to have my car, but confused. I returned to the shop for an explanation... all he could say was "I don't know why I quoted you that price". Hummm..that's weird. Was the extra charge because the battery was hiding somewhere in the depths of the engine that took two hours to find, or that I was a female, in distress and with no option but to say ok, please take advantage of me. I will never use this auto shop, I will sooner take my car to the creepy dudes at OK tire before even considering going back to Glen Meadows Auto Service. You get one star for being friendly I guess... you were very polite while taking $460.00 for a $260.00 job. read more

First, they never replied to my email I sent them asking for a quote. Then, took my car in for an oil change. They did not inform me on the phone that they were a "first come first serve" type of service. I was given the appointment time of 10am and so when I showed up I was told that there were 4 cars ahead of me. By 1:15pm my car had yet to be serviced, and I was then informed that the mechanics all go for an hour long lunch together and that no cars were serviced during that time (my car was finally on the hoist). Sue (the receptionist) estimated that the earliest my car would be available would be 2:30pm. Despite me informing them I had an afternoon appointment and them having provided me with a morning appointment time, they did absolutely nothing to accommodate me or apologize for the miscommunication. This was a mechanic that was recommended to me. Horrible customer service, waste of my time, and I ended up just leaving. Save your time and your sanity. read more

I took my Corolla in for diagnosis of a check engine light. I was told that my car needed a new EVAP carbon canister and a new gas cap - for an estimated $940.00. I paid $150 for this diagnosis. Then I started to call around and realized that this diagnosis is about the highest price that anybody charges - even more than a Toyota dealer. I should have done my homework BEFORE taking my car in. I took my car to another garage and they replaced the seal in the gas cap. Diagnosis and repair was about $60. So I will live and learn and never take my car back to this garage. read more
