Some charge crazy prices, some do shoddy work, and some don't even remember your name or your face. Then there's the Gigantelli brothers. Located right on 16th Ave, this quaint little auto shop is Calgary's best kept secret. I've had Joe and Tony work on my vehicle many times and man are they the epitome of honest and professional. I like the comment the AMA truck driver gave when I told him where I was bringing my car: "Oh yeah! Great guys! They're a dying breed. They really follow the motto that if you treat people right, they'll keep coming back." Amen brother! I've been constantly impressed by their incredible skills. Three different times, when other shops or mechanics couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car, Tony already had an idea of the problem, and sure enough, he was absolutely spot on. I know that when they fix my vehicle they do all their due diligence to make sure it is done right. My favourite part is that I'm not much of a car expert, but they're always happy to explain everything that happened and to give me some great advice. I always feel welcomed and valued there. I've even seen Joe offer a customer his own chair to a waiting customer. These guys treat me like family. They have the fairest prices I've personally experienced and they're sticklers for quality. Even when I've been stuck short notice or short on cash, they've always been super accommodating (more than I ever thought to expect from a mechanic). I recommend these fellows to everyone I meet, and often rave about the incredible way they always treat their customers. They are a class act and absolutely worth every penny. Usually mechanics have a bad reputation of being crooks, but these guys are proving the world wrong. Ten stars! :)

I was disappointed with the service I received from Concept-1 last month. I had to tow my Westfalia…read moreto them because of transmission problems. The assessment I got the next day was that the transmission had to be rebuilt or replaced. They didn't say directly but skirted around the fact that they didn't want to do the job and they didn't have any referrals of someone who would do the job. They essentially said that I should pull my vehicle from their shop, have it towed back to my house and start looking for a new mechanic. I found one who came to my house, took one quick look and said "There's no transmission fluid in here!" We went and got some tranny fluid, put it in, and the vehicle was operational again. It still needed work on the transmission but at least the most basic and fundamental step was taken to address the problem - put fluid in. I don't know why Concept-1 would not have done that nor how they could have made a proper assessment of the transmission problem without fluid in it! I won't be trusting them with my vehicle again.

They were recommended to me by W&B Automotive, when I bought my very first car and I needed Winter Tires. Don was extremely accommodating. Every time I have a flat and need a tire repair, they've always gotten me in right away and gotten it fixed immediately. Sometimes at no-charge even! My most recent experience was today. On Saturday I got a flat tire in Madden, AB and had to get AMA to come change my tire. I tried to get into Canadian Tire to have them fix it, and they told me the hole was "Too big for the plug" and that I needed to buy a new tire. And they were going to charge me a fortune for it because I have 17" low-profile tires. I took it in to Don this morning and he had a look at it and was able to fix it. I ALWAYS recommend OK tire to my friends and colleagues when they ask me where a good place to buy tires is. Even if they live in Calgary, the quality of service is well worth it.

I wanted to get my car inspected for my insurance and it took them 3 weeks to get it done as they were always messing things up. I spoke to Arnel and told me the crack in my windshield will be fine but when I went there they told me to get it fixed. After I fixed my windshield they told me to come back by Saturday at 9am to do the inspection but the mechanic wasn't there. For the third time that I went back to this shop, they did not inspect my car. The mechanic just signed the paper without taking a look of my car and filled in the paper WRONG. So I went back the same day to get it done and explained to the owner the mistakes and I wrote down one by one what needs to get done properly. Unfortunately, the mechanic wasn't there anymore so I have to go back the next day which will be the 5th time. I went back the next morning and the paper wasn't even filled in properly that I have to tell them where they screwed up AGAIN. The owners of this shop are not professional and they are incompetent. They got our business for two reasons - 1. They were very reasonably priced. . 2. They were the only company I called that actually picked up their phone. ( Cassandra goes above and beyond to make sure all calls are picked up, shes super woman) I got my truck in, it took about 4 hours but they were really through. I got a small list of things that needed to repaired to pass inspection and they gave me a reasonable quote. My husband however used this as an excuse to try out a different shop that is run by a family member. So we came back to our re inspection. I was quoted 30-1 hour. About 15 minutes into it, I was pulled into the service bay to have a talk. The shop we had just taken our truck to botched our rear breaks and then tried to cover it up. Bryan the service technician carefully and in great detail showed me the damage. He explained what the other mechanic did and what he tried to do to 'fix' it. If you want to call it that. The break was a ticking time bomb and eventually I would have lost my breaks. I am so thankful to Bryan that he caught this and repaired it. So we ordered all the parts and he went away to work. Unfortunately the caliper bracket didnt make it to us on time and I had to wait (at no fault to them) for 7 hours with a toddler. Cassandra did everything in her power to make sure I had supplies to entertain my daughter. Everyone was so nice and forgiving that my tiny terror was running around and occasionally screaming. At the end of the day it became obvious that the part wasn't coming in time. Cassandra called around to get me a rental, but everyone was booked out. And do you know what? I was stranded. Bryan the tech DROVE US HOME. He totally went out of his way to help us, we didn't have very many options to get home. So they got the part this morning and fixed up the truck. It cost us nearly double what Dandy quoted us when it was all said and done. In hindsight we should of just let them do it. I'm so thankful for Cassandra, Bryan and the entire Dandy crew. Bryan will be the only person working on our truck from here on out.
