If I could give Gigantelli Auto Sevices a 10 out of 5 star review I absolutely would. Why give such a high rating, below is why and I apologize for the length. I just recently got rid of my 2014 Escape and bought a 2006 Tuscon. I always bought brand new for security but the economy decides for you what your options are now. Yesterday my vehicle died on the way to work and I do need a reliable vehicle to drive for my career field. Thankfully I have an amazing girlfriend who rescued me when I had to pull over quickly before my vehicle died in the middle of the road as the warning signs of my vehicle shutting down were presented. After work my vehicle did start and my girlfriend's husband explained how to problem solve and it was narrowed down to the alternator. Just last weekend this same couple brought their vehicles to Gigantelli for work and loved the experience they had. My girlfriend spoke to Tony first then a couple of hours later I called as well. I have been through a lot lately in both career and personal so with my vehicle dying this was the kicker I felt hopeless. When I spoke with Tony, never spoken with him before or met him, he could tell my stress and anxiety. By the end of our chat I knew I was dealing with a true hearted automotive owner who wasn't going to take advantage of a single girl. I knew I was in safe hands and all would be okay. I towed my vehicle later last night to them. My vehicle was ready for 2pm for a great price and it had nothing to do with the alternator but new battery posts required which told me before picking it up I was right to trust them. I instantly gave Tony a big hug, thanked him many times and gave him freshly baked PB cookies I had just made before coming as a sign of gratitude. When you bring your vehicle there, it's not take a number situation; it's a family feeling instantly whose business is ran by three brothers who truly care about their clients and workmanship. I apologize again for my length of my review but to get my full hearted understanding of why I rated so high I had to explain my story. I will forever be a loyal client to them and would recommend everyone to go there. We have a bad economy, we need to choose wisely where we spend our hard earned money and at Gigantelli you receive the value, workmanship and family felt customer service. If we were able to give 10-star reviews, GIGANTELLI'S AUTO would get 20 stars. My wife had just picked up her mom at Foothills Hospital from surgery and had an accident in the parking lot. She needed to get to a mechanic ASAP as she was leaking fluids. Driving into Gigantelli's at 5:15 pm on Monday was a life-changing experience. Joe and his family took such care of us and the car that we felt like we were a part of their family. They evaluated the damage on Tuesday, provided us with an estimate, and informed us that some parts would need to be sourced from Vancouver and Edmonton. We were also told that we would likely receive the car back after the long weekend. I am not sure what kind of miracles they pulled off, but they worked all night Tuesday & Wednesday and had the car back in my wife's hands Thursday afternoon. WOW !!! Joe commented that he understood that, given my mother-in-law's need for continued medical attention over the next week, it was essential to get the car back to us as soon as possible. WOW-WOW !!! As my wife was driving home, the air conditioner stopped working, and water was leaking into the front seat. We took the car back, explained the situation, and they took it in to look at. We went home, and a few hours later, Gigantelli's called to say the car was ready for us to pick up. Just a hose was blocked (nothing from the accident), and they not only fixed it but also, since they live in the same area as we do and it was the end of the day, they brought us the car after work. Their door-to-door service, family-oriented approach, and above-and-beyond service are why we are now customers for life. read more

Went to Gigantelli's after looking at all the stellar reviews. Yep, they are as honest and as good a group of mechanics as you can get. Went in to get a tune-up and after spending more than 6 hours on my Dodge Durango Hemi V8 they only charged me for 2 hrs labour. The next day my engine light came on and I went back. After checking the engine light diagnostics and also having a good discussion about the rough deceleration I had noticed on Deerfoot, we decided it was definitely the EGR valve. They had alot of cars in the lot but they also knew we were getting the Dodge ready for a road trip the following week. They had it in the shop and the EGR valve replaced the next morning. Joe, the eldest brother, explained they weren't going to charge me any labour because the engine light had come on after they had worked on it. John, the middle brother, showed me the old EGR valve with the excess carbon build up and really, the thing was ready to be replaced. The other work and engine shampoo probably loosened up some of the engine gunk and tipped it over its breaking point. Based on all the work they put into the vehicle, including road tests, I easily saved on 6 hrs of labour. The part that really impressed me was their willingness to talk about the work they had done and the parts and mechanisms involved. They are a smart group of guys with a natural curiosity and aptitude for problem solving that seems to be a familial trait. I hope I haven't shot myself in the foot by exponentially exposing them to more clientel. My prediction: they're going to have to get a bigger shop or extend their hours. read more

Amazing service. Very honest people. I had a problem with the breaks, whenever I push the break my car would make that loud noise. I took my car to my mechanic on a Saturday, he looked at the breaks and told me there is no problem with my breaks. He did not take the time to properly examine the breaks and asked me to bring my car during a week day because he needs more time to diagnose the problem. I was unhappy with my mechanic and asked a friend if he knows good mechanic. I was lucky because he told me about the Gignatelli brothers. I called to book an appointment and talked to Toney and turned out that they are fully booked that day. We agreed to drop my car Wednesday afternoon to fix it Thursday, the next day. I was pleasantly surprised to get a phone call from Toney 1 hour after dropping my car to tell me that the pin of the caliber was missing and he fixed it with a used pin that he has and my car is ready. So he managed to fix my car the same day. Not only this, he did not charge me and refused to take any money because he thought it was simple thing. Yes, it was simple for you Tony but it speaks a lot about you guys. Thanks Tony and Joe. read more

Two events lead me to recommending Gigantelli with a 5-star rating: 1. I was trying to change my headlight bulbs in the parking lot of an auto supply store. I couldn't figure out how to do it (turns out my headlights are a rarer type that requires more complicated steps to remove than just pulling them out). A guy was coming out of the shop while I was labouring away and he offered to help, and spent 20 minutes changing my bulbs. I asked how he know how to do it and he said he was a mechanic at Gigantelli - that tells me the staff there CARE, even when they don't have to - which is a huge plus. 2. I took my car in to Gigantelli to have the timing belt replaced, and what an improvement it made! But about 3 weeks later I heard a strange ticking noise coming from the timing belt side of the engine. I took it back to Gigantelli to see what was wrong and if they could fix it. They got me in right away and found out it was linked to the timing belt replacement, and they fixed right away. The timing belt replacement was great (and so was the price), but when there was a problem they made things right - another huge plus. read more

Over the past ten years I've brought various vehicles in with various problems. Team Gigantelli has always properly diagnosed the problem, first time, and fixed it for a reasonable cost - not like some other dealers and garages where you go back and forth with multiple visits playing 'find the problem' with a shop charge each time they guessed at the possible problem, think they've fixed it and sent you on your way only to have the problem recur on the drive home. As another reviewer said, there have been occasions when they could have charged me more for what I thought was a major issue but was in fact fairly minor, but they didn't - these guys are scrupulously honest. This review is getting long, but I have to give special kudos to whoever it is in the shop that does their electrical diagnostics. Twice I've brought vehicles in with electrical problems that neither the dealer nor another garage could figure out. Gigantelli got to work, found the problems and fixed them on the first visit. Thanks, guys! Bottom line - honest, friendly, reasonably priced. What more do you want in a garage? read more

I'm really lucky I found these guys when I did !!! Driving on my way from Vancouver to Saskatoon, my car suddenly started to misfire and loose power while I was coming through the rockies. Despite engine difficulty I managed to make it into Calgary. Being on a time schedule and on a budget I needed to find a Auto Service Centre that was near by the highway #1, open, and would take me. Well, after 8 different Car Shops wouldn't see me due to being to busy (Long Weekend).Even though these guys were booked solid, Tony from Gigantelli Auto Service offered to come out on the street to take a quick look under my hood. In less than 5 min he knew what wrong, set up a solution, got it fixed and had me on the road in under an hour. I can't thank him enough for his honest and knowledgable help. Went to check out Gigantelli's for myself after all the great reviews. I had a car that I was looking to buy, but I thought I would get it checked out mechanically before buying. Well I called them up, and at first found out that they were booked solid because of the long weekend coming up. But Joe made some room and fit me in the next day. Totally surprised me right off the bat. Brought in the car and they checked it out. Turns out the car was a total waste of money; would cost more to fix than to buy. So they explained everything to me in a way I could understand, and to top it off, he gave me a discount on the check up since he knew I had gone through all this trouble just to find out I wouldn't be buying the car. Great guys at this shop. Definitely run like a family shop. Will definitely be bringing any mechanical issues to them in the future. read more

After reading the good reviews here I decided to give Gigantelli's a call and just chat with them about my car issues. I found Joe very friendly, knowledgable, honest and helpful, providing suggestions over the phone on potential fixes and ways to avoid brining my car in for a check up. To be on the safe side, I made an appointment for the following week. Again Joe was very friendly and had my car back to me within a day. He gave me a lot more suggestions based on his extensive experience and told me to call back with questions anytime. I just went to Gigantelli's on the recommendation of an AMA technician who had attended to my broke down car. He said that he would take his car to them. In short, their service was excellent in all respects. They communicated clearly, asking for the go-ahead when they confirmed what was needed (it was as expected, needing a new alternator). Despite being busy, they were able to squeeze me in because I am from out of town, and was leaving Calgary the next day. Their manner, competence, integrity, and sense of service is exemplary. I read the reviews before booking my appointment and I was not disappointed! The service was great, I ended up meeting both brothers and both were so pleasant and courteous. I loved that the problem I went in with was fixed and I was offered 2 different ways (and costs) of fixing it. I don't feel I was being ripped off and they didn't have a list of "other problems" that need to be taken care of. These gentlemen are as honest, and like-able, as it gets :) We have always taken our truck to them, and now that our SUV is no longer under warranty (read: we aren't forced to take it back to the dealership), we take her there as well. In fact, they were recently able to diagnose & fix (for an extremely reasonable price) an odd sound that two other mechanics (including the ones at the dealership) couldn't even hear, much less fix. Last year my card was making a pounding noise. I took it to a couple of places and they couldn't figure it out. Finally I found this place and booked an appointment with them. The guy actually took the time to come with me for a test drive so I can show him when the noise starts and where it comes from. No other mechanics that I went to spent that much time.
