Our company would not hesitate to recommend Michael of Mr. Locksmith Burnaby. We had a break-in at the office of one of our tenants and needed to secure the commercial building. I phoned Michael and he was available immediately on a Saturday. 4 doors were dealt with. Our outside door had the lock replaced with a very secure lock and keys that could not be copied. The inside doors had new dead bolts installed and the main office door had 2 door guardians installed for added security. This last installation was at the recommendation of the police who suggested that a door that is not regularly used would be at a very high security level with the door guardians. Finally, an outside back door had new bolts installed with a metal door frame guard. Michael was professional and courteous, taking time to carefully explain all options and was very open to questions and suggestions (police recommendations). The outside work could not be completed until the weather improved and Michael kept us informed of his timing. This was all done without a downpayment or credit card number being requested. Our company and our tenants have peace of mind and the knowledge that Michael is available to work for our very best interests. read more

Nick was on time with his mask and gloves on (Covid-19 protocol) and got our new condo lock rekeyed in about 20 min all the while answering our questions about condo locks. He showed me how simple the original condo key was and how much more secure our new condo keys were with many more pin-notches. It was quite shocking to see the difference and this definitely put my mind at ease that, at minimum, rekeying our lock after moving into a new condo is a must for safety/security. He took away our old keys for recycling which was helpful. Nick is friendly and knowledgeable - he even helped us fix the bathroom lock (simple push-pin system) in a matter of seconds. What I really appreciated right from the beginning of the service - which was when I called a couple of weeks before the move into a new condo - was that he took the time to answer my questions about security and was flexible when I asked to move up the service from Friday morning to Thursday evening at 6 p.m. The price to rekey ($125 + taxes for a set of 5 keys) was reasonable for this excellent service. I would definitely recommend Nick to anyone who wants proficient, efficient, and professional rekeying services. read more

I contacted Michael after an attempted break in at our apartment. Our door lock was destroyed and we were locked out of our apartment. Michael came over right away, during dinner time, without hesitation. He was very professional and explained to us how the lock was compromised. He showed us the difference between different grades of locks and explained which would be best. The lock we chose at his recommendation was higher quality but it was brushed nickel. Our building requires chrome fixtures. Michael said this was not a problem, he would install the brushed nickel and order us the chrome then return and install it. I assumed I would need to follow up to get the chrome fixtures but Michael called two weeks later just as he said he would. He came by on the weekend and installed it for us. It was comforting to have a professional locksmith during an uneasy situation such as a break in. We really appreciated his extra effort and would highly recommend Michael. read more

Michael was the first person I called because of the great reviews he had received and our experience was just as good if not better. He is very professional, knowledgeable, trustworthy and caring. The lock in my dad's condo was faulty and dad was stuck outside for 15 minutes trying to turn his key. Even though it was a Saturday morning and Michael was already busy on another job he came by within an hour to replace the lock. In no time at all my dad had a new and better lock installed properly and neatly, and better yet, had the peace of mind that the lock he now has is reliable and problem free. I really appreciated the time that Michael took to educate us on locks and security in general. His recommendations was sound and well explained so we had no reservations about choosing a lock to have installed that would best suit our needs. Should I ever need a locksmith again, I will definitely be calling Michael! read more

It was a long weekend, so Monday, today of all times, I locked myself out of my bedroom ( yes, I have a stupid handle on my bedroom door, with an even worse pop out lock) Unfortunately I had a sketchy roommate a few months back, so the only lock I could get for the master bedroom door, without ruining my door, was an identical door latch ,which I had installed with one of those push in locks. So today, I called the original guy who installed this lame lock and he quoted me over $30 more, and he was only 2 blocks away. I called so many places and to no avail, I stumbled across Mr Locksmith Burnaby. I'm in Coal Harbor downtown so I figured it would be a no go, but Michael was not only happy to take my call, quoted me a great price, for this simple job and said he would be 20 minutes. He was punctual, happy, explained any questions I had for him and was in and out in 5 mins. Now that what you call good service!!! read more

I put myself in a bad position when my key broke off in my door lock at my apartment, i figured my day was done and it's going to be a bad day, as now i cannot leave. I checked online, and the only site that made me feel comfortable was Mr. Locksmith (Michael). I called him up, very helpful on the phone, and all sounds great. It was a busy day, so a couple of hours to be there, couldn't ask for more,... except to my surprise, when within just over an hour after i called, he had replaced my lock and handed me a new set of keys! Not only was the service fast, he had all of the parts available, fixed the problem within 10 minutes of being onsite and showed me what was done and options for keys in the future. I was extremely appreciative of this type of exceptional service, and it made my day and I will be passing his name onto anyone i know looking for his services. Thx Michael!... read more

We called Mike on a Saturday since we'd just had someone move out who had copies of our front door keys. He was available within an hour of calling, was prompt, gave my wife and I all of our options, and got the work done quickly. We'd thought that we'd simply rekey our front door but he let us know about the level of security of our lock (low) and that while a thief will get through any lock we put on, our current lock could be picked and so therefore show no sign of damage and therefore insurance won't pay out (they argue that there is no sign of forced entry so it could have been that we'd simply forgotten to lock the door when leaving). He said we had 2 weeks to upgrade and that he'd apply the cost of the rekey to the upgraded lock if we so wished which was a fantastic deal. We will absolutely call Michael again if we need any other locksmithing services. read more

Excellent service. It was an urgent call at 1am in the night! called 2 other companies in my internet search who both were dismissive and said they needed to come in person to see the problem before even attempting to trouble shoot or give me an estimate on the phone. Nick was the service provider in my area for Mr. Locksmith and was so patient to listen to my issue, tried to suggest explanations or figure out the problem on the phone and gave me an honest and fair estimate. I called him multiple times while trying to figure out the problem and he answered quickly each time willing to help. He fixed the problem within minutes after arriving. He was super thorough, genuine in his effort to minimize any damage and solved the mystery which was actually very different than what i thought it was! I would highly recommend them! read more

We were fortunate enough to have Michael over recently to help (ok not help - he did it all by himself) us unlock a bedroom that our daughter accidentally locked (from outside thank goodness). My old house needed service too when my former roommate lost his keys so we changed the locks. I'm so critical about services and products which is why I love posting positive experience reviews. There are so many good things I could say about working with this company. Personality, friendliness, intangibles all matter a ton along with high quality service obviously. This company brought every little bit of all of these things. Our conversations during services were absolutely wonderful too; I almost want to change careers to locksmith now! Thank you so much for the better-than-perfect service ! - Kyle read more

This is the 2nd time we've called Michael Lee to help us out. The most recent call was to help us replace our locks due to a break in. I emailed Michael at 1145pm the night of the break in, and he replied 15 mins later. He came by the house at 9am the next day. He helped to re-secure the patio door where the thieves broke in, and added a couple more locks/hardware to reduce the risk of the patio door being compromised again. At the same time he upgraded the dead bolt on the main door to a bigger sized unit, and added a re-enforcement bracket to the door jam. My family and I feel more safe now with the upgrades he did. He's a true professional and his service is great. On his business card, his direct cell phone # is 778-772-5625 I would totally recommend him to my family and friends. read more

Michael set up an appointment and Mick showed up at the door in the blistering heat, quickly re-keyed three deadbolt locks in our house so whoever stole my purse won't be able to use my old keys. Mick (Michael's son, who has been working with his dad for 5 years) was quick and efficient and friendly. He pulled out a set of 5 new keys and keyed our old locks to fit them, using tiny plugs of metal from a sectioned box. If you start with a good lock, then re-keying is an option. Mick took along some old keys from our key box. This is a much better option than putting them in the Blue Box because they can sort out the different kinds of metal (brass, steel, nickel silver, etc.) and get them to the highest end use. Good work, Mr. Locksmith! read more

Fantastic fast service and reasonably priced. After locking myself out of the house and calling another local locksmith who quoted me a 2 hour wait (on a Wednesday morning?) and higher rate I gratefully found Mr Locksmith. I called the automotive locksmith first in error but was met with the most helpful and sympathetic ear who gave me the number to Michael as he handled premise locks. I wasn't able to reach Michael by phone and left a message and texted him as offered in his voice message. He called me and texted me back in less than 2 minutes and was at my home in 20 mins!!!! So friendly and efficient had my door unlocked quickly and at a reasonable price. I hope this never happens to me again but know who I will call if it does :) read more

I contacted Michael with our server room door and shower room door locks in our office. I asked him to come in and quote it and he did so promptly. The price quoted was reasonable . It was around the end of office hours when he came in, so he came to do the work the following morning. Again, he was very punctual. The day before, he texted me a lock that he thought would work better on the shower door but wouldn't cost more. I really appreciated that he thought of what would work for us. All in all, he was professional and super nice. Would definitely recommend him and will call him if I needed locksmith services again. read more

I met with Randy at my residence my steering wheel was locked. I first thought it has to be the key. Randy was honest and straight to the point. Telling me that in his many years as a locksmith he was at least 85% sure it was the ignition. Taking the time to explain to me what exactly happens in my situation I trusted him in his knowledge and expertise. Yes indeed it was the ignition. He showed me every step of what had to be done. Randy is very professional and a respectful man. He had it all done in about 30 mins...thanks again...I will definitely recommend him. Burnaby client... read more

More than great - EXCELLENT SERVICE. Had to call for an emergency service for me and my family's safety...they said 30 mins and for sure 30 mins later Nicholas presented himself in a polite and professional manner. He gave me good advice and did not over-sell me anything I didn't need. It was such a great service, very quick and straight forward too. I am one very happy client and now I feel safe and could actually sleep the whole night through with no more worries after our locks were rekeyed. Thank you so much for the excellent service read more

Micheal was very nice and helpful. He came the next day after I called him to change locks on 4 doors and add a new heavy duty deadbolt on all 4 doors after one of my patio doors got broken into the day before. He was knowledgable and I felt safe as I had to leave him to run a quick errand. He was fast and courteous as he even cleaned up after himself. 4 doors were done within a couple of hours with new deadbolts, wraparound plates and metal strike plates on all of them! Would definately refer him to anyone who asks. read more

Mr Michael did a great job for us too! My 5-year-old locked the master bedroom and the buidling manager did not have the key. I called Mr Locksmith Burnaby and Mr Michael came to help us. He was a gentleman and very professional. He opened the door within 10 seconds, and removed the lock mechanism so that my children (or other family members) do not accidentaly lock it any more. One thing I should have known; cash only. Highly recommended. CORRECTION: They do accept credit cards. I just should have asked him! read more

This was the second time I had used Mr. Locksmith...this time on short notice and they were able to accommodate me. I had an incorrectly installed lock by a tradesman doing renos. Nicholas was able to diagnose the problem in a nano second and had the lock fixed in under 5 minutes. He then installed another new pin pad lock for me. The price charged was extremely reasonable, the service efficient and professional. If you need a locksmith, Nicholas and his father Michael are definitely the ones to call. read more

I had lost the keys to my condo in the late afternoon. I called Nick & left a message and he called back shortly after. Nick arrived promptly and went right to work on the deadbolt. It took a little while, but he was persistent and got it open. He charged the quoted price and emailed a receipt as promised. I would recommend MrLocksmith & Nick any time and would call him again if needing the service. Not a big job, but a job well done. David W. Vancouver read more
