Always been friendly to me and others, and sometimes that's what you need when it comes to return custom. Yes, as someone mentioned previously in their review, the store can sometimes be a bit haphazard in terms of keeping things clean and tidy, but I'd be willing to give the employees a bit of slack on that, as the store is in a super-busy part of the city centre as it relates to footfall. Onto the review: great store, could be better though, even though it's a priority place to visit for movies and games. On occasion, you might plan to buy something there, but a "customer" has swiped the box. I'd like to see some security measures employed by the owner, though if that hasn't happened after the first 7 years, then I don't know... Also, the queuing system drives me crazy. People just randomly stand to the side of you (and some even have the nerve to walk right in front of you), which says more for their upbringing (or downbringing) than anything else. A proper queuing system is badly needed here, as it's mentally draining to go in there after 1pm because the most unsavoury characters are lingering around the store like semi-zombies and are completely oblivious to others. I went in to Rathmines to buy phone credit and SIM cards for my students who were arriving and I asked, just out of curiosity, what were their cheapest phones. They showed me a phone and I got a great deal, so bought 4 of them. Then I said that I would be interested in buying in bulk and he said that I would need a letter, etc So I got all the paperwork done and went back to Rathmines, but they didn't have enough phones for me. They suggested going to Grafton St., which I did. I explained the above story to the really helpful shop assistant, Shauna and presented her with the note from my boss and the company brochure and she told me they didn't have enough phones. So I asked if I could get the total from different shops and she call ahead. Well, she spoke to the manager and he phoned all the shops in town and instead of me going on this wild cellphone chase, the manager went and got the remainder of the phones. Then they set up the phones for me, added the credit and sent them to the Rathmines shop. Now, isn't that service? Amazing. And they made me a cup of coffee. Really happy I did business with them...

Now my back cover was broken (they replaced free of charge) and they chipped the frame to remove the back cover (they tried to cover this up rather than owning up to it). They tried to explain that I should trust them and that the phone would charge even though I wouldn't see the charging icon any more. I take the phone home to test it. It doesn't charge and the phone speakers no longer work. They basically don't know what they are doing and broke other things trying to fix the original problem. Avoid at all costs.

I had my phone couriered from my work place to express tech get my battery fixed. The battery in my…read moreiPhone 7 was completely draining in less than an hour no matter what I did. They repaired it within a few hours and brought it back to me at work the same day. I spoke to an employee on the phone the day before I had the courier come pick up my phone for them to repair it. The guy on the phone was friendly and helpful. I wanted to see how the phone worked for awhile after repair. And about a month later it has been great and the battery is like new. The only odd thing that happened in the first few days after repair was that the screen wouldn't respond to touch. The volume, lock and home button worked but the screen was on and wouldn't respond to touch. I did a few hard resets and it would go back to normal and hasn't happened since, but it was a little nerve wrecking at first. Other than that I would return here for other repairs.

A few weeks later, the screen shattered from a fall of less than a meter - onto a wooden floor - with a protective case on. I returned and was charged another €200 for a second replacement. This time, they added a screen protector - something they should have done in the first place. Not long after, a blue inky patch appeared on the top left of the screen and gradually spread, making the phone completely unusable. Crucially, the phone had not been dropped, hit, or damaged in any way after the second repair. When I went back, they made me wait over an hour while the phone was supposedly being "assessed" (it just sat untouched on a desk). Eventually, I was told I'd need another new screen--and that it wasn't their fault after spending EU550 with them on two screens. Ended up getting it fixed properly by another provider for €150. Bottom line: Terrible customer service, poor-quality parts, and you'll find better prices and reliability elsewhere. Avoid ExpressTech at all costs.
