Now I know you are gong to say "Of course Q, its a toy shop, what do you expect?" and its a fair point, but this place is different - all of the toys have an educational slant and for once his doesn't mean the place is the equivalent of a stalk of broccoli to a child, the stock is well chosen and fun, and appealing to the ankle biters! They also have a whole range of art and craft supplies for those rainy days; stickers, card, glitter, glue, glittery glue etc etc etc. I know you'll really want to know so I'll tell you, after my son had recovered his power of speech we decided on a cow as a suitable memento from our visit, he was still clutching it as he went to bed this eve!

This place has the types of toys that you want your kids to play with, no play stations and Wiis or other electronic stuff it has total back to basics kind of things. these are the kind of toys that the kid who plays with the box instead of what was in the box needs, they don't need fancy pants complicated stuff they need a trip to nimble fingers.its like the shop is teeming with innocence. The art supplies in the shop are top quality too, anything you need in the way of arts and crafts can be found in here. From paintbrushes, paint, stickers, morla, glue, glitter, colouring pencils...they have everything. My favourite section though is where you can make your own cards or invitations. They have lots of different themes - like 18th bday/21st day/wedding/anniversary etc. It's really creative and a way to give your card/invitation a personal touch. They also have oodles of stuff to keep the kids entertained in there too.

However they've retained a number of art and craft essentials with a range of watercolour and acrylic paints as well as some large sheets of different colour and types of paper and some canvasses and brushes. I think this shop is more likely to appeal to children and arty/crafty adults might use it to stock up on the basics but for any specific item they're likely to have to go to other specialist shops.

The lady on the phone was very friendly, efficient, and offered to mail me the pattern. (In comparison, if you called Hickey's in town, you'd wait on the phone for atleast ten minutes, then they'd charge you quite a bit for postage, etc.) Anyway, I received the pattern along with the receipt as well as a thank you note for shopping with them. The current director of RCS is Judith, a lovely lady who was very welcoming to all six of us in the class. The instructor was Sarah, a superb teacher. We were talked through choosing and reading a pattern, cutting and marking cloth and using a sewing machine. I really enjoyed it, Sarah gave me great confidence to have a lash at it myself.

What a wonderful place!…read more I was here for a Yelp Elite event coming up to Christmas and I had the most fun out of any Yelp event I had ever been to. These guys cater to kids and adults and have pottery/art/design classes and private events for all occasions. I drew a mug with a vagina on it. Yes that's right. A vagina! "Vaginas Scare Me" It was a masterpiece. We did our class whilst drinking wine. It was so much fun. I would recommend this place not just for kids but for hens/stags, birthday parties etc. Such a novel idea and you can bring your own drink with you. What a way to spend an afternoon!!…read more This is the kind of thing that adults start off doing in a light-hearted, "ahh it's just a bit of fun" kind of way, but which you'll find very quickly turns into a much more concentrated and seriously-taken affair once people start noticing eachother's handywork.. The concentration gets to such a level that conversation more or less comes to a complete standstill, but you don't even notice because you're so engrossed in turning this little piece of pottery into a potential work of art, having just realised your life-changing passion for children's pottery-painting. We literally could have been there all day and night painting away, happy as can be, but unfortunately the lovely people who work here have lives to live outside of Giddy Studios. And when I say the staff were lovely, I mean SO lovely. They really couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, giving tips on how not to make a complete hames of our pottery pieces, and they steered clear of any condescending kid-friendly carry-on that you might expect from people who work with hyped-up children all day long. I would really recommend going to this place if you're trying to think of a fun, novel activity to do with friends; Go on, release your inner child pottery prodigy!
