Sometimes installing windows can be a pane, but Houston Window Experts makes it easier than…read moreexpected. I used them twice for different houses, so that alone is a testament of my good experience with this company. On my latest install, they were professional from start to finish, although not perfect in some areas (more on that later). I'll start with the issues, and then close with the positives. On our first house, I encountered some disappointing challenges during the execution/installation phase. Our garden was trampled on, one of the windows were installed on the wrong spot, and a light fixture was damaged and the crew tried (poorly) fixing it without notifying me (all caught on CCTV). With all that said though, the company stands by doing the right thing and resolved everything on a timely manner. How it was handled was much appreciated and influenced me to use them again and refer others. On our second house, almost everything went smoothly. All windows were replaced in just two days! Just encountered a minor hiccup when a wall was damaged and a worker claimed it was pre-existing. Luckily, I purposely took before-photos and was able to provide evidence that it was not pre-existing. In the end, it was fixed within satisfaction. As for the positives, I really have to give credit to Milton, the supervisor on the second house. He was very professional and accommodating. On one of the windows, he found water damage and pointed it out to me instead of trying to cover it up. The damage and source were all fixed. Seriously, he could have moved on and I would have never known! All the windows were installed to my satisfaction. Few minor quirks remained, but possibly due to the window manufacture (or so I was explained). Also appreciate how floors snd countertops are covered to prevent/reduce damage and dust. I recommend this company. Here are some tips before using them (or any other window company): - Take lots of photos of each window before the work starts. Ensure to get several close ups and different angles of the trim and corners, both inside and out. Ensure good lighting for a useful photo. - Check with your HOA to see if it's the window replacements are allowed. Some care about colors of trim and grid vs non-grid. - Expect the order to take several months to come in. Get your quote early if it's a house you plan on moving in.

To be fair, the lack of communication and games they play made me go with Doors of Houston and not…read morethem. I called was told that it would be around $500. I said wow and that it was only $400 to install but ok and I was sent a canned text message to my phone to send 4 pictures, measurements, and contact info. I sent them everything but didn't hear back until the next day and it was the same canned text verbiage back but they added the email address. So I sent the same thing again to the email address, 6 pictures, measurements and contact info. Crickets and tumble weeds for two days again. So I resent the email and a couple of days later finally the next day, Then finally, I get the same canned message telling me to email them 4 pictures, measurements and contact info. Now I am getting worried that all my training as a CSR at AT&T's U-verse department has gone by the way side. However, I still needed my door fixed and besides they had installed it when I first got it and I knew that they would surely stand by their install. However, they never told me what they weren't getting, me I could not tell what was the problem because it all went through without bouncing back and they would only answer in canned responses and not tell me what I might have forgotten or didn't go through my message. So after checking everything out, all looked well and it had been a week now without a front door, I sent it again. A couple of days later, i get another canned message to send them 4 pictures, measurements and contact info. So I sent it two more times from different email addresses thinking that maybe it's Google's fault. After not hearing again from them, I went back to texting them and explaining that I had not a clue as to what they weren't getting from my emails but that I knew that they were receiving them because I got the same canned messages back twice out of the six time that I sent it to them but they never took the time to tell me what was missing the pictures? measurements? Contact info? or what? So I finally get a personalized message with the following excuses, Excuse one: He texted back that they were on an emergency install. Excuse two: he texted me back to say that they get 40 text messages a day and they just get lost. Excuse three: finally a personalized email comes back saying that he was playing catch up after a family emergency but it would be $500. I don't know if he really had three different excuses but I got three after two weeks of not having a front door. I almost answered his email back to say that I was so very sorry about his family emergency and hope that everything was alright. But a friend stopped me and asked why was I apologizing, I didn't do anything wrong and like she said, at this point it did sounded like a scam. I was willing to pay the $500 estimate for a job that he said he never saw my emails because he lost my text messages, and/or was too busy to acknowledge my emails to explain what was missing because of an emergency install and/or the family emergency. Stick to one excuse and it might have been more believable. So there you have it folks, plenty of excuses and no door after two weeks made me decide that if it was a communication problem before the work started, I figure it was not going to get any better after the work started. So I called Doors Svc of Houston and they had the front door fixed by noon the next day and fixed my patio door handle while they were there too. I got two doors repaired for $300 less than The Door Guys were to fix just the one door.

The installer was super nice and gave me helpful tips for painting my door and grout repair, and moved the doorbell wires up for me so I could install a video doorbell. I am very happy with my new door, and how much it has improved the look of my townhouse.
